Conçu comme un paradis privé pour deux adultes seulement, Bonita Vista est situé au centre et facile d'accès, mais très privé. Cette nouvelle retraite à flanc de colline dispose d'un grand bar de piscine couvert avec une vue imprenable sur la réserve faunique nationale de Vieques et la mer des Caraïbes.
Nos invités d'avril 2018 ont écrit dans notre livre d'or: "Nous n'aurions pas pu avoir une maison plus belle et confortable loin de chez nous. Un endroit très spécial à coup sûr. "

Un après-midi relaxant au bord de la piscine se glisse facilement dans l'heure du cocktail au coucher du soleil et le dîner du grill. Peut-être une baignade sous les étoiles ou un lever de lune magique sur la baie!

Better than the pictures!

The first thing that attracts me to a rental property are the photos. I'm pretty sure that's how it works for everyone. The pictures for this place are gorgeous and they're perfectly taken, but they don't do the place justice. It's truly a little paradise and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. The bar/pool area was chic, well equipped, and comfortable, great for relaxing in the sun or stargazing at night. Located very close to the park entrance for the beaches and a local grocery store. The room was also incredibly accommodating for a couple who want to cook themselves some nights and the bed was very comfortable. It's also a few miles from Isabel II and Esperanza, so not a long way to travel but also far enough away to escape the sounds of traffic and others in the towns. Highly recommend.

Turnkey Paradise!

There have been countless favorable reviews of Kris and Barbara's place in recent years, and we are now proud to say each and every one is 100% accurate! Every 'box is checked' from the views to the amenities and tranquility. If I had one concern all week, it was that the blender motor would hold out! LOL. Thank you again gracious hosts!

Peaceful retreat

Four days was not long enough! I agree that photos do not do this property justice. That view!! Plus stargazing at night, lush surroundings, comfortable well equipped studio. The location between Isabel Segundo and Esperanza was convenient to everything. Communication with the owners was seamless from start to finish. We would gladly return!

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in Vieques. Kris picked us up at the airport in his car, which we rented for the week, which was extremely handy. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent and the check-in process seamless. The casita was perfect for two. Clean, private, well-equipped, with an amazing ocean vista over the green of the island. Kris was available whenever necessary but gave us our complete privacy otherwise. Wonderful property, we'd stay again without hesitation!

Extraordinary Hillside Paradise

We just returned from a 4 day stay at Bonita Vista and I wish we had stayed longer! The property has expansive views over the wildlife preserve to the sea,enjoyed from either your sitting area outside your cabin or from the lounge chairs of your private pool cabana. I found it very hard to leave the property and explore the island! The landscaping is just a tropical paradise. We had everything we needed, lots of beach towels, beach chairs and even a cooler was provided for our outings. Kris and Barbara are very thoughtful hosts, the map marked with special spots was very appreciated. Thank you again for creating such a perfect place to stay!

Exceptional!

This is a perfect place to stay on Vieques. The cottage is lovely. The pool and pool bar are delightful. Everything you need to enjoy a stay is at hand, from cooking at home to cooling off after a day exploring or at the beach. Hosts Kris and Barbara have thought of everything and are incredibly responsive and helpful. You'll delight in listening for roosters, horses, and birds from your exceptional perch above the preserve overlooking the Caribbean. Truly among the best.

Amazing!

Stayed at Bonita Vista for 10 days. Been coming to Vieques for now our 12th year. Barbara said that the property was "a labor of love " for her husband Kris. No doubt they put in a lot of hours of hard work and it really shows. We absolutely loved it there! From the perfect little cottage to the very cool bar and pool area. The view was spectacular as well. Pretty much located between Esperanza and Isabel so getting around was easy with "Matilida" our somewhat old but feisty little golf cart! It is the perfect place for a couple to enjoy time together. We hope to go back next year. Thank you Barb and Kris!

Absolutely Lovely

The pictures do NOT do it justice. This place is breath taking. Lush, green, nature all around you. Full and total privacy even though they live right on the property. Accessible via golf cart. The house is small but perfect for a short stay. We were there for 7 days. All the things you need for cooking. And we can’t say enough how wonderful Barbara and Kris are. We loved loved our stay and would come back again anytime!

Prettier than the pictures

An extraordinary property, and as others have reviewed, the views are amazing. Morning with the roosters, birds, and horses, and star gazing at night. We rented the vehicle from Kris and Barbara, and roamed the island which has a variety of road conditions. Entry and exiting the cottage is a challenge due to a steep and slanted grade as well a a sharp turn. We prepared most of our meals at the cottage, and ate at the pool bar. Gas grill was clean, and WiFi was good. The bioluminescent tour at Mosquito Bay is a must do. Highly recommend this property. Kris and Barbara are fabulous hosts.

