Le Tvera chalet spacieux se trouve dans l'environnement vierge isolée de la cÎte largement intacte au sud de Westfjord de l'Islande. La loge est située au centre pour une visite de nombreux sites naturels spectaculaires, serait-il les macareux sur les falaises Latrabjarg, la plage rouge unique des Raudasandur, toutes les piscines géothermiques naturels de la région - ou tout simplement la végétation à base de plantes et les criques sur une randonnée rafraßchissante de la porte d'entrée de la loge. Les environs de Tvera sont imprégnés d'histoire avec l'un des premiers découvreurs de l'Islande, le neuviÚme siÚcle Norseman Hrafna-Floki qui ont donné l'Islande son nom, en choisissant de s'y installer pour qu'il puisse profiter de la belle vue sur la baie.
Tvera peut accueillir jusqu'Ă  11 invitĂ©s. S'il vous plaĂźt remarquez, il y a un supplĂ©ment par personne et par nuit de plus de 6 personnes. Tvera est trĂšs proche du port de ferry BrjĂĄnslĂŠkur, oĂč le ferry de voiture et passagers de la ville Stykkisholmur arrive, en passant le culte de l'Ăźle Flatey sur son chemin Ă  travers la baie. Il est Ă©galement Ă  proximitĂ© de la jonction de route pour la ville principale de l'Westfjords, Isafjordur, hĂ©bergement "Tjoruhusid" Le meilleur restaurant de poisson en Islande. Il est Ă  seulement 25 minutes en voiture panoramique Ă  Dynjandi, la plus belle et impressionnante cascade des Fjords de l'Ouest (100 m de haut).

Dans la fin de l'été / automne, vous pouvez cueillir des bleuets tout autour et les champignons aussi.

A comfortable house in an incredibly beautiful location. Don't miss the Dynjandi waterfall under an hour away. I would recommend booking a more robust car than we did for the gravel grades on the way there (or take ferry). The description made me want to be there and the reality was even better. That house should never be empty, so lovely is it to watch the light on the water.

Very comfy house and super-friendly host. The house is easily accessible and yet very quiet. Most of the beautiful places in the Westfjords are within max. 90 minutes driving distance.

The views from the house are amazing. It’s convenient to the ferry but everything else is a long drive. However, the second bathroom is really a utility room with a shower and toilet. The pillows were very flat and the towels very old and rough. Overall, not one of the best VRBO’s we’ve stayed in.

Magical stay

The house is in a great location, is very clean and comfortable, and has everything you need for cooking. Our host was wonderful about communication. We loved looking out the front window at the fjord. Twice a white tailed eagle landed on the rocks in the water out front. It was a great place to spend 5 days.

Right location. 5 minutes from the ferry, fish farm across the street, and surrounding you couldn’t ask for better. Sea in the fron and the mountains in the back with waterfall all around. Can’t forget the sheep roaming around and the hotpot nearby. Flokalunder has excellent food.

Beautiful and quiet surrounded by birds and an ocean view. We were visited by sheep, geese and ducks. The alpine wildflowers were in bloom which just added to experience. House was immaculate, stylish and had everything we needed and communication with the property manager was also great.

Wonderful house at the edge of the world

This is an amazing property, fully equipped with all amenities and plenty of room. Best of all, it has a spectacular location on the side of a beautiful fjord, close to all the jewels of the Westfjords. My family and I had three wonderful days here, and all of us were sad to leave. Highly recommended. The owner, Jon, is also very friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay at Tvera!

Jon was exceptional in communicating with us prior to our trip. He was very helpful in guiding me through the reservation process and offering traveling tips and advice that didn’t disappoint. The home was clean and welcoming, with very adequate accommodations. The view of the ocean was exquisite and we enjoyed our strolls on the beach and splashing in tidal pools with our 2 year old. I highly recommend spending time in the West Fjords and a stay at Tvera. We certainly enjoyed our 4 nights and hope to be back again!

Amazing property in the Westfjords

This was a wonderful vacation rental in the sparsely populated Westfjords. Very convenient location by the ferry terminal and with a hotel, restaurant, and natural hot pot down the road. Beautiful sweeping vistas out of most windows. We saw Arctic foxes right in front of the property. Relatively short drive to some of the area's major attractions, including the Dynjandi Waterfall, red sand beach, and Latrabjarg bird cliffs. The home was spotless when we arrived and our hosts were very gracious and communicative.

