My family, including elderly parents, couldn't have asked for a better house. The house was very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the pool and beautiful views made for a great vacation. The home owner, Celeste, and the property manager, Rocky, were very helpful and easy to communicate with. I would absolutely stay here again.
Beautiful serene private Unbelievable views from every angle Owners nearby and helped us from the airport to the grocery store and then to the house. Going to visit again next year!!
House is so roomy. Everything you need is supplied! The kitchen amazing. The pool amazing. Comfy beds. Three weeks of bliss. Felt like I was leaving home after three weeks.
The views from both sides of the house are truly breathtaking. The house itself was very big and well-equipped with everything, including a high chair and playpen for babies. There's a grill which my husband used a few nights. The property is peaceful. Rocky the manager was very nice and helpful.
Very spacious lovely home! 4 bedrooms, 3 baths! Huge livingroom and kitchen! Lots of extra ammenities! Beautiful spacious decks and lovely, private swimming pool. Pool toys, beach chairs, towels, beach toys, and ice chest were just icing on the cake! Made our stay that much more easy and convenient! Rocky was so friendly and informative as our host! If you're looking for a place to stay, we highly recommend!
Everything about this stay was absolutely wonderful. The property was amazing the host was very friendly and helpful I would definitely recommend a stay at this property.
The views from all sides of the property were AMAZING!
We loved the privacy of this location, the amazing views, and spacious house.
Thank you for a great family vacation!
This place was amazing all around. Views canât be beat. Sunrises, sunsets and star gazing from the huge deck are really cool. The location on the east end of the island is quiet and close to great beaches that arenât so crowded, including Isaac and Jack Bay which need to be hiked to be reached and those hikes are worth it. House is well stocked with everything including beach chairs, coolers and other items to make it easy to enjoy the beaches. The house is huge. We had 8 people and there was more than enough space. The inside is very nice and clean and set up really well for large groups or just a couple. You will be very happy holding this place.
We had an issue come up with our rental, the hosts discussed with us and we came up with an amicable solution. These are good hosts and good business people.
The property and communication was perfect. There was an issue with the electricity in one bathroom, which was a bit tricky at night, but Celeste and Matt did all they could to lessen the impact for us. Great spot for families, with room for everyone to have their own space and their down time.
The views alone are worth every cent.
Short answer, we canât wait to return and will stay at here again! Super good communication with Matt (host) and such a beautiful excellent property. We wouldnât have changed a thing. He came and met us at the airport and led us back to the property (we had rental cars) since GPS isnât the greatest on the island. He had cold air conditioning (whole house) and additional units in bedrooms. He had a very convenient and delicious ice maker and a water dispenser with very good tasting and refreshing water. Highly recommend and will stay again!!!
Really beautiful location! Great host! Matt was super responsive and met us at airport and waited while we went grocery shopping. He brought coffee when we ran out and provided towels, chairs, coolers, Bluetooth speaker, and snorkel gear. Loved how close a couple of the beaches were! There were also condiments at the house which was convenient. Donât buy syrup! LoL. A couple of outlets did not work as they are upgrading and the hot water in one shower did not work for a couple days but the other showers worked. The beds and linens were all very comfy. Plenty of space to hang! We highly suggest this location! Loved Ziggys and Dugans Reef and Castaways. All very close!
The owners could not have been nicer or more helpful. The house was the best equipped I have ever stayed in from the kitchen amenities to pool and beach toys to new yoga mats. It has a great open layout. Really has only 3 legitimate bedrooms as the 4th, which is an office with a bed on one wall, has no drawers or closet or bedside table and lamp. The furnishings in the house were quite tired and frayed and largely a mishmash of styles. The throw rugs were scary in terms of what germs might be in them.
We worked around the inconveniences and had a wonderful time.
