This property was wonderful. We had a little issue on the first day but the owner took care of it right away and even gave us use of the Suite at no extra charge for the weekend for our inconvenience. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there is absolutely no water pressure. Showers were quite a challenge. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.
This old home provides more than ample space for your group to sleep. It is an old home though and the showers have little water pressure. Hot tub is a very nice place to wind down after a long day on the slopes. The room with some table games is an unheated space that is too cold too spend time in during the winter months. It is tucked away from the nearby towns and when it snows a lot like it did during our trip makes for long slow drives to get to any destinations. The hosts are wonderful and with good communication will treat you well and assist during your stay. This place is what you and your group make of it. I would stay here again.
Our extended family has the best time at this beautiful property. The house accomodations were wonderful; comfy beds, great hot tub, and perfect place to enjoy some peace and when still close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo.
I stayed for a weekend with a group of 12 friends and this place had more than enough space, the house is way larger than it looks in photos! Very private location on a huge property, quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend!!
Our 3 generations thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend. The space was perfect and comfortable. We originally thought it was going to seem like a long drive to the hill but it wasn't at all. The extra suite option was fantastic especially for the youngest grandchild (she turned 1 on the weekend) and family. The large dining table for meals and card games was perfect. The games available, games room and hot tub feature were a highlight. Thank you! We'd love to return.
Great location for skiing. Spacious home with a lot of character. Pretty basic on provisions, low water pressure and had to run out for toilet paper and trash bags, so come prepared. Responsive owner when concerns arose. Overall good place for a large group to spread out, especially with extra suite added to booking.
We have been coming to holiday Valley for five years With our family and grandchildren! This home was beautiful, met all of our expectations plus some. The location to the town and slopes were great. The amenities in the home was just as it was written on the listing. The kitchen was very well stocked. We also rented the suite that I highly recommend as it gives you more room and an extra kitchen.!! The house was very clean and wonderful living space for our family. Kids had fun playing air hockey.! I would highly recommend this home to rent to anyone thinking of renting a home in this area. We will definitely rent here again.!!
First of all, I was reluctant to leave a review because I could not give it a 5-star rating, which is what we have done at all the other rentals our family has ever stayed. We had a mini family reunion with 6 adults (ages 34-72) and one 2-year old. House is in a nice, quiet location not far from town, where there is a grocery store, shopping, and several nice restaurants. Everything we needed was supplied. The many bedrooms allowed everyone to have their own space. Communication with the owners was excellent. Niagra Falls and Letchworth State Park are about one hour's drive from the house, and highly recommended to visit. There were some things we all thought could be a little better. The floors and microwave did not appear to be professionally cleaned, so I swept the floors and also cleaned the microwave. Our family always tries to leave the rentals in better condition than when we first arrived. The vacuum cleaner that was there was not working very well when we went to vacuum. With one exception, the bathrooms were in good working order. The bathroom that my wife and I stayed in could probably be improved. The shower water flow was extremely weak, and when we turned on the bathroom sink faucet, it smelled like methane gas fumes were emitted, so we did not use it. I don't remember seeing in the listing that hunting season is October through December and hunters are allowed to park next to the house. This also restricted our use to hike the many acres on the property.
Very clean and well maintained! Prefect for a large group
The house and property were wonderful! We had a group of 6 adults and 8 kids and we never felt cramped or crowded. We were also very pleasantly surprised at how little noise travelled through the home! We had a couple of little ones (and a couple of *ahem* older ones) with early bedtimes and they were never disturbed them. The house was very clean and well maintained. There were lots of notes around to help us find linens, figure out how to work things, etc. Very helpful! Plenty of pots and pans and dishes for a large crowd, plenty of towels as well! Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water to make it through a large group. Foosball and air hockey were a huge hit! We also enjoyed the hot tub and loved the creek and trail on the acreage. The fire pit was great and we loved BBQing on the patio.
A couple of things that aren't complaints as much as things to be aware of: we had NO cell service. Everyone had AT&T as a carrier and we would occasionally get a text through, but for the most part we had to get a few miles from the house for any reception. The Wi-Fi was a bit sporadic as well... but several of the older kids had phones and were trying to use the Wi-Fi along with all of the adults. I think we overloaded the satellite service! It was really a nice little reprieve other than a bit of anxiety on my part because I wasn't able to communicate with clients for work unless we left the house.
The only other thing to note- it is an old farmhouse, and it is not continually occupied. It was a bit musty, particularly in the living room, and that caused some allergy issues for a few in our group. We had lovely weather the first couple of days and were able to open windows and air it out a bit and that helped! Just know if you have allergy sensitive people in your group, it would be a good idea to pack some allergy meds just in case.
