Well appointed and immensely comfortable property, located in a very quiet area with great access to bike path and central to all the driftless region sights and activities! The hosts are very responsive and provided everything needed for a great stay!
This is a cozy, delightful little spot in the middle of Wisconsin. We had a nice 3 day stay with no issues at all. The Depot was always nice and warm and welcoming.
Beautiful location. Awesome, responsive hosts! We had a great time exploring the Wisconsin river and the surrounding areas. We will definitely be back when the weather is warmer! Go to the bat cave!
Our 2nd visit to the Depot Chalet and we had the best time. A perfect weekend to spend relaxing in such a warm and cozy home. The hosts were amazingly accommodating and friendly. A perfect location to enjoy history and sightseeing. We are looking forward to planning our next visit!
We loved our stay! It was a nice quiet neighborhood, loved the trail behind the home and had a very relaxing time. The home was clean, comfortable and had all that we needed. The host were kind and very responsive.
Beautifully decorated and very clean. We were going to American Players Theater and the drive there and back was relatively quick. This might be an annual retreat for us!
Clean, cozy and quiet. Short drive to either Richland Center or Spring Green for site seeing, groceries and restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay. Great communication by propertyâs manager.
Weâd stay again!
We enjoyed our stay at your lovely, beautifully decorated depot. The pictures online do not do it justice. The nature path nearby was ideal for morning walks. It was the perfect peaceful getaway.
This is a cool little property. The entire location is included. It is really well done inside. The outside could use painting but inside is great. Gotham is out there so be ready to enjoy the countryside
A very cute, cozy, lovely little cottage. The inside is really nice, the outside is worn but it is an old building. A nice mix of old with a touch or modern convenience of electricity and plumbing. We would stay here again if coming back to this area.
We were very impressed with the charm and beautify on the interior of this jewel. We wanted to escape for the weekend, and this place was perfect. Quiet, and so well decorated that we just didn't want to leave.
The trail adjacent to the property was easy to walk and quiet as well.
Our first thought when we walked into the place was "we want to guy this". It's such a lovely stay.
My third stay at the lovely, comfortable, welcoming, and very charming Gotham Depot. We come for the APT performances, and then enjoy cooking up wonderful meals at the cottage, and finishing the evening around the firepit with long of fireside chats!! The cottage is spacious, yet cozy. Highly recommended. Hosts are very accessible and gracious. Thanks for making this great spot available for visitors!
Quiet, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with just the right decor touches to visually excite and inspire a return visit. Hosts Ross & Theresa were readily available for questions and were a delight to meet and talk with. Will definitely consider another stay at the Depot Chalet.
A BIG thank you for a delightful stay and a note to say it was our all-time favorite place above all others we've encountered!
The house itself is so cool and unique- really beautiful! I also so much appreciate that the beds are comfy, nice quality sheets and pillows, and nice fluffy bath towels. Sometimes rental owners skimp on those- not here. Also had a little snafu with the house- nobodyâs fault- and the owners were so kind and responsive to my needs. They are wonderful and attentive people and truly care that their guests have an amazing experience.
We spent a week at the Depot while touring Wisconsin chasing the fall colours.
We loved the decor of the cottage, the beds were comfortable & we enjoyed the country vibes.
As the Depot is in quite an isolated position you need to consider bringing basic supplies with you. E.g milk etc. we only found out about the lack of onsite shopping when we arrived late at night. We found out where a supermarket was, once we arrived & read the information sheet. Richlands Center was a valuable resource for diner breakfast & Walmart!
Ross and Theresa Halverson, owners. The two are crazy for unique properties. They renovated several and in fact have just finished (well almost) renovating an old 1856 flour mill into their home and it has been featured in a well known magazine Country Living Magazine Jan/Feb issue 2017. Theresa is an interior decorator and an oil painting artist , Ross is supposed to be retired but Theresa keeps him busy! He enjoys old cars and creating pieces of art from old found things. Theresa has lived in this area all her life while Ross moved to this area 40 years ago from a few hours away. There next adventure? They are talking about renovating an old small greenhouse and blacksmith shop into another unique vacation rental property. These two are always dreaming! Their motto â If it isnât old and unique we donât want itâ.
This depot sits right next to a beautiful, scenic bike trail which used to be the railroad tracks. Great biking and hiking! Just a little over a mile away in town is a boat landing on the Wisconsin River.
