We loved our stay at this home in Culebra. The view was gorgeous and we were entertained with the sailing boats coming into the bay. The kitchen well equipped and the home had everything we needed during our stay. We would love to stay here again!
Amazing home w/ sunrise views! Larger than it appears in photos. Snorkel equipment visited by critters so we rented in town & fridge wouldn't stay cold but yummy local restaurants took care of us! Some drips when it rains. Overall awesome stay!
Great location and so easy to get to any of Culebraâs beaches. Beautiful view of bay and sunrises from the decks. Unit is large and has everything you need, from kitchen appliances to beach accessories and laundry to parking. Really enjoyed our stay!
Very quiet and relaxing place not too far from town but far enough. Had everything we needed to make food. A/C in upstairs bedroom was a life saver. Spent lots of time on the patio looking at the bay. Definitely agree with keep food off the counters overnight. Would stay here again.
The Views were breathtaking and the overall location was very Nice, The property was not a hundred percent accurate according to the listing, Kind of run down a little bit and not very well maintained, Ants Throughout entire house and a severe bug Problem and spider problems throughout our stay. Wi-Fi went out halfway through visit And never came back on. The owner's communication was amazing but the property could use some upkeep improvements and a little bit of renovation in some areas.
The views from both the lower and upper decks were amazing, especially at sunrise. Kitchen supplies were okay, kinda what Iâve come to expect on small islands. The AC in the bedroom worked great and there was almost always a good ocean breeze blowing through the rest of the house with the windows open and there were a few fans available for use. The beds were not the most comfortable but the linens were clean. We did have a little bit of an ant issue but nothing too bad. Donât rent anything larger than a Jeep or youâll have difficulty parking it. The beach chairs, umbrella and such were very convenient. The gravity water filter in the kitchen was nice because we didnât have to buy drinking water and use a bunch of plastic bottles.
The Treehouse Vacation Home. A truly wonderful rental.
We had a truly awesome vacation staying at Punta Aloe 21 on Culebra. The owners have thought of everything without having mounds of unneeded items. We have stayed at many Vrbo rentals and many seem like they fill them with everything they don't want in their main home.
Things I love about the house: (other than the obvious gorgeous view and 2 incredible decks.)
-the cleanliness is awesome. A true test of a clean house is when you drop something on the floor, wipe it and the rag isn't filthy from the poorly cleaned floor.
-the dock across the street is a huge bonus.
-the knives were sharp
-there are plastic containers for leftovers with covers that
match and fit
-the bath and beach towels are really nice.
- the shelving for clothes in the bedrooms are great.
- they provide 1 shampoo and 2 hair conditioners which
is genius. You alway use more hair conditioner than
shampoo.
- The paintings done by one of the owners are lovely.
- the furniture is perfect, the beds very comfortable.
- the outdoor lounge chairs, table and chairs and beach
chairs were in great shape and just the right amount
You can't beat the location and the views are simply out of this world. We would go to the beach some days, and others I would swim off the dock then come back and lounge on the decks.
We shopped every other day for our food in the well-stocked grocery stores. The overall experience rates this as one of the best vacations we have had in years.
All the best! Stephanie and Peter
The property was wonderful and well-stocked, and the hosts were very responsive. We did not rent a vehicle for most ofbour trip and the walk into town and to the southern beach was hot but easily managable, about half an hour each way. There was a gravity water filter, a coffee maker, and several fans. The sunsets and sunrises were stunning in the view over the harbor, and we enjoyed every minute of our time there.
One night we had a particularly powerful thunderstorm that drove rain through the metal doors and several places in the roof. We put out some buckets and towels, and sipped rum coctails while occasionally mopping. We notified the hosts and, as always, were reaponsive. Ultimately this was not an issue for us, as none of the leaks were over anything critical (i.e. electronics and upholstery).
I highly reccomend this location, it was everything we were hoping for.
Well appointed house in a calm, relaxing waterfront setting.
This 2 bedroom, 2 story house was well appointed, especially the kitchen. The upstairs and downstairs shaded porches were perfect for reading or outdoors eating. As expected, a rental car or golf cart is necessary to access beaches, restaurants or grocery stores. The available beach chairs, snorkel equipment, and washer/dryer were much appreciated.
Eckard, Sigrid and Frankie's thoughtful furnishing of Punta Aloe 21 made our 3 week stay memorable and carefree. Things like the hammock on the deck, lots of dish towels, stainless cookware, the downstairs laundry room, screens on the windows, combined with comfy mattresses and the lovely views set the stage for a relaxing stay.