Spacious comfortable space indoors with large common area and gigantic couch. Balconies/deck on east side and pool with table/chairs and overlook on west side made for so many great spots to spend time and catch sunrises and sunsets. And the star gazing was spectacular!Matt was a wonderful host who was available and quickly and reliably responsive, and lives in a separate building on site, but is not at all intrusive. Kitchen had every appliance/utensil possible, and the outdoor grill was large and worked great. We grilled a 9lb fresh caught red snapper on it one evening. Had everything we needed for that and then some. Delish! And the ice machine was a magical treat to have throughout our visit!Place had snorkel gear, beach chairs, thermoses, life vests, beach towels, inflatables, coolers, etc etc. Only difficulty was wifi did not work the 6 days we were there. Some of us had solid cell signal and some did not except when the wind blew just right. I might be hesitant to stay here if I knew I needed wifi access to be able to work remotely, but since we were there to get away, it's absence was a welcome bonus by some in our group anyway! Host is in process of addressing it, so it may not be an ongoing issue, but it is also consistent with the more remote nature of the east end of island. Overall would absolutely recommend! It's truly beautiful and well equipped with so many items!
Thank you so much for the hospitality. Everything was above and beyond our expectations, really provided a great stay and memories that will last forever! 10/10
We felt the property was good for our stay. It is a little far from everything but that worked for us. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is tired but serviceable. Hosts were great.
Can only describe with one word , amazing . Matt was amazing , met us at the airport. Took us to the store and showed us the way back to the house. House was immaculate. Fully stocked with anything you could ever need cooking wise and little extras. Highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful location and views. Truly paradise. Tons of space in the common areas with a large northeast facing deck and southwestern facing patio with a great pool. Sliding doors to the patio and pool securely lock, which was important traveling with our infant and toddler. Very clean. Has tons of cooking essentials which is super helpful. Also has a highchair which was great for our infant. Matt was great to work with. Attentive and available as needed. I would hdefinitely recommend this property and hope to stay there again!
House had beautiful views and a nice pool. Appreciate the pool floats. Location is very private except the owner does stay on the property in the cottage next to the house. There were some things that were good and some things not so good. Sliding doors kept getting stuck. Never could lock the master bedroom slider. Ice machine stopped working after a day, pans to cook with were poor, and the house needed a good cleaning. One guest said the electric outlets didnât work in her bedroom/bath. (Take your own hairdryer-the ones there are not great) I didnât go on vacation to clean. Nice area to stay at, close to all we wanted to do, and the ocean breeze made it a joy to be outside. Lots of beautiful flowers and plants. If the house had been clean I would have given a higher ranking. No pillow protectors which grossed us out. We did enjoy coming back to STX, we owned a home there for a few years so I understand the challenges of island living, and probably couldnât rent to people- that takes guts. All and all, it could have been a perfect place, just needs some maintenance and attention to things that matter to guests.
Matt and Celeste Jarvis have a special place in their hearts for St. Croix. The couple met there, were married there and are now retired there. Celeste grew up on the St. Croix and the beauty and wonder of the island led to her becoming an environmental scientist. Both Matt and Celeste had successful careers working with NASA and NOAA, and raised a family in Davidsonville, Maryland. Currently, Matt is an artist specializing in island landscapes and Celeste supports environmental sustainability of the island ecology.
East End Overlook is special to the couple. Celeste grew up just a down the hill on Grapetree Bay, where she spent her childhood exploring the natural beauty of the preserved Jack's and Issac's Bays. Matt and Celeste met on Grapetree Beach, were married in St. Patrick's Church, and held the reception in St. George's Botanical Gardens. When looking for property on St. Croix, sea, beach and mountain views were high on the priority list as well as continuous breezes. The couple's knowledge and love of the island helped them select the perfect place that any traveler will fall in love with.
East End Overlook is on the less populated east end of the island, close to the largest contiguous preserved land area on the island. Overlooking several spectacular beaches and the longest living coral reef in the Caribbean. Close to local restaurants and resorts, travelers will never run out of new places to explore. Whether you enjoy ecotourism or comfortable accommodations, East End Overlook will provide the ideal vacation.
