We visited to celebrate my son's graduation. The house was very comfortable and the views were spectacular. We enjoyed spending days by the pool and going down to the Cove to snorkel. Chef. Shelley was amazing and made our stay even better. Delicious dinners and wonderful breakfast! We enjoyed the location and really enjoyed the coal pot for dinner one night. Sea spray cruises was amazing! We private chartered a catamaran for a day and included tours like visiting the volcano and mud baths as well as a rum and chocolate tasting snorkeling in two different areas. Everyone had a wonderful time and I highly recommend using Gus as your driver! Thank you. Secret Cove, for a wonderful celebration week!
Location of house was awesome. We loved snorkeling every day right by the house. More than enough room for our group of 8. Rosemary, the host was very responsive, as was Kevin, house manager. We used Gus for some of our travel needs and he was wonderful. You will have a great stay at Secret Cove Villa!
The house was super, plenty of bedrooms to accommodate all. Kitchen was fully functional - great for in house meals. Beaudiful view from the deck, amazing sun sets. Kids enjoyed the pool and ocean access for snorkeling.
We were met by Gus at the airport, a broad smile that made us feel safe and welcomed. Arriving to Secret Cove we were met by Rosemary and Barbara who gave us a glass of sangria and a tour of the house reassuring us we could call if we had any questions or concerns. The beautiful house and large kitchen with views from every room enticed us to explore the pool at sunset. We were surprised when an enormous cruise ship passed quietly, so close it was magnificent to see! Gus picked us up to take us to the grocery stores so we could get everything we needed and he told us about the island he loves. St Lucia has so much to see and enjoy. The food everywhere we went was fresh and delicious. If you are traveling with a group this house is perfect!
This is an incredible property enhanced by the people who make everything happen. Rosemary was fantastic in terms of making sure everything was ready when we arrived, Gus made sure we got everywhere we needed to go, and the food prepared by Chef Shelly was incredible.
Couldn't ask for more when it comes to the house itself. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and three members of our extended family. 90% of our time was split between the deck and the pool. The pictures don't do it justice. And the cove truly did provide for some incredible snorkeling. Easy 10ish minute walk to Vigie Beach.
A week wasn't enough. Look no further and book this place if it is available.
The Villa is beautiful and very well maintained. We would definitely want to come back on any future visit to St. Lucia. Rosemary is very prompt with all communication and clearly wants the best for her guests. The driver for the Villa, Gus, took up to 10 of us around to different parts of the island on 3 different days, and made the experience so much better with his knowledge, stress-free transportation and friendliness.
Our extended family of 8 had a wonderful stay in this villa, as it was well laid out, spacious, and had a wonderful pool and direct snorkeling access via stair to Secret Cove itself. Stunning sunsets every night, and cruise ship views were great as well. Central location in Castries was great to access both Rodney Bay and Soufriere easily, not to mention easy car rental at nearby SLU airport. Rosemary was highly responsive and filled with recommendations. Her staff from Sonia (house support), driver/tour guide Gus, and cook James were all outstanding - helpful and informative, and really excellent in their roles. Highly recommend this villa and all the delightful folks that do a terrific job and bring St. Lucian hospitality and culinary delights to life.
Beautifully maintained villa with nice bedrooms, lovely interior, and spectacular French Colonial porches looking out on 180 degree view of the Caribbean Ocean. Wonderful host and staff provided support but let us enjoy our private tropical paradise. We were able to cook together in modern kitchen, watch the sun go down and eat on the large porch off the high ceiling living room, and travel around the island for chocolate tours and birdwatching. We snorkeled in the little cove just below the house and swam in the pool. Absolutely fantastic!
This home was amazing. Great views and great people that helped during our stay. Gus was amazing and was able to take us wherever we needed, all the great reviews about him are true. Rosemary and Sonia were both available if needed. We did walk back from Vigie Beach one time, and it took us about 15ish minutes because you do have to walk up a big hill, so just be prepared for that. We were a group of 9 adults and we would definitely recommend this house to anyone and would definitely stay again if back in St. Lucia!
We stayed at Secret Cove Villa for a week and words cannot express what an amazing week we had. The Villa exceeded our very high expectations. Rosemary was extremely attentive throughout the process. Gus, the villa driver was fantastic. By the end of the week, he was like family. Sophia was wonderful to have clean daily. We had Charles (chef) cook our first day meal and it was worth it. Pixie provided massages one day and she is a true professional. Highly recommended. We enjoyed snorkeling and shell-hunting on the private beach. We bird-watched on the property, saw a sea turtle swim in one day, enjoyed morning coffee on the patio and watching the cruise ships come in and out of the harbor daily. I just sat on the patio staring at the sea every day and it...was...perfect. Thank you Rosemary and your crew!
Magnificent luxury villa - spacious and flawlessly decorated. Private pool overlooking the Caribbean was breathtaking! Spent many hours swimming, lounging and enjoying the view. Located at the entrance of a harbor we had a closeup view of the cruise ships entering and departing.
