I cannot sing the praises of this property enough! It is in a great location in the Altstadt, nestled among the small alleys and roads off of the Marktplatz, so you can retreat from the crowds. But you are really in the center of things, all the highlights of old Heidelberg within a 10 to 15 minute walk, but often closer. To get to the greater Heidelberg area, bus stops are right there, too.
Unfortunately, there was an issue with my rental of the original space, so I did not see this apartment in particular. However, Martina was incredibly kind, communicative, and accommodating and upgraded my stay to another apartment in the house. I stayed in the space at the top of the house, which I could not be more stoked about. It had a little balcony in the courtyard with a perfectly framed view of the castle. At night, the castle would be all lit up and seem to be floating in space. Truly spectacular.
Modern and updated, the kitchen had everything you could ever need to cook a meal in terms of pots, pans, and appliances. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable with an amazing shower (2 shower heads; what luxury!) The beds were comfortable and cozy. I was in heaven! After my first night here, I understood why this apartment was named Himmelreich. I can say with confidence that any of Martina's rentals in this house would give the same feeling.
Martina herself is sweet and friendly. She offered to greet me personally and the English information that was left in the house was thorough and helpful. She was available when I needed to call her and she set me up perfectly.
One Note: This rental space is not very accessible if you can't do a lot of stairs. My original rental (this one) is only like 4 or 5 steps, but the ones above are up a wooden spiral staircase that is kind of narrow and long. It gave even more character to the rental, but some may find it a challenge.
