Relax with your family or friends at our peaceful home just a few short steps from the beach, pond, and hiking trails of Roque Bluffs State Park. Hummingbird Hollow, aka Schoppee House, is a lovingly updated two bedroom cottage nestled between the ocean and state park land. Enjoy ocean views, salt air, and the sound of waves. A quick walk to the beach or pond, you’re not too far away to run back for lunch or take an afternoon nap. Also, the house is fully heated and is suitable for the cooler months!
Hummingbird Hollow is an 1818 historic cape with two bedrooms (new mattresses and new linens), a comfortable living room, which includes a gas fireplace for chilly evenings , a fully equipped kitchen (full sized stove, refrigerator, new dishes, glasses, a wide variety of pots and pans, including a lobster pot, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and basic cooking spices) and a dining space large enough for eight to ten people with a dry bar to enjoy with gorgeous sunset views. The bathroom has a hair dryer, hand soap/body wash, toilet paper, and plenty of towels. We also have beach chairs and beach towels, and we provide non-toxic Molly's suds detergent for the washer.
Based on our experiences we have tried to anticipate all the things that might help make our guests comfortable. We really do want everything to be perfect! If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to reach out. We've been hosting for three years on another site, and there you can see we have over 100 five star reviews. We strive to make your stay great!

My husband and I are teachers and avid travelers who have lived in many locations throughout our lives. Having been to over 50 countries combined, we believe that new experiences and learning about others is the best education and also the best way to grow our circle of friends. In addition to three kids, we have three cats, and for eleven years we have loved spending summers in our house next door in the wonderful community that is Roque Bluffs.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
Schoppee Point is an amazing location! We are surrounded by a state park that includes an expansive beach, the ocean, a large freshwater pond, and several hiking trails. You can hear the surf from the house, watch deer wander through the yard, and see bald eagles overhead. You can also take a quick drive to town for food, local shopping, or dining at several restaurants, or drive a little further and explore Bar Harbor, Eastport, Lubec, or Campobello Island.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Hummingbird Hollow is literally a minute walk from the beach. No need to pack up everything, you can run back to the house easily to use the bathroom or grab a snack. We have beach towels and chairs for you to use, and you can relax in the Adirondack chairs in the backyard with your morning coffee or watch the sunset. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and dishes, utensils, and the dining area has gorgeous views and plenty of space for a lovely dinner. If it's chilly you can relax on the oversized sectional with the gas fireplace or enjoy one of many games or puzzles in the dining area. If you want fresh lobster, just call Larry across the street, and you can also charter a boat ride with him to explore the sites of Roque Island just off the coast.
