Neat, clean house with 4 bedrooms and baths to comfortably accommodate our family of six adults. Location was convenient to local shops and beaches. Since we visited Ilica in July of 2024, the ambient temperature was in the upper 30s C every day. That prompted us to turn on the A/C in bedrooms to cool the rest of the house, and it worked. We suggest availability of more bath and beach towels. However, we all had a very nice stay.
We had a wonderful stay in 'My Stone Home' and can't thank Yesim and Mehmet enough for making it such a relaxed holiday. The villa feels like a home from home, warm and welcoming, each room is tastefully decorated with charm and everything you need is provided for a relaxing holiday. The garden is wonderful, with beautiful mature trees and flowers, lots of areas to sit outside, whether you want sun or shade and a good sized pool. Yesim and Mehmet were both very helpful before and during our stay and looked after us well. It was a pleasure meeting them and we look forward to returning soon. It was also a pleasure meeting Sans, such a friendly, chilled out dog.
You don't need a car, the dolmus to Cesme and Alicati is just round the corner as are a couple of mini markets and restaurants.
The villa is in a very peaceful area, but Ilica centre and the harbour with it's restaurants and shops is just a couple of minutes walk away. The beautiful sandy beach at Ilica is just another 5 minutes walk and was very clean, water lovely and the large beach not at all crowded. There were also a number of smaller beaches a few minutes from the villa.
We went in October, so a few restaurants had closed, but there were still plenty open within a few minutes walk, and a huge choice of shops and restaurants just 10 minutes dolmus away in either Alicati or Cesme - taxis also very cheap if preferred. Alicati was a particularly lovely town to visit with it's traditional buildings, great bars and restaurants, plenty of places to stop and enjoy the scenery.
Izmir and Ephesus are also close enough to visit in a day trip.
We can thoroughly recommend this villa, it's a real gem and we felt very lucky to have found it! The area is lovely and very friendly, everything you could hope for from a holiday.
Thanks again Mehmet and Yesim for a very special stay.