Beautiful View and Central location

This is well appointed clean studio and the view is fantastic from the pool bar!!! I would book it if you are looking at it! We enjoyed it every day - eating outside with the view, relaxing with a book by the pool. The hosts were very nice and gave a great overview at the beginning and then we felt like we had the view, pool and of course the studio all to ourselves. We used the kitchen and fridge - well appointed for cooking with everything you need and spices/condiments that folks left behind. Thanks for sharing your wonderful place!

Just what we were looking for!

We were looking for a place to completely relax with a beautiful view, kitchen, pool and privacy. This was the perfect choice. Access to their car was a great benefit, including airport pick up and drop off. We had everything we needed to make our own meals, pack lunches, beach chairs and towels, cooler, etc. Shower was awesome - warm and great pressure which you don't always find with a rainfall shower. Everything is so close, yet we were often the only people on the beaches and hikes. Highly recommend it if you are looking for privacy, relaxation, pool, and amazing views!

Truely Paradise!

We spent 5 nights here and I did shed some tears leaving, it was so wonderful! The pictures do not do it justice. It is truly paradise. Barbara and Kris have created a wonderful escape here. They were the perfect hosts. We appreciated the map with all the information on it, very helpful! We also appreciated using the beach chairs, cooler, and snorkel equipment. Everything we needed was provided. We loved watching the sun come up over the ocean. We spend part of the day relaxing by the pool and part of the day exploring the island. We loved sailing, the bio bay, and horseback riding. We truly enjoyed every moment of our time there and hope to return some day!

Paradise Found

Thank you Barbara and Chris for being a part of our introduction to Vieques! Bonita Vista worked perfectly for us. It is the ideal place to relax and leave the work world behind - we even didn't mind the internet access being down during our visit! Everything was as advertised except the website photos don't give you the full 180° view that spoiled us while we were there. The entire place was spotless and Chris' landscaping is amazing. Being able to have the grill helped us enjoy some excellent eating (as well as a fine assortment of restaurants around the island). Everyone we met (locals and other travelers) added to a most pleasant experience. Truly a beautiful place. Our idea of a perfect Caribbean vacation!

Our Own Slice of Paradise!

Our first 5 nights in Puerto Rico were on the island of Vieques. We enjoyed our own modern, air conditioned, cottage and even had a pool and pool house adjacent to the cottage. The view over the wildlife refuge to various Caribbean bays and beaches was really wonderful. The setting had a rural feel that made us feel at home. The owners made sure that we got to the cottage and provided a map of the island with recom-mendations. We enjoyed being able to cook breakfast in the cottage though we had to try out a different restaurant each evening. The world's best bioluminescent bay is on Vieques, almost in view of the cottage. It is truly a "must do" experience! This property was a great place to call home for 5 nights. We were in need of that slower pace. Thanks for blessing us with your special place.

Beautiful and Magical!

Wonderful rental property!!!! My husband and I traveled for 5 days to Vieques and traversed the island commenting on how the location of this casita was PERFECT!!!! The view of the refuge is beautiful, calming and magical. The most gorgeous and non-populated beaches of white soft sand and calm, warm, bright blue waters are less than 10 minutes away, and the location is central and tucked away in quiet, peace and stillness. The room is equipped nicely, big fridge, stovetop, coffee and spices, lots of towels, etc.. The A/C is very powerful and beds/pillows extremely comfortable. The owners are thoughtful, and helpful. The bar/pool is perfect to grill up dinner and relax to the sounds of the birds (which we did!). Rental of the SUV from owners was more than convenient. We had not one complaint, and will plan to come back to this very same little piece of heaven. Thank you, Kris and Barbara. Tom and Tracy (late April/early May '22)

Private couples retreat!

Kris picked us up from the airport and gave us a quick run down of the town, Isabel Segunda, on our way to the property. Once there, his wife, Barbra, greeted us with a map and showed us around the property and the little bungalow. Their map was very useful when looking for restaurant ideas and beaches. They were kind and friendly and answered questions (text) promptly. The views from the covered “porch” area are even better in person. Star gazing from the pool was one of my fave nightly activities! The bungalow is well stocked for kitchen needs, the shower was so nice after a hot and exhausting day at the beach. The bed was really comfortable as well, that’s one of the biggest risks I think when renting is the bed, and they sure passed the test with theirs! AC worked like a champ! Curious little lizards come up around the porch area, we seen iguanas in the tree tops being clumsy, that was fun for us! Vieques is definitely one of the most magical places I have ever been, it is worth the trip to get there. This little bungalow was absolutely perfect for my husband and I, we’re grateful to have the memories we do of Vieques and this special property!

