This time of year we take our dog to Devon but decided to try France as a lot of the cottages had private pools
Lovely area to explore with a dog and a village within a good walk to get fresh bread
Not the biggest range of restaurants or supermarkets but adequate and the restaurants we did find were good
Nich, Julie and Trevor were great hosts and our family had a lovely holiday. The gite was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the large grounds were child and dog friendly.
Our 7 year old daughter said: "The best part of our stay was relaxing by the pool and swimming in it all day. It was a lot of fun, we packed lots of lego with us but haven't had a chance to play with it because we got carried away by the pool. The large garden with swings, slide and climbing frame was really fun."
We came to live here at La Metairie d'Auge in 2006. The property was previously a farmhouse and outbuildings parts of which date back to 17th century. We have since renovated the old stables to create La Petite Ecurie and have completely renovated the original farmhouse to make our house (across the courtyard from the cottage).
An ideal location to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, come and relax at any time of the year. Every season has something unique to offer. Whatever the season you can enjoy your own space in the cosy well-appointed cottage, whilst enjoying the amazing wildlife and beautiful countryside.
