Overall, the property is amazing. Beautiful landscape, great little house and breathtaking scenery. This is a sportsmanâs / river lovers paradise. I give the overall accommodations a blue ribbon. However, I did have what I personally consider a poor experience with the activation of the properties lawn irrigation system on two separate occasions while staying there, not only did this interfere with our outdoor enjoyment of this property but the water source, which I expect is the river water, completely trashed a 200.00 detail job on my truck I had done two days before this trip. The water dried leaving a heavy white chalky residue all over, especially on the window glass. I really believe someone should have mentioned this would be happening while I was there. Better yet, donât water while guests are there. Have spend another 200.00 to have this mess cleaned off my truck. Other than that disappointment the accommodations are wonderful.
Perfect for bringing our boat to do some fishing and exploring. A great space for the two of us with a beautiful location right on the river, while the boat was secure on the canal side. A fun but peaceful retreat a short boat ride from Renegades.
Wonderful hidden gem on the St Johns River. The cutest little cottage right on the water. We loved fishing right off the dock and back porch. Saw tons of birds, manatees, a gator and fish. Highly recommend checking this place out. Host Jim was wonderful to talk too. Definitely plan on going back.
Beautiful location on the St. John's River. Loved being able to keep the boat where we stayed. The cottage is very nice, clean and comes with anything you could need. We look forward to returning.
Great place to stay and rewind. Did not bring a boat this time but enjoyed the fishing and beautiful sunsets on the dock. Very friendly and quaint neighborhood.
We will be back again
My husband & I enjoyed the month of March on Sunset. Nice neighborhood, beautiful quiet location. Everything but the bathroom is in one room but it's not crowded and there's a screened in porch the overlooks the canal. Lot's of cable stations & books for rainy days. The onsite managers were extremely helpful & responsive.
Had a wonderful vacation! Cottage was so clean and comfortable. Kitchen has everything to cook a great meal. Valinda made us feel so welcome. We
Fished off the dock and caught many things including a couple of sting rays.
We only stayed the weekend, but next time we will stay a lot longer ! It was easy to check in and communicate with the owner and manager.
The house was clean and cozy !
We loved it ! Thanks again
Weâll be back
My husband and I had a great experience! Gene and Velinda are great people and very helpful! The cottage was everything we expected and better! We had beautiful sunset views and we enjoyed the screened in porch. The kitchen was well stocked and the interior was beautifully decorated. We will be visiting again ASAP!
Fantastic Accommodations! Clean bright and happy. With an amazing king size bed.The most comfortable one we've ever had! Had the most amazing view of the river and sunsets, a very nice dock, and a boat house to keep the boat clean and dry. Although it rained and stormed everyday the rental was so amazing we were still able to enjoy our vacation. There were a number of restaurants close by that were easily accessible by land or water. We Are looking forward to our next trip there.
Nice little place to stay and relax. Very clean and organized. As other people reviewed is better to stop by and buy groceries at least 2 hours before arrival since there are not any big grocery stores, only a dollar general and a couple of fast food restaurants. We prefer cooking and staying at the place almost every day. My son loved to fish so he enjoyed every moment. Very quiet area and nice neighbors. We def will be back! Thank you very much.
This property was beyond our expectations. The location with water on most sides was beautiful. Lake George is very vast and runs to the St. John River but donât quote me on this. Itâs fun to watch the boats . Even better if you have your own boat. You have a boathouse and long dock that goes with the property. Very private and quiet. We spent 2 weeks there. The inside was appointed very well with Crate & Barrel or Tommy Bahamas eclectic like furniture. A huge perk was the awesome screen room overlooking all the water areas. The only thing I personally found difficult was to find a good restaurants with quality food. Lots of casual places on the lake and around there that were ok. It depends on your taste. We did more cooking than usual. And a good grocery store is half hour or a little more. But once you know that you can shop on your way inn. Itâs stores donât seem that far away. The refrigerator is awesome and huge. Great cooker and smoker outside. Jim the owner was great. We had some minor issues that were taken care of immediately. Nothing big and Gene the manager was helpful. We are the quiet type and donât expect things to be perfect. Yes, I would go back and highly recommend staying there. Itâs a pretty mixed use area around there but around the cottage itâs all very nice!
This was our first visit to this little gem and looking forward to a return stay. My husband enjoyed reeling in the fish. I loved the scenery and quiet time to read. A lovely place to unwind. The manager was helpful and also Don and Brenda were great.
Only thing I would recommend is to change the sprinkler system time. Itâs in at 7 am, the time we were out walking. The location was absolutely beautiful
Gene and Velinda are the caretakers and live right down the street. They are originally from South Carolina so they know 'Country Charm'. They can guide you to all the local spots and help with all your vacations needs.
The St Johns is a boaters delight with great fishing, shrimping in the summer season, and easy access to golf. No boat required though- some of the best fishing is right off the dock! Visit Silver Glen and Salt Springs a quick boat ride across Lake George. Local guides are available for world class bass fishing.
