Same amount of time, not distance, to all ski resorts on the Wasatch front except Powder Mountain. This family home has undergone several remodels over the years and now the latest by the current Youngberg owners to welcome you to the Salt Lake Valley. Located at the foot of Mount Olympus there is easy access to outdoor activities of all kinds, the city amenities of Downtown or Sugarhouse are close by but there is also the option of staycation in the garden with badminton, volleyball, barbecuing or just relaxing. A interior game room offers entertainment for the inclement times to occupy the restless, Wifi and cable to occupy the time. But whatever your daytime holds come home to the restful sleep on the comfort of a Purple mattress. The fully stocked kitchen, with a handcrafted stainless steel countertop by my grandfather, is a culinary officianatos dream for dining preparation, or if you would like something prepared for your arrival, a Yucatani delight can be negotiated with Mrs Youngberg.
We enjoyed our stay! Great location, plenty of space and had everything we needed. We even cooked our Thanksgiving meal in the well equipped kitchen. Very communicative hosts.
We had a delightful stay at the Spicy Swedish cottage while moving our son into the UofU. The property is spacious, well-appointed and clean. We spent fun times in the great outdoor space - cooking, eating and playing yard games.
Lance is very responsive and thoughtful - thank you!
Our family was here for a week and had so much fun playing games outside! Each room was private and the beds were comfortable! Plenty of space for our family for the week!
The property was space & comfortable. Loved having a garage for our vehicles. The beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed.
We were there for a ski trip and the 30 or minutes to the resorts was perfect.
I am an Utah native of Swedish decent, my wife, your co-host is from Cancun, thus the property title, "A Spicy Swedish Cottage". The house decorations emphasize the multicultural nature of our relationship and the meticulous efforts we have gone to in providing an elegant space for your stay.
My grandfather built this home in 1936 to move his family out of the immigrant ghetto of the time appropriately named "Swede Town" to escape the inherent racism for foreigners. The home has progressively transformed from a single floor, two bedroom space for a family of four to this latest renovation to host guests to the Wasatch front.
Centrally located in the Salt Lake Valley this area provides easy access to everything offered along the Wasatch front. All ski resorts can be accessed by equal time, not distance from this location because of the easy access to I-80, I-15 and I-215, and the mountains and all it offers are but minutes away. There are several townships nearby to offer shopping, events, dining and night life and access to downtown is simple through the roadways or public transportation. A deaf and blind school and insurance agent as neighbors provides for a tranquil space to relax and recreate in the expansive back yard.