Everyone in our group was VERY happy with the home and our stay! The owners were very nice and quick to respond. We would definitely rent it again if we return to the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the house very functional for our 5 families of small children! We pretty much had a bed for everyone (we used one twin blow up mattress) and the number of bathrooms were perfect! Yes the house is dated, but we were there to ski and we weren't looking for top of the line! Kids and adults loved the foosball table! Some adults said they would love a hot tub but some said the hot tub wasn't a big deal! The kitchen was functional. You may want to buy a set of good knives... We cooked a lot. Also maybe a couple of large frying pans. The large dining table was great! We did have kids and hardwoods may be easier in the eating area. The large screen TV was great for the men! And we loved the entry way... It was great for coming in out of the snow and taking off all the gear! The one main suggestion is at check out. We followed all instructions and they were fine except putting away the clean dishes. We all had to be at slopes by 10 so getting things clean and dishes in the washer weren't a big deal but you want the clean dishes put away. We left the house with the dishwasher running which is what we have done in the past and the cleaning crew puts dishes up... We did forget some eye glasses so I went back and did unload the clean dishes but you may need to tweak that part of check out....it just takes too long to wait for dishwasher especially if you cook breakfast in the morning... Having the suit was a must for us. Bed was a little small for two adults... Maybe a queen could fit in there? Overall, great house!! One suggestion for giving directions... We all GPSd it but we found out there were different routes. Advise your guests to not take the route that takes you on California Hill Road. It is really dark and very steep/slick for driving at night in snowy weather! Thanks so much!!!! I'd be happy to talk over any of my suggestions!!!!
Loved the large kitchen and dining room! The table was great for all of us (12+high chair) to eat together and play games. The hot tub was large and very relaxing!
The property is beautiful, there were wild flowers along all the paths. There were 16 of us and everyone had space. We would definitely come back here again.đș
We had two grandparents, one set of parents, and 4 kids (8-15) and everyone slept comfortably though we wish we added the inlaw suite as an awesome addition.
Dining/Kitchen: fully freaking stocked. Aluminum foil, spices, enough plates for an army. And big to boot. Dining room was huuge and the grill was awesome. So much room for games and movies at night.
Bedrooms: Exactly what you see in the pics. Almost identical in fact. Tons and tons of beds. Clean sheets towels everywhere.
Bathrooms: one was just painted and had not hung up towel racks. Other than that, so much storage, clean, roomy, and good water pressure.
Property: top notch exactly as described. We creek stomped, hiked for hours and hours. Found a lake 1/2 mile from the property (donât think it was in the 200 acres) Stariest nights of our lives out there. Firepit and hottub were a HIT!! Perfect set up entire trip!
Other: Huuuuge laundry room. Game room was a freaking blast for the kids. Little pond and two swinging benches were awesome additions. Stairs were NOT steep in home.
Stuff to do: we went 4th weekend. Hit rodeo, and fireworks/concert which was awesome. Found Spruce Lake (on top of Holiday Valley resort) caught 6 fish! There were places with awesome food, live music. Weekends they had shops/tents set up. Great for all ages, couples young/older. There is a wine shop, grocery store, pizza/fast foodâŠ..all of the above listed ONLY 10 MINUTES away. Yes 10 minutes.
Drove one hour to see Niagara and another day drove an hour to Darien Lake 6 Flags.
Could not have been a more perfect trip and home/property. We didnât need to contact the hosts once, only text to check out. Not one complaint from any of the family.
Treat this place well, been in their family 4 generations and from the guest book we read (and signed) has housed soooo many amazing memories for families for over a decade. We were able to add one more!!
All 16 of us enjoyed our stay at Creekside Escape from December 26-December 30. It was truly an unique experience for all of us. It is an unforgettable awesome stay celebrating Christmas and a 50th birthday. We want to come again.
We rented this place for my sister for her 30th birthday weekend and it was one of the most amazing places weâve probably ever stayed at.
The check in process was simple the whole place was spotless clean and it was just one of the biggest places we had ever stayed at we absolutely loved the decor in each room and how each room had its own personality.
The outside views are definitely amazing the whole property is just a site to behold and the hosts are definitely some of the most easiest going people.
Thanks for making my sisters birthday so amazing. This place is phenomenal!
This family estate is now managed by my brother and I. As kids we would come to this family farm and work the fields, take care of the animals and love the outdoors. With 15 years of upgrades, this restored farm home is yours to enjoy for some quiet time in the country, but near skiing, hunting, fishing and more.
You will enjoy a 19th century restored home passed down through 4 generations. Our Great Grandfather purchased the property in the 1918, where it was a prosperous farm for nearly 100 years. With near proximity to Holiday Valley and Holimont in Ellicottville, NY, the home was converted to a B&B 15 years ago. Now this home is fully available for your family with up to 6 bedrooms and 5 baths. Includes unique features such as the stone fireplace our grandfather built. Sits near Mansfield creek where you can fish for an afternoon or take a hike amongst the 200 acres of timber, pasture and scenic paths.
Conveniently located near holiday valley for skiing, golf and snowboarding. Country snowmobile trail (S35) is 200 yards from the house. . Bring your own snowmobiles and jump on the trails in minutes. In the warmer climate, you'll enjoy fishing, hiking or hunting on our nearly 200 acres of wooded hills. Golfing and the Mountain Coaster is only 10 minutes away at Holiday Valley Resort
