Very comfortable

Overall the stay was great. Only downside was we were not able to check in until 9 pm due to “being too busy/overwhelmed” to get the condo cleaned, but the property managers made it right for us. The location was fantastic and the condo was very comfortable!

Location - beach and downtown, ocean view

Balcony - am and pm, read and listened to ocean waves. Pool temp good. Bar good. Clean, comfortable. Decent water pressure. Couch - well worn. Cookware - scratched Teflon. Beds - some said too soft with memory foam and too hard without. Close to touristy Americanized Mexican restaurants, 10 min walk away from music and downtown to authentic restaurants. Considering close to downtown, music from bars and restaurants minimum. #0 min drive to Akumal and cenotes.

Great location and lovely pool

For the price point this is a great rental. The location was excellent, very close to the beach and the property has a lovely pool, that’s very warm with a pool bar that serves food and drinks. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, there is a supermarket within walking distance and several convenience stores close by. The towels are unfortunately not changed during your stay (bathroom or pool towels). I inquired how much it would be to change them and it $30/day. So instead we would take our room towels to the laundromat next door in the morning and they would wash them for just over $10 and they are ready by 5. When picking those we would drop off the pool towels. We only stayed for a few days so this was possible but I imagine if you were there longer this would be tedious. You are also located right in the heart of Playa del Carmen and walking up and down 5th Avenue you will find so many restaurants, bars and clubs. Great location!

LOVE Aldea Thai, BUT...

We love Aldea Thai. My family and I have stayed at this complex four separate times, and were very satisfied. The pool is beautiful, it's just steps from the beach, and it's a lovely property. HOWEVER, we DID not enjoy our stay in this particular room due to the following reasons: 1. We NEVER met the property manager, despite them saying we would see them the day after our arrival. 2. There was little to no communication with the property managers (even when repeated attempt to reach them were made). 3. We asked for more water (as we are a family of 5) and were told we needed to purchase. We said we would, it never showed up, so my partner had to go to Oxxo an haul it to our room on his own. 4. We asked many times if we were ever going to get our room cleaned for the 9 days we were there, NO RESPONSE. 5. We asked for new beach towels, NO RESPOSNE again. (9 days with no new beach towels is gross). 6. Again, family of 5 we asked for more toilet paper and trash bags. They delivered two rolls of TP and two trash bags, and we were told we would have to purchase our own beyond this point. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a more comfortable and hospitable place to stay at Aldea Thai!

Beautiful property, management could improve

We had a peaceful stay here, we loved the pool area, and loved being close to the shops and restaurants. We realized the back patio door didn’t lock and the microwave was broken…the property manager sent someone out the next day to work on the door but it didn’t get completed until day 4 of our stay, and the microwave was never fixed.

Special stay !

Reviewer Comments: Escape! that's the word we had in our head during these hard months and we did it!! we escaped!! and found this incredible property steps to the beach ( unfortunately restricted) but we had the chance to have a rest somewhere else not home! stay at the pool and enjoy the sun! the apartment were found perfectly cleaned and with bath amenities for our getaway, the staff at the lobby and from the management always attemtpive to all our requests and our zero-contact self check-in was great since we had all the information we needed to get in!! it was a fantastic experience in mid-quarantine and we would be more than happy to book again with playa moments as soon as this pass!! great job guys!!

The balcony in the apartment has a nice outlook with an ocean view . The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and very well equipped. Playa Moments have thought of everything you need and was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We are delighted in every way.We have booked to go back again already.

Reviewer Comments: El departamento esta super amplio las habitaciones muy limpias y comodas, lo unico que no estaba bien era el aire acondicionado de la recamara principal, porque hacia mucho ruido, en general todo muy bien, la ubicación excelente queda a solo 1 cuadra de playa mamitas y a 3 cuadras de la 5 avenida, cuando regrese seguro vuelvo a aldea thai!!

Nice place but A/C not working good.

