This was a lovely cottage with everything you need. It was the perfect location on the golden circle. It’s beautifully decorated with original artwork. And, if the northern lights decide to make an appearance, the large deck or hot tub is the best place to view them.

While this cabin is a bit out of the way if you are centering your stay around Reykjavik, it is still worth it. If you are visiting spots around the golden circle, I struggle to think of a better location. The view from the back deck alone is worth the trip. The host made everything easy and detailed all the important information in the check in document. The one time I had a question he was easy to reach and responsive by phone. Overall, a great trip!

House is beautiful and very very cozy. Amazed view from relaks area throught the big window.House has everything what you need abd even more, both in kitchen and in rest of te appartment.You can feel the host take care about it.Hot tub very convenient , you just take out the top and you can . In 15min driving you can find bikery and small market.

We had 4 adults and 2 young children. The house is delightful! Omar was very responsive and helpful, the location is super, and the view!!! Playing in the gorgeous backyard made the most magical memories for us! Thank you!!!

This was a great location for us to have a home base and get to various sites easily. We appreciated the kitchen - had most everything we needed (except tongs?). We could have used some more help/instruction on trash and washing machine (no dryer) and a warning to not leave the key inside since the door can self lock :) But otherwise was a comfortable stay for our family of 5. Thanks for sharing your home!

The accommodations, the view & host were excellent! Omar was quick to respond when we had questions (only 2x during the stay). We greatly enjoyed this location & proximity as home base when touring and exploring most of eastern Iceland. We headed as far west as Vik, but did all we could imagine in the eastern portion of the country. The hot tub is not a spa jacuzzi, but is a very warm tub with excellent views. In July the sun never sets, so we took advantage of the day light for many, many activities. The kitchen has every needed accessory, pot, pan, knife, etc. It was easy to prepare meals if you choose. I would recommend this location for a 3-6 day stay in Iceland.

Excellent cottage

For us, the property was excellent. The exact location we wanted for access to all the sites in the south. I found the owner to be very good about communication which I find to be the most important trait when renting a VRBO.

Excellent communication from the host, very attentive to messages. Lovely location. The cabin is lovely inside and was toasty warm during the colder days of our stay. Views are stunning and perfect for viewing Northern lights on clear nights. The local convenience shop is a 5 minute drive away and you can also get fuel there.

Extremely well furnished house

This might have been the nicest vrbo I've stayed in. We like to cook some of our meals at the house and there was a full array of cooking supplies. The whole house really felt like someone's house we were borrowing for a bit as oppose to a sterile bare bones rental. Fantastic view too!

Great time at the cozy cabin

We stayed four nights here in January 2025. Had a wonderful time. Photos are accurate, and kitchen is well stocked. It feels like staying at a friend’s cabin. We caught the northern lights two out of four nights. It’s a great base location to explore the Golden Circle sights. Vista I’m from the porch is spectacular. We had a great time there and would definitely go back.

Coziest cottage in wonderful surroundings

This charming, cozy summerhouse made us a warm home for a midweek. Amidst several highlights like the Geysir, Kerið crater and Þingvellir - but also in good driving distance of Reykjavik and the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in after a long day away in the cold and the large deck offered us a mesmerising view of aurora / Northern lights 3 out of 5 nights! When visiting Iceland again, we’ll most definitely return to Hulduheimar.

You'll never tire of the view

We spent a fabulous 5 days here in July. The cottage (chalet) was just what we needed. Comfortable, welcoming and in a great location for exploring south Iceland. And that view! It is spectacular, ever changing and it dominates the cottage.I took one star off because we could not get the hot tub to work and after six showers in quick succession the last showers were running out of hot water - although it was back again very quickly. That didn't diminish the other aspects and no one should make that the reason for not booking.We travelled all over including a mad day trip to Jökulsárlón which was 8 hours drive and more than I'd recommend normally - but doable. However there is more than enough nearby to keep a family of 6 adults entertained for the day. Overall - highly recommended.
