Welcome to your home away from home! We invite you to relax and soak up some peace and quiet in friendly Halstead. Whether you are traveling through the area with your family, visiting friends and relatives in Kansas, or just needing a staycation away from the hustle and bustle of the city, we welcome you!

We want your stay to be all you expect and more. Any questions or requests, please let us know!

Cottage Corner is a great place to get away from it all and relax in the cozy cottage or out in the inviting back yard. Our home is a haven for those who want to unplug and enjoy the simple things in life. There's a TV, but we love instead to spend our time reading, playing games, enjoying some fresh air out back, and just chatting and reconnecting with each other.

The big yard might be your favorite place to hang out! Let your kids run around in the lush grass, throw a football, relax in the hammock, play some cornhole, or bike down to Main Street for a snow cone or a coffee drink...

Cook up a delicious supper in the fully equipped kitchen, or pull out the grill! Enjoy supper around the patio table, and then savor a toasty marshmallow by the fire after dark. The string lighting around the yard will enhance the atmosphere!

At the end of a long, satisfying day, sink into one of the luxuriously soft beds. You'll sleep soundly with blackout shades to block the light!

A short walk from the house you will find anything you may need during stay...coffee shop, restaurants, groceries, hardware store...you name it! Check out the guidebook I've created on my listing, or wait until you get to the cottage and look at my leather binder full of any info you might need! The binder and guidebook also will give you lots of ideas for day activities in the area.

Our top three priorities are cleanliness, comfort, and convenience. If you're looking for big-city vibes, hustle and bustle, parties, or have pets, this is not your place. If you want to relax in a peaceful, clean space that is still near lots of activities, this is for you!! (And we especially love hosting families!)

Beautiful Home

Traveling for our sons tournament. Stayed one night, but wish it could have been longer. We felt comfortable and safe, and the home was very clean. Beds were super comfortable and provided a much needed night of rest. 10/10 recommend!

Just as it shows!

Property is just as it shows. Beds are comfy and everything is nice and clean. Wished we could’ve enjoyed the backyard and house but we’re only there for a few hours to sleep and shower.

What a lovely house

We have stayed at many vacation rentals. This one is as good as (or better than) any we have stayed at. The host has equiped the house so thoughtfully and conveniently. Such a great find in a small town.

we have stayed at a variety of homes old, new, big, fancy but none have been better thought out than this home It was practically perfect! The host thought out this home thoroughly to meet any need that may arise. We loved that they did not require a laundry list of things to do upon check out. we cleaned up anyway just because they were so nice!

Soooo clean and perfect

Our stay was great. The house is even better than the listing. You walk in and you just feel right at home. It was so clean, well stocked, furnished and inviting. The owner literally thought of everything. It literally exceeded our expectations. You never know how true listings and reviews can be when shopping for your next vacation rental, but I assure you that this one is excellent. The owner was prompt with communication. We never had to contact her for a problem or an inquiry. She had everything written in a book or displayed around the house. It was just perfect. Like our home away from home. Thanks for everything! We would rent again if ever back in the area.

Visiting family

We were in KS to visit family and check in on elderly parents. This place was great, better than our last VRBO near Newton, KS. The location provided easy access to relatives and food - we particularly loved the new Daphne Mae cafe which is a couple blocks away. We had sufficient indoor and outdoor space to have an aunt, an uncle, and parents over for takeout (pizza). Dinner outside under the lights was pleasant. We really liked the backyard and appreciated seeing a couple bushes being swarmed by butterflies and moths. Temperature control in the unit was great, and we appreciated having a king bed to sleep in. We found the kitchen to be suitably equipped for our needs. We'll be back!

The nicest place I’ve ever stayed away from home! Super clean! (I’m a housekeeper) had a great back yard space we really enjoyed, a very homey space. Comfy beds! Clean bathrooms!