While we experienced a couple of mechanical issues, the owner addressed and remedied the issues immediately. Thank you Rosemary! Also a big thank you to our housekeeper Sonya! She did a great job and was pleasant, friendly and unobtrusive.
The villa had plenty of space for five couples. We enjoyed the many common gathering spaces yet there was plenty of space for alone time.
We couldnât have been happier with our choice of Secret Cove! Secret Cove has it all - view, spaciousness and luxury!
Secret Cove Villa is an awesome place to stay in St Lucia. The views from the home onto the ocean are outstanding, and we got daily sunsets. It rained a little almost every morning, so we also got some really pretty rainbows over the ocean. You can snorkel just steps from the property, and the beach is about a half mile walk on the other side of the peninsula. We also made extensive use of the private pool. We traveled with five adults and two infants, and there was plenty of room for everyone. There is daily maid service if you want it, and the local property manager is easy to reach. The property owner can arrange in-home chef services, spa services, and yoga instruction, and we used all of those multiple times. The property owner also has a driver, Gus, that can pick you up and drop you off at the airport. I would highly recommend using Gus since the roads aren't great and you drive on the left side of the road. We used Gus multiple times throughout our stay, and I can't say enough good things about him. We did a full-day tour to the Soufriere area with Gus, and he took us to all the main spots, but we also stopped at some hidden local treasures. All in all, it was a great vacation and a wonderful property. I would highly recommend staying here.
A Place Rich in Culture and a Piece of Paradise to Return to
Rosemary, from the very beginning was the most attentive and gracious host. This house and destination were a dream come true for all 7 of us. The house was immaculate, bigger than the pictures and the views were second to none. The only thing that could possibly outshine the house, pool and views were the impeccable "staff," which immediately felt like part of our family. Two members of our group wrote, "We have so many beautiful memories and feelings that we've brought back with us. One that stands out is Gus. Our worlds are so different, yet his passion for the island and all the gifts it gives will remain with us all. The whole experience would never have been possible without Gus. We hope he realizes his value in the sharing, keeping alive, and promoting the life and cultural history of St. Lucia. We thought this best expresses one of our families' treasures, which is Gus." Pixie has a gift in more than just the spa services she provides. She is full of profound wisdom and grace that you find in few people. Sonia and Gyver were so hardworking and attentive to any and all needs of the house and grounds. The "staff" truly made our stay feel like a home away from home. Our stay created a newfound love of St. Lucia and, most importantly, the island's people. We hope that we can one day return to this very property and island some day soon.
We rented this property never having been to Saint Lucia, and boy am I glad we did. My husband and I traveled with 2 other couples. There was more than enough space for us. We could have even fit more people and still not feel cramped. To the point that we never even used the upstairs living room, we mostly sat at the outdoor table and sitting area. The rooms are all well appointed with a bathroom and closet space. Thereâs also an extra half bath downstairs, which is nice to run in to use when youâre relaxing by the pool. The house faces westerly so the sunsets each night were spectacular. We utilized Chef James on our arrival night and the food was delicious and it was nice not having to worry about making a meal after traveling all day. We also used Pixie for spa services on 2 different days. She was super and definitely affordable! We had one issue with a shower head and it was resolved very quickly by Rosemary as she is always available for any issues. Sonia the housekeeper was also helpful if we had any questions. Our trip would not have been complete without Gus though. He knew more about the island than anyone and was also willing to share stories and secret spots to get the best pictures. Iâm glad we didnât rent a car and having Gus available to drive to the grocery store, Castries Market or even all the way to the Piton was great. I would definitely recommend staying here anytime youâre on island.
Villa is even better than photos. Very spacious with lots of room for adults to spread out. Great air con for sleeping in each room. Rosemary is the best host we have experienced re responsiveness and care. Great overall stay!
Highlights were James cooking for us over 4 nights. He accommodated vegan and gluten free dietary needs with ease and the remainder of us enjoyed fresh fish each night he cooked. Accomplished chef with a healthy local ingredient focus. Highly recommend and the convenience of lovely dining on the ocean front terrace!
As well, snorkeling from the rocky beach surpassed expectations. Better snorkelling than other beach locations (other than marine park at Sugar beach) and convenient and safe. Many species of fish. Habitat is natural and not pristine as it would be with a marine park but lots of fish. A wonderful surprise. Bring your own gear. Flippers not needed.
Highly recommend Coal Pot restaurant as well. Grocery store 5 min away and easy to buy what we needed.
We chose to rent a van and drive. Very experienced re LH side drive. BUT donât rely on google maps - we ended up on steep hairpin turn secondary routes. Required tremendous focus to drive in sections. While we went out on a trip every other day and short drives for dining or groceries we would likely choose to work with Gus next time and relax!!