My family of four had a great stay in Culebra at this property. The deck was perfect for our lunches and dinners and the view is absolutely amazing! There is cover for shade out there and enough of a breeze that we were not bothered by bugs (a concern for my daughters).
AC in the bedrooms worked great, too. We spent 4 nights here and were sad we had to leave so soon.
If you go, make sure you snorkel at Tamarindo Beach early in the morning when the turtles are feeding. We were the only people at Zoni Beach twice and found some great shells there, too. The market just over the bridge to the right as you are heading to the property is the best as far as prices and variety of items available.
This was our second time at Eckard's and Sigrid's cosy place and it was just as good as it was the last time. We spent a total of 3 blissful weeks and we did not want to leave.
The house is situated on a quiet street overlooking the bay where you get a spectacular view from both the main and upper deck. The town is a 5 minute drive away so loading up on groceries was pretty convenient. The kitchen was well equipped which was great as we were cooking all the time. There is also a dock 2 minutes walk from the house where you can go for a quick swim, do a little snorkeling along the mangrove or just read a book there.
This is such a gem and we will definitely stay here again when and if we return to Culebra.
We have enjoyed staying at the house. Itâs on the road with not too much traffic and the neighbors were quiet. The house is comfortable and very functional. The kitchen is well equipped, which is important to me as I like to cook. We stayed in the east unit and it was lovely to watch the sunrises, the sailboats and the cargo ferry coming and going. There is no access to the water by the house but we had a golf cart and there are many beaches that are only minutes away. Eckard and his family are awesome hosts, communicated instantly and gave us excellent detailed instructions about the restaurants and things to do, even where to get fresh fruit and veggies (at Dâs Garden, where they also make delicious smoothies, sell local organic cheese and fresh eggs - we literally got them directly from the chicken coop, they were still warm!)
We had a great week and would definitely return. Thank you, Eckard!
The pictures on the property's page don't do the location justice. From either the first or second floor decks, you are overlooking a beautiful bay, boats and greenery in the distance. The property was very clean - except for some beach sand we added! - and it had the conveniences one needs. There were a couple of minor issues - trouble with the hot water heater - but the owners kept the lines of communication open and addressed the issue. It was our first time on Culebra and we thoroughly enjoyed the beaches. Some are rocky or studded with coral, but are too beautiful not to visit for a few hours. Flamenco Beach is worth the cost to get in. But don't forget Zoni Beach, free and one of the most beautiful locations we have ever been at. Again, we heartily recommend this property. We used the upstairs bedroom, because of the better morning view. The downstairs living area is comfortable and roomy. Did I say that the view was worth the price of admission?! Thanks again for the use of the property.
We had a lovely stay in Culebra at this property. The house is simple yet airy, comfortable with a great view and perfect quiet location. The owners Sigrid and Eckard were friendly, accommodating and very welcoming. We loved our stay and loved these hosts.
This is a home with a nice view of the sea, well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms. It provides privacy and space to lie in the sun and enjoy the view. The artist owner has her paintings/pictures on the walls--beautiful work. If you stay here, you should rent a vehicle, as walking to town or beaches is a bit far. We would certainly rent this home again.
Beautiful place! Worth it comhave someone that is unable to do stairs then this is not the place .
otherwise the owners were great and the house has amazing views and are equipped with most everything you need but once again like others who said it does need to grill. Still most people will be jealous if you don't have or even a week!
A great spot with the decks being a highlight. Enjoyed having a washer/dryer if needed and it was a quick ride into town. Owner very responsive. We are light sleepers, so the chicken/roosters can be annoying, yet this is part of island life and hard to avoid.
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Owners, Sigrid , Eckard and Frankie D.
We live in Puerto Rico and escape to Culebra whenever we can. Hosting gives us the chance to share a space that has brought our family joy for generations. Weâre nearby if you need us and always happy to help with tips or directions. We love helping guests enjoy the island like locals.
We originally considered the U.S. Virgin Islands, but when we discovered Culebra, we knew this was home. The beaches are beautiful, the community is friendly and bilingual, and the island is easy to reach. Our neighborhood is one of the oldest on Culebra, known for its wooden homes on stilts, sea breezes, and peaceful atmosphere. Itâs close to town but far enough to feel like a true retreat.
