à propos de cet hébergement
Modern yet comfy Caribbean home
Bring your family to unwind in this stunning Caribbean Seaside home! Located in the exclusive Lighthouse Estates in West Bay, this house is built right on the iron shore with ocean views from nearly every window. It is about a 15 minute walk to the famous white sand West Bay Beach. Restaurants and water sports, family excursions and relaxing beach chairs are within a 5-minute walk of this beautiful home! Let our awesome house be your vacation home away from home!
The space
The main house is two floors. The first floor, will an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Caribbean Sea, has a fully stocked kitchen, living room, wet bar, and large dining table.
The kitchen is absolutely stunning and offers unparalleled ocean views. It is a perfect place to cook or to have a private chef come in and cook for your group. There is an entertainment center for those who want to watch the game but the real entertainment is to be found in the stunning ocean views and the fabulous sunrise over the water.
The guest suite has ocean views and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds that have a full mattress on the bottom and twin mattress on top as well as an ensuite bathroom. If that isn't enough, there is a 1000 square foot oceanfront balcony with an infinity pool, lounge chairs, grill, and outdoor dining area. The infinity pool is a great place to unwind after a long day of diving or a perfect place to spend a lazy day.
The top floor is home to the master suit. The kind bed has wall to wall windows with views of the iron shore as well as a wrap around terrace. The gigantic master bathroom has a beautiful bathtub (a rarity on the island), his and hers sinks, a large vanity, and a shower that you will never want to leave. With stunning ocean views from the bed and bath tub to soak your troubles away, you might never leave!
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire main house. There is an apartment underneath so outdoor spaces including the pool are shared unless guests rent the entire house. Access to the gym requires an additional $500 deposit.
Other things to note
The rate does not include electricity. It does include an electricity allowance that covers normal use and living. We also have 44 solar panels that backup into the grid.
Electricity is quite expensive on Roatan. So Instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C , and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge to for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out, subtract the allowance, and use the previous month's bill to determine the charge per kilowatt hour. The guest is responsible for the difference.
We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra $1000 / week to the rental rate.
As mentioned, we do have solar panels that back up into the grid. So you can bank electric during the day to use at night by doing things like turning the ACs off or turning them up to a few degrees colder than the outside temperature. We have a fantastic near year round breeze and wall to wall windows. Most guests don't even use the AC.
If you are energy aware (hang towels to dry instead of putting them in the dryer, turn the AC off or up when not in the house, and keep the temperature on something reasonable instead of Arctic blast, usage will probably be around $250/ week.