A private getaway with an incredible view!

My boyfriend I stayed here in October 2013 and cannot say enough good things about this rental! The guest cottage is a well-kept, updated studio, set off to the side of the owner's property. Our favorite part is the pool area with the deck and grill. We loved sitting out here during the evening with a glass of wine, enjoying the beautiful view. We're so happy we chose this elevated location, rather than a spot near the beach or in town. It's much more private and also allows for a stunning panorama of the ocean and lush greenery. Sunsets and sunrises are absolutely magnificent from this vantage point. It's important to note the Vieques is not walkable and you definitely need a car to experience the island, so it really doesn't matter if you aren't close to town or near a beach. The cottage is clean and has all the basic tools/appliances for cooking at home if you so choose. The owners are wonderful people who will most certainly make sure you're taken care of. They're fantastic at giving you privacy, too. In fact, we barely saw them at all--only on our first and last days. We highly recommend this VRBO for couples or friends who want to feel like they're "truly getting away from it all." Vieques is a magical island with delicious local food, hidden beaches and beautiful scenery. Thanks to Barbara and Kris for making our stay so enjoyable!

How Beautiful; One Week was Not Enough!

My wife and I have been traveling in Latin America for more years than we would like to admit. Once every few years, we find a gem to which we will return. To say Bonita Vista is one of those gems would be faint praise! Everything we love was wound up in this beautiful little island and spectacular property. The casita itself is appointed perfectly and the attention to detail was very impressive. Barbara & Chris took care of all our needs in a very understated manner. Relaxing and efficient would describe it well. The veranda (breakfast bar) and plunge pool were perfect for afternoon drinks, sunning, reading and cooling down. Also, having Rudy and Katie join us kept us from missing our pets as much as we usually do. I am usually afraid of late afternoon heat and sun on a tropical isle, but the cool breezes afforded us at Bonita Vista were refreshing but never too cold! Proximity to many beautiful beaches with soft waves and pristine sand; two interesting small towns with plenty of amenities and all of the fresh seafood we could want just kept adding to our enthusiasm. Make sure to visit in Isabella Segunda, the Pescaderia Angelyz for fresh fish, lobster and conch; the Conde de Mirasol Fortress with its interesting little museum and the Panaderia La Viequense for sweets (cheesecakes and brownies)! In Esperanza, the row of eating establishments (the grouper sandwich at Duffy's was a fave) and the interesting Vieques Conservation and Historical Trust were well worth a visit. All in all, the most satisfying vacation we have taken in years. Vieques reminded us of small, joyful, unspoiled places we found twenty-five to thirty years ago. As my wife said on the plane home, "I wasn't ready for this one to end! I would have liked a few more days." We will be retuning to the Casita Bonita Vista very soon (hopefully next year). Best Vacation EVER!

My girlfriend and I stayed here in August and had the most amazing experience! This was hands down the best vacation we have ever taken, due in large part to our gracious hosts Barbara and Kris and their breathtaking property. Barbara and Kris were extremely accommodating, arranging our pick up from the airport with Vieques Car Rental (who we strongly recommend- very friendly and helpful), and meeting us at the car rental office to show us the way to Bonita Vista cottage. We parked our car in their gated parking area right outside the cottage. Walking down the path to the cottage we were met with the most breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea, the pictures on the website do not do this property justice, I don’t think the beauty and peace you feel can be captured on film. You can really tell how much pride Barbara and Kris take in their property, it is meticulously taken care of, from the gorgeous landscaping to the pristine solar powered pool. The pool bar and pool were fabulous, we felt like we were at our own private, romantic resort. Although the pool is technically above ground, it has the feel of an infinity pool, set into the side of the mountain and overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Wildlife Refuge. Every morning we would make coffee and sit on the comfy chaise lounges enjoying the view. Barbara and Kris truly did think of everything, beach chairs, coolers, and even solar candles to use at night while stargazing poolside. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and stocked with all of the amenities you could ever need. Even being that we were in Vieques during the hottest month, we found during the day there was no need to use the air conditioner, we just opened up the windows and enjoyed the cooling breeze. Venturing out and enjoying all the island has to offer was easy with Barbara’s suggestions for great places to shop, eat, and explore. The beaches were the most beautiful I have ever seen, and taking the crazy dirty roads to some of them was really fun. Each day we picked a new beach to explore, often times we were the only people there! This trip was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more. Vieques is such a beautiful island, many parts undeveloped, which is what makes it so special. The cottage was the perfect place to stay to truly enjoy the island, great location, beautiful property, and fabulous hosts. Thank you Barbara and Kris, we had the best time and will definitely be back!