Reviewer Comments: El lugar esta muy bonito, es un complejo de condominios administrados por diferentes empresas, cuando llegamos nos dieron una lista enorme de todas las cosas que nos iban a cobrar en caso de dañarlas o no cumplir con las reglas, el aire acondicionado no funciono NUNCA, siempre se apagaba, lo reportamos todos los días y disque iban a arreglarlo, lo dejaban funcionando y servia un ratito. Se supone que el lugar solo pueden entrar las personas que tienen pulsera, nosotros vimos muchisisma gente sin pulsera en diferentes condominios y a nosotros el recepcionista nos corrió a gritos a una amiga que solo iba a recoger unas cosas. Terrible la actitud del recepcionista con rastas, no se como se llama, pero es el único con rastas. Todo el día hay fiesta en el lugar, por si quieren hospedarse en un lugar tranquilo, este no lo es. Hay muchos grupos de despedidas de solteros, ruido en todos lados. Si vas de fiesta, entonces si es un buen lugar para quedarte, esta el club de playa mamitas del lado izquierdo, en l playa del aldea esta el club de playa Kool y del lado derecho esta Coralina, la ubicacion es excelente. Lo malo el servicio del recepcionista, el aire condicionado que ni servia, las reglas de las toallas, de los horarios. Te amenazan a la entrada como si la gente de verdad so supiera comportarse. Otro punto importante si haces la reservación a través de booking en la aplicacion del celular te aparece que tienes servicio de limpieza, lo cual es falso, no hay servicio de limpieza más que un día y si quieres limpieza diaria tienes que pagar $35 dolares extras por día! No se me hace mal ni caro, lo unico es que ponen que si ofrecen el servicio diario y NO ES CIERTO.

Fantastic location with reliable accomodation

My wife and I travel to Playa Del Carmen regularly and this was by far the best location we've ever stayed. The condo is situated on the beach, yet also close to the nicer end (north end) of 5th Ave. If you're an early riser, you're literally a 2 min walk down the street from Starbucks and some fantastic breakfast spots Although Aldea Thai have kitchens, I would say they're adequate enough for primarily making breakfast and lunches...they simply aren't equipped enough for large meals like dinners. Besides, there's a million places for dinner around the neighbourhood. For basically being situated right beside two of the best beach clubs in Playa (Mamita's and Kool Beach Clubs), Aldea Thai is an extremely quiet property, which we loved. You can literally sit on your patio in peace and quiet. As for the beach clubs, if you like a more upbeat atmosphere Mamita's is the place to go. It's a tad more expensive than Kool, but they have a better host of resident DJs each day and the music is louder yet appropriate for a chill beach vibe experience. Aldea Thai is great and we're looking forward to bringing our two small dogs with us next visit.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bad vaction. The pool is with lekage and closed untill 1 month. No hot water in the shower, the Wifi is low, DONT invite via Playa moments (booking). They not clean my room 3 days!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time everything was great!! Me and my family made the check in at Aldea Thai and the staff of Playa Moments and the staff of Aldea Thai were so kind. The apartment is very well decorated. We loved the sheets!! We asked for more water, extra blanket and hairdryer and they provided on the same day. WIFI was running excellent. You can change your pool towels at front-desk you do not need to take out the towels from the apartment. Thank you!! We will come back in a near future.

Nice Condo - Difficult check - in

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I generally enjoyed our stay at Aldea Thai. We were really disappointed that after a long day of travel to Playa that the front desk person seemed to have no idea that we had a reservation. He didn't seem to have any idea what to do with us until I mentioned Playa Moments and he tried to make a phone call. No one answered his call. Then I told him that one of our email s mentioned a man named Fernando so he called him and said he would come over. After a wait which seemed longer than it should have Fernando showed up and asked us to come to the desk and sign some papers and then asked me for $500 in cash as a security deposit. We were taken aback by this request and I handed him a copy of all of our correspondence with Playa Moments and after a long review of the documents he found a single line at the bottom of the third page which referred to the security deposit. I gave him the cash I had and told him he would have to wait until the next day to get the rest. I strongly suggested that this requirement be more PLAINLY expressed in his company's correspondence. It was not a good start to our week. After that, as we had no further need for the services of Playa Moments our week went fine. We spent most of our time on the beach which was very nice. The pool at Aldea Thai was pretty much monopolized by some young Spring Breakers...not a huge problem as we enjoy the beach..but they were loud and made the pool not as enjoyable as it would have been otherwise.

Excelente ubicación

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: La ubicación es perfecta, a unos pasos de la playa y a unos pasos de la Quinta Avenida. La casa es muy bonita y cómoda y la piscina también está muy bien. El trato fue muy bueno, pedimos un cambio de habitación porque las vistas en la primera eran horribles (a unos metros de unas obras) e inmediatamente intentaron buscar una solución y nos dieron otra habitación con buenas vistas. Ingrid fue muy amable y atenta y también el personal de la recepción es muy amable. Totalmente recomendable el lugar. Un poquito caro quizás pero es lo único que podemos decir negativo.