Rosemary, thank you for your help and patience in the planning process for my husband's 80th birthday celebration. We absolutely loved your villa and all the pictures were true to the listing. Impressive kitchen that was very well equipped. From the moment we walked in the front door and welcomed by Sonia we were awed by the spaciousness and furnishings. Sonia was wonderful and attentive. Thank God for Gus he was a lifesaver. We used his car services all week. He was informative, knowledgeable, wonderful and friendly. Francis was a great driver and very pleasant. We had planned to use Chef James but when we called he was not in St. Lucia. He put us in touch with another chef but it did not work out for us. Loved the fruit trees on the property and we enjoyed a few ripe mangoes. Property was also spacious enough for my grandsons to catch baseball. The basketball net was also great. After I saw it I asked Sonia and she brought a ball for them to play. The only downfall for our stay was that we had the torrential rain all week and it prevented us from doing several activities. We would have loved to see the sunshine that all the pictures of St. Lucia show. We did see two rainbows. We would definitely LOVE to come back in the future. Thank you again Rosemary, your home is just beautiful.
Rosemary and team made it a great holiday. We stayed with a couple families and kids. The vista over the bay was great (with sunsets and ships) and bonus was the snorkeling from the beach. It was as good as some of the places we had been taken on boat trips. We had been worried about the proximity to the small airport or cruise ships but it was really quiet. The chef and massages were a nice plus. Nice beach is a short walk that kids could do. Would recommend renting a car though.
Having rented villas on VRBO for several years I can say that this was a top notch villa! Further, Rosemary, the owner, was the best I have ever dealt with, super timely and clear with communication, incredibly kind, but also going above and beyond to assist during our stay! The villa has a lovely private staircase down to the sea which was great for snorkeling, the pool was perfect, the villa itself extremely comfortable. I highly recommend Gus and Frances, our driver and guides for the week, they made it all so fun. Thanks Rosemary!!!!
As this was our first time to St Lucia we couldnât ask for a better villa to stay at. Rosemary greated us at her villa after arranging to have the 10 of us picked up at the airport. The villa is breathtaking with anything you would need. We were all overwhelmed as the first and every day we experienced watching the cruise ships go right by the villa to dock In Castries. There is a chef Jimmy that made us an incredible dinner on site! Sonya was there to make sure if there was a problem it was corrected. As we didnât have a vehicle Rosemary connected us with Gus and he took us all over the island which was a blessing. The beach is a little walk but very nice. The pool was very refreshing as all of used it daily. I will recommend this villa highly to any large group as we all had our own bathrooms to match our 5 bedrooms that we used!
Ok so we were a group of 10 adults and this place was perfect for us.
Pros: immaculately clean. Almost 180 degrees view of the water from the deck or pool. (Like no bs the view is amazing). Private rocky beach is cool. Affordable! Communication the whole time. If you needed cabs, tours, etc. rosemary has a hook for it all.
Cons: itâs not really close to anything walking distance. The little hot tub is not an actually hot tub just alittle pool with jets. Make sure you bring your own speaker, no speakers there.
For me the Pros outweigh the cons a million times over.
Loved the place.
My name is Rosemary and I built Secret Cove Villa. I was born in St. Lucia, but spent most of my earlier life in London as a student. After studying, I worked for many years in London. I returned to St. Lucia after spending 15 years in the UK. My then husband died very suddenly at the age of 48. Two years later, I decided to build Secret Cove as a new home for myself and our three children Gianni, Alanna and Kevin. Alas, children grow up, and leave home creating an empty nest. The home had definitely become too large for one person. With the advent and popularity of vacation rentals, I thought it would be a good way to share my home when I was travelling or off Island. I enjoy travelling and cooking, especialy foods from other cultures. I find travelling the greatest education there is. Most of our guests are visiting the Island for the first time, I enjoy sharing small hidden treasures "Far from the Madding Crowd!!" I invite you to come and stay at Secret Cove. I'm certain you'll find your own Secret spot. You will feel the love at all times đ!!! Come, stay.
Vigie Peninsula is a very desirable residential area in St. Lucia, and most of the homes there belong to established families on the Island. Vacationing on an Island is all about balmy breezes, the beautiful blue sea, coconut water and good food. Secret Cove lends itself to true Caribbean living, with a little luxury. Walk around the fenced grounds, smell the flowers and partake of the fruit. There is something unique about us. Many guests say that we look a lot better than the photos. Come and see for yourself.
Adjoining Secret Cove is a hidden treasure best known as Meadows Battery. The Battery was built by the British in 1898 as a look out point to defend the French from the Island. From that lookout area, French ships could be seen approaching the Island from Martinique. St. Lucia was 7 times British and 7 times French, until the island was captured by the English and remains to this day a British territory. The remains of that history is immediately next door to Secret Cove. There you will find underground prisons, where the French soldiers caught as prisoners were kept. Begin exploring and take some great memories in photos back home with you. Perfect for an afternoon walk.
