Cette cabane en haut de la colline est la parfaite retraite de vacances en famille. Profitez de 100 'de façade sur # 1 lac vierge du Michigan, le lac Avalon. Des marches mènent vers le bas sur le pont au bord du lac où les amateurs de soleil, les nageurs et les plaisanciers peuvent se détendre sur une plate-forme de rivage privé et d'un quai. Lac Avalon est un fond de sable descendant graduellement cristal ressort clairement lac alimenté. Il est parfait pour tous les sports nautiques comme la natation, le canotage et la pêche. Une chaloupe gratuit à quai disponibles pour votre plaisir. La rampe de lancement public est à quelques minutes de votre propre bateau. La grande terrasse au bord du lac surplombe le lac et les couchers de soleil. A l'intérieur, deux chambres, une salle de bain, grand salon avec cheminée en pierre et cuisine bien équipée. langue pin noueux et lambris rainure crée la sensation de cabine parfaite. La cabine peut accueillir 6. Une chambre avec un grand lit et la deuxième chambre a un lit queen avec un lit superposé complet / simple. La cuisine bien équipée, barbecue, table de pique-nique et d'un foyer offrent de nombreuses options pour manger. Les draps et serviettes sont fournis pour votre commodité. Les autres équipements comprennent badminton / volley-ball, jeu de maïs-trou, et un lecteur DVD. Kayaks sont également disponibles à la location.
Lac Avalon est situé à 5 miles au nord-ouest de Hillman, qui offre des épiceries, fête et magasins de sport, stations d'essence, et diverses options à manger / bar. Notre cabine est de 1. 5 heures de Machinaw Ville et le pont et à 30 minutes du lac Huron. De nombreux terrains de golf offrent le meilleur en matière de loisirs Up North. Il est également à une heure de route à Alpena, Gaylord, Cheboygan, Atlanta et Rogers City.

Relaxing and enjoyable

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us! The open layout was perfect and the king bed was comfortable. The updated bathroom was nice too. The sunsets were amazing as we relaxed by the bon-fire. The lake was clean and provided us with a fresh catch of the day and excellent swimming.

Amazing Sunsets!

We LOVED it here! Very comfy and cozy, plenty of space, we did not need anything extra besides our food and drinks. Wood was easy to find in town along with a decent sized grocery store. The stairs are really not that bad. They are worth the easy water access and lower deck view of the lake, which is pretty big and has a long built-in bench. It’s 5 flights of stairs to the lower deck that are not steep and one more to the water. We definitely plan to boom again next Summer!

Cozy, clean, private cottage on the bluff.

The cottage was cozy and clean, located atop the bluff on the sunset side of the lake. Plenty of space for six adults and three vehicles. Worth noting: the descent to the lake includes pavers in the yard that are loose and uneven. The steps (81) include several wobbly flights of wooden steps; the bottom flight to the dock is narrower than the others, and doesn’t have handrails. The dock is short and narrow, and doesn’t have uprights tall enough to use as handholds. The lake bottom is clear and sandy, but also rocky. Water sandals that won’t slide around/off your feet are necessary. *The photos really don’t convey enough information about the stairs, nor do they show the stepping stones in the yard.

Great Getaway Cabin

My husband and I and our four legged girls came to vacation here for a few days. The cabin is so warm and inviting. The lake is absolutely beautiful and CLEAN. Even tho there are many (107) steps down to the lake, it’s worth every one. We felt it was a bonus also that a row boat AND two kayaks are available to use also, at no extra cost. The host are wonderful to work with and very prompt getting back with you. I highly recommend checking this Vrbo out. We plan to rent it again for a longer period of time hopefully next year.

This was an amazing property, we had an amazing time!

The view of the lake, near the fire pit, was one of my favorite things. The cabin itself was clean and stocked, just a wonderful little cabin which had plenty of room to feel comfortable. Location was great, felt up north, but was close enough to town to get dinner, ice cream, or to enjoy the park. The rowboat was also a nice added perk. Tom and Tommie were very attentive and were sweet enough to leave us small gift upon entry. Definitely would like to visit again . Thanks again!

Beautiful lake, clean and well stocked cabin

Our stay at Sunset Ridge was wonderful! The cabin is clean and well-stocked, Tom and Tommie were wonderful hosts and sweet people. They were very responsive to any questions and issues we had. The highlight of the property is definitely the beautiful and clean Avalon Lake. Two kayaks and a rowboat were provided for us to use, free of charge, and we had a blast fishing and paddling on the lake. The water is crystal clear and we saw far more fish than we caught. There are a lot of stairs to get to the water, and they're a bit slippery when wet, so not great for people who have mobility issues. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, private place to stay.

