Large house with plenty of room. Everything worked as expected. Quiet neighborhood on the island. Property ran right up to the water. It's a great are to go and get away for a weekend or longer. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed at Malâs house it is amazingly beautiful! The flowers were beautiful, we arrived at the perfect time. The decor and every room was perfect. We were all overjoyed with the location. My mom and Aunt 89 and 90 years young could not get over the gorgeous back yard we had Turkeyâs, and chicks a doe and her fawn along with ducks wandering through. We are all ready to make our next planned trip.
We really enjoyed our stay in this home. It's very spacious, with a nice backyard, and the rooms are very comfortable. While it's not directly on the water, it's still a lovely spot on Orr's Island. The communication with the host was excellent. Beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything needed--even a lobster pot! The room with the twin beds was adorable. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms (master is on the main level) are steep, but typical for a New England home of that age.
The house was great! It was so clean and the location was perfect for us being so close to where our friends were getting married. We would definitely come back!
We loved this cottage. The backyard space and the sunset views from there were amazing! The location is great and we were able to explore Harpswell without feeling rushed. Mallory had great suggestions for things to do. It was a great stay!
We had a lovely stay at Orr House. Joan and Mallory are great! The location is beautiful! We appreciated seeing the wildlife including deer, turkeys, heron, and groundhog.
The place was peaceful, adorable, comfortable, and in a great location. Mallory was easy to get ahold of and we had everything we needed for a week's stay. Thanks, Mallory!
Stayed for a few days with friends. Mal was easy to work with and was so great to our group. House was perfect for our needs...a place to stay and hang out. We were able cook meals and get around.
Orr House is an absolute gem ! It is comfortable, spacious, and well outfitted with everything you might possibly need. The property is serene and rolls along to the water. Sunsets are gorgeous right from the backyard. We felt surrounded by nature, and enjoyed watching a turkey family, deer, dicks, and many birds.
It was a joy for us to stay in this historic home, and our hosts Mallory and her mother Joan made our week complete!
A great place to stay and enjoy all that "Down East" Maine has to offer. Great location on Orr Island (close to Portland and Booth Bay Harbor), about half way between Boston and Acadia National Park.
Clean, quaint, and with all the amenities you could need, this was the perfect home for us to stay for our Maine getaway.
Perfect for small family Reunion in beautiful Maine
We felt that warmness a being in a home rather than a manufactured feeling of a hotel !
The dinning room was just the right size for all of us to enjoy our meals together!
Much laugher and fond memories from our visit at the Orr House Thank you
We really enjoyed staying at "quaint antique" home. It was very spacious, well decorated with a modern and vintage mix, and comfortable. A good location on Orr's Island and about two minutes by car from Bailey Island. It fit the bill as a home away from home.
Beautiful and charming vintage cottage where the grounds roll down to the water. Abundant charm, super clean, close to town, restaurants and trails. We couldnât ask for anything better. Loved everything.
This was a lovely place to stay. I felt right at home in the old house (we live in a 1911 bungalow in Tulsa, so I'm familiar with old house quirks). Being able to walk down to the water was a lovely surprise as well.
The property was exactly as described and more. It had lots of spices, condiments, coffee & filters (drip coffeemaker). The large living groom had plenty of sitting areas. It also had a cute reading nook with tons of books and another TV. Be sure to walk down the back at sunset!
The house was a nice place to stay at. Everything was clean when we arrived. We didn't experience any issues during our stay. They had provided everything that you needed for your stay.
They have a nice walkway down to the water.
I would recommend to others and would stay there again the next time we visit.
We purchased this home after years of summering on Orr's Island. The home is very special to the family as it was my grandmother's residence and my parents' home for a number of years. My parents now live nearby and we have chosen to share this lovely spot for others to enjoy.
The location of this property is ideal for day trips in the midcoast area and has all the great charm an island vacation can provide. Cool ocean breezes keep the climate temperate and the salt ocean air is soothing to the soul.
On a summer night enjoy the stars easily visible without all the light pollution that you would experience in a city. Catch some fireflies and watch for deer and turkeys parading around in the moonlight.