Best of the Westfjords South

A perfect place to explore the southern part of the Westfjords...very convenient location! Clean house with everything you need. Feels remote. Has gorgeous views. incredible and unique rental in Westfjords

Our family had an incredible vacation in this lovely home We spent a few days in and around Reykjavik before traveling north to the Westfjords to spend the rest of our vacation in Westfjords. We arrived to a wonderful, comfortable, and well equipped home. The views of the cliffs and ocean are stunning! It was lovely to relax at the home between our adventures to the Latrabjarg Cliffs and Dynjandi Waterfall. There is a great hiking trail nearby and the FlĂłkalundur hotel and restaurant are nearby: we ate lunch there and enjoyed the food and the views. JB was very helpful through the process and helped insure that we had a great vacation!

A Little Peace and Quiet

If you are looking for a remote location in the Westfjords with an amazing view, this is the place. The view from the living/dining room overlooking Vatnsfjordur and the Atlantic Ocean is serene and can't be beat for beauty. The location is very quiet with very little car traffic. You have to travel 45 minutes to the nearest town, but there is a hotel within a couple of miles with a gas pump and a good restaurant. The location is a good base for traveling to many of the Westfjord sites. The lodge is well appointed with all kitchen necessities. I traveled solo but there are plenty of comfortable beds for a larger group. It is always nice to have an accommodation with a washer and dryer. Several days the sheep were on the front lawn. The host Jon Baldur was very quick to reply to my many questions prior to travel. This was my 3rd trip to Iceland and I will be sure to use another Nordic Lodge in the future.

Beautiful, remote and far from the crowds

This was perfect for our family of four - and we loved the stunning views from the windows out over the ever changing light of the fjord. Jon was a communicative, friendly and helpful host. The Westfjords are certainly further from the tourist trail than other areas of Iceland, though the hotpot at Hellulaug has now definitely been discovered! (There is another, quieter hot pot further along the road which Jon can recommend and which we enjoyed using). I would recommend taking with you some guidebooks or information to the hikes in the local area as it can be quite hard to get information locally. The journey to Dynjandi is well worth it and the scenery on the way is amazing. Be aware that it takes time to travel around this area so be prepared for considerable driving if you want to explore. We would recommend the wonderful restaurant Heimsendi in Patreksfjorur, over the one just down the road. The beds in the property were comfortable and the kitchen has all the essential pots and pans etc - the only thing we missed was a blender to make soup! The television is very small, which was not a problem for us as we were there for the scenery. The lounge/living area was a good size for us - and we felt very at home.

Very spacious house with plenty of rooms and outdoor space to accommodate a small to large gathering. This is a great launching point to discover the Westfjords area. The home is well supplied for cooking and has plenty of supplies! There is a natural hot-spring pool nearby (5 minutes). The views from the family room/dining area are beautiful!!

house between Flokalunder and Bjanslaekur

We stayed at the house for nearly two weeks and it was wonderful. It is spacious inside and the views from every window are spectacular. We walked in the mountains or down by the sea every day and picked wild berries and chanterelles and it was magical. The nearest grocery is about thirty minutes away and it had everything we needed. The house was well set up for cooking and the hotel restautant five minutes away was great. No problems, no complaints: perfect

Hooked on tourism, yet studied automotive engineering in the University for Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany with the graduation Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Fahrzeugtechnik. After being technical director at the car inspection and type approval branch (MOT/TÜV) in Iceland for a few years I got more and more linked to the tourism, using my good knowledge in German, English and Swedish.
Tourist guide since 1983 and owner and operator of the tour agency Isafold Travel and the unique 4x4 rental Isak for 18 years.
Sold the whole business in 2015 to start up a new enterprise, Nordic Lodges. This company runs a few vacation rentals in various parts of Iceland, offering the concept "Roof 'n Route", which makes our lodges to "step stones" on your travel in Iceland.
Tourism and music are my hobbies, and that's where I'm now!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Tvera is a big cottage, sleeping 10+ people in 5 bedrooms with 3 queen size double beds, 2 twin rooms and the possibility of 1 extra bed. The location is a selected one, up in the hillside with a great view on the whole bay, over to the peninsula Snaefellsnes. Here you are the the King (and the queen!) Tvera offers lots of privacy, though being only 2 km away from the ferry harbour of Brjanslaekur. Tvera is within a easy range to the unique puffin cliffs Latrabjarg, the smashing red sand shore Raudasandur and only 4 km away from the road junction to the breathtaking waterfall Dynjandi and to the beautiful town of Isafjordur. Access to geothermal nature pools almost everywhere gives you the possibility to gaze at the northern lights in the winter time, while sitting in the pool -don't get too tired for to drive back to the lodge!

Combination of location, total privacy and an unlimited nature. The highlight for nature lovers, who like to dip in a natural geothermal pool every now and then. Tvera is on the cross roads to town Stykkisholmur (ferry every day), the bird cliffs in the West, the most intriguing waterfall of the Westfjords (Dynjandi), the best fish restaurant in Iceland (Tjöruhusid) in the town Isafjordur, and the western most point of Europe, Låtrabjarg, teeming with puffin in the early summer.