Very neat and clean cottage with a well appointed kitchen and LOTS is room! Perfect escape to unplug and relax. The lake is beautiful!! The owners reached out to ensure everything was satisfactory and, of course, it was! Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat.

Wonderful family getaway

This cabin was very comfortable for our family of 6. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The family room was spacious. The location was lovely - right on a clear lake where we swam every day. The trees in the back provided a perfect place to hang a hammock.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay for a week to relax. The lake is probably the most beautiful is Michigan. The house is clean and has everything you need. The hosts are easy to work with and very communicative. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful property

We loved our stay here. The cabin is rustic, there is no AC which normally isn’t an issue up north, but this summer has been a killer and when we got there it was 88 degrees in the cabin, however that was the only downside. We don’t spend a lot of time indoors while we are up north so it wasn’t a huge issue. The property is secluded, the lake is beautiful and not crowded. We even enjoyed the walks up and down the hill to get to the dock. Kayak rental is a great option and we used the rowboat and all the other amenities. Tommie was responsive and helpful. We have already discussed coming back next summer!

My grandaughters and I loved this little cabin. We had everything we could possibly need. The girls swam in the clear lake everyday almost all day. Loved the sunsets. I highly recommend.

Wonderful Northern Michigan Getaway

My family (wife, three children under age of 9) all stayed at this cabin for a week. It was a great time all around! The owners were extremely prompt in communicating information about the cabin, it was clean, and had many amenities that made our stay even more enjoyable. Things like movies available for rainy days (which we had), puzzles, a fire pit, corn hole, and boats for enjoying the lake. The lake itself was beautiful and the location worked out for us to explore other areas of. Or there Michigan throughout the week. I would highly recommend it.

Very Happy!

We ( 2 couples) had a wonderful time. Cottage was clean and charming. Very well equipped. Owners were easy to communicate with and touched base with us the next morning to make sure everything was ok. Also left notes welcoming us with a gift. Very nice touch. While outside we spoke with some neighbors - friendly and gave us a little history of the cabin and area in general. We were happy with our choice and would go there again. Only thing to be aware of is the steps to the lake - may be an issue for people with mobility problems

An Azure Escape in the Trees

Finding a beautiful cottage on more than a postage stamp size lot with not only a forest feel but the most crystal clear azure weed free lake seemed too good to be true but it turned out to be even better! The cottage was well appointed to a level I didnt expect and when I entered the bedrooms I was welcomed by that fantastic cedar fragrance that instantly transports me. We saw pileated woodpeckers from our sunset view in the living room, cooked over the campfire, swam and fished every day, and even enjoyed badminton. Yes there are a number of steps to the lake but I found the setup to be of value in that it enhanced our privacy and prevented my autistic son from wandering into the lake. We met a couple of welcoming neighbors whose children played with my son but for the most part you wont see many people in your private retreat. Tom and Tommie are not only incredibly thoughtful hosts but excellent communicators. They promptly responded upon booking and asking questions, left a delicious locally sourced welcome package, and checked in by phone after our arrival to make sure everything we had everything we needed. While I lost cell service (such a gift as I would have ended up responding to work) it turned out they even reached out later in our stay offering a pontoon tour of the Lake. It was a treat to have our four legged family member with us, to have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy being up north, and to make beautiful memories with my son! I believe this may be the start of a new tradition for us. Thanks Tom and Tommie for making such an experience possible!

Guys trip

Usually go to Canada for Labor Day on this guys trip but due to Covid had to call an audible. Found this cabin on VRBO and was a great substitute. Kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of pots toilet paper/paper towels. We had great weather and enjoyed the deck, dock and fire pit. Neighbors were friendly and hung out with us by the fire pit. Fishing is not too hot. Also, the town of Hillman is nice and we had a good meal and time at the Hi-Way. Thanks Tom and Tommie for sharing your cabin with us.

Loved the peacefulness. Had everything you might need.

Almost 90 steps down to lake so not for handicapped. No real tv except for 3 stations childs cartoons/exercise/crafts. No internet. P.S. that's what made it so enjoyable and peaceful. Owners very responsive. VRBO no response.

Great Northern Michigan Cottage Rental.

A great week of vacation in Northern Minchigan. This is a nice property with a dock and lake access and many other amenities to enjoy. We has an amazing stay at the cottage. Tom and Tommie were very helpful with everything from suggestions of things to do to answering every question and taking care of out all needs. We definately will try to return again soon.

Tom and Tommie Wolff have a home in Asheville, NC and spend the summer at Lake Avalon in a second home. Tom retired in 2001 from the Air Force after 34 years of service and Tommie retired as a Registered Nurse in 2014 after 42 years. Tom's family has vacationed at Lake Avalon for over 75 years and have many close ties with the community.
