Cabin in the Woods
Heater not working (as should)
Access road needs some gravel
I did not hear from the guest during the stay; I would have expected to get an email, text, or phone call when the heater wouldn't start. There are posted Instructions for the heater in the Cabin , and it does work (it may take longer to get started initially). There is also a decent wood stove in the Cabin. And short cut firewood available for purchase at the key pickup location.
The access road is a two track woods road with a few puddles. It is not a gravel road. We have not had any complaints all season. If you were here during our big rain storm/string of rainy days it may have had a few more puddles, but it is solid underneath. We had $3,500 worth of grading and compacting performed in late summer 2018.
Summation; next time a guest has an issue, please contact your host immediately!
Quiet time in the woods
The cabin was as advertised. The bed was comfortable, the propane stove and sink setup work well, and having windows on all 4 walls makes the cabin light and highlights the wonderful woods surrounding the cabin. It was utterly peaceful. I would definitely return.
Off the Grid
Peaceful place to stay and enjoy nature.
The description is accurate, the cabin is well maintained and the area is beautiful. The hiking trails are awesome and to hike down to the falls is great! We also were able to pick some of the local thimbleberries along the trail and have them with our pancake breakfast in the morning.
We didn't use the cooktop in the cabin and did all of our cooking over the fire pit. Which was perfect for our use and we were able to arrange for firewood to be there when we checked in, which was convenient.
The road going into the cabin needs some work and I would not attempt to drive in with out a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle. We have a Jeep, so it wasn't an issue for us.
The port-a potty is a bit of a walk, not right by the cabin and it was out of toilet paper when we got there. So, you may want to bring your own. (luckily we did)
