Includes a 50-foot private protected dock. ** No liveaboards , must reserve dockage with owner **

The Property

• “Mermaid Cove” is part of our larger private property which consists of a large residence named “LUSEA”, our private Marina, our Off grid water and power plant, Starfish Bay our three bedroom oceanfront vacation home and Mermaid Cove our open plan oceanfront Villa.
• Private and protected Guest Dockage for up to 55 foot boat with available 100 Amp power and water
• Separate seating area at the private marina with chairs, tables and fish cleaning station
• Two completely different water views and experiences. First from the 2nd floor patio and the 1st floor waterfront deck looking North over the Sea of Abaco. Second from the private marina docks facing south over Sugarloaf Canal and Lagoon. Both are spectacular
• High speed WIFI throughout the property including all patios, decks and docks
• The entire property including “Mermaid Cove” is off the grid. A large SOLAR power plant guarantees constant 24/7 power! Two diesel generators serve only as backup. All this forms part of our properties very own “green” power plant
• Being off the grid we also have our own water plant. We collect our own water called “Rainwater harvesting”. In addition, we have Reverse Osmosis water as backup. Quadruple filtration system and UV treatment ensure water is drinkable from every faucet. No need to buy drinking water!

• High Speed WIFI on all decks and outdoor areas
• The outdoor space has two distinct areas for outdoor living , the 2nd floor 360 sq ft area with covered patio and the 450 sq foot lower deck with grill, water toys and ocean access
• Enjoy the water activities without leaving the property

We have two full time staff on our property to ensure the property is kept in pristine condition for ourselves and our guests. (Don't worry the property is large and our staff understand and respect guests privacy)

Roland is our full time property caretaker and available for your convenience: Monday through Saturday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
A two way radio is located in the home for you to easily contact Roland for anything you need including extra ice, help with the water toys, boat docking, help with coolers and general property questions.


Sandrine is our house keeper who is on property Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm that can assist with housekeeping requests. Sandrine may also be available on request for additional cleaning, provisioning and grocery/liquor store errands.

Guests have complete and private access to "Mermaid Cove" with private parking, entrance, patios, decks and stairs leading into the Sea of Abaco.

Guests also have access to the private marina and docks on the south side of the property. A pathway leads from “Mermaid Cove” to the dockage on the canal between Sugarloaf Cay and Eastern Shores.
Comfortable Adirondack chairs and tables are set up on the deck together with a fish cleaning station and private dock for up to a 50-foot boat.
Enjoy a completely different water view and vantage point with amazing sunsets.
Always available whether you bring your own boat, rent a boat, or just want another beautiful area to enjoy.

Guests are also always welcome to use the water toys including Kayaks, Paddle Boards and Water Mats on the south side of the property where the docks are located. This is a huge advantage as it provides a completely different area to explore by water in addition provides protected waters when the winds are blowing from the north.



* A rental car is recommended for movement around Marsh Harbour. Our property is at the end of a peninsula and easily accessible by car plus there is allot do do and see by car.
(Once booked we will send you our digital guidebook packed with information and things to do by land and sea)
* Taxi Cabs are available and always waiting at the airport for your convenience.
* The Ferry Dock with regular ferry service to surrounding islands and cays is less than a mile away located as you enter Eastern Shores. This makes it very easy to island hop around Abaco if you don’t have a boat.
* If you plan to rent a boat we recommend renting early as the rentals are very busy especially during season.
* For those that are bringing your own boat, please ensure you provide details on requesting your booking.

The entire Island of Abaco is still rebuilding after hurricane Dorian in September 2019, but the natural beauty of the island, ocean and beaches remain.

“Mermaid Cove” is a completely private and separate Villa on our large property. "Mermaid Cove" is located next to “Starfish Bay” our three bedroom rental home, both are directly on the Sea of Abaco. Both “Mermaid Cove” and “Starfish Bay” are available for rent together. (Subject to availability)

Our property also includes a private residence with multiple buildings including a guest house, water plant, power plant and private marina.

Perfect in every way!
Perfect location, amenities and view! The owners thought about everything you may need on vacation and graciously provided it. We utilized all the water toys and searched for shells every evening directly in front of the home. The AC works great, but with the breeze you rarely need it. You will love waking up and watching the sunset from the VERY comfortable bed. We definitely did and can’t wait to go back!

Paradise in Marsh Harbour
We had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid for 5 days in July. This place is absolutely gorgeous with breathtaking ocean views. The unit is immaculate, comfortable and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need on vacation. The upstairs has a large deck with outdoor seating for meals. We took advantage and cooked our fresh catch every night and enjoyed the sunsets and our wine out on the deck. The ground level provided lounge chairs and ocean access to swim/snorkel as well as paddleboard-available for use. We came by boat and used the assigned large dock that easily accommodated our 42’ Yellowfin on the canal side of the property. The dock had water/power, a cleaning table and plenty of seating as well. The area is fully secure and we felt comfortable leaving all of our rods and equipment on the boat which was a great piece of mind for us. Everything about this place is top draw with all the bells and whistles. In addition to being a great place in a wonderful location, the owners are unbelievably helpful. We had a boat engine issue on arrival and the owner referred us to his mechanic that got us up and running in a day-no simple task-blown lower unit being changed out in the Bahamas in less than 24 hours? Miraculous! Their concierge Roland went above and beyond as well, helping us unload our way too many things and procuring ice for the boat every morning. We can’t thank them all enough for the great care they took of us while we stayed at the Mermaid.

Mermaid Cottage is perfect! The location is very special and was perfect for boating to the other Cays. The cottage has everything you need during your stay and the owners are super prompt and helpful with any questions. We loved this spot and hope to return again to enjoy its' beauty! Thank you to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise with us!

Might be the best spot for a couple on the whole island !
The cottage was flawless, spotless and well maintained with a very enviable position literally your own private steps down to the Sea of Abaco. Dolphins in the morning if you are up early to enjoy coffee on the deck or the stairs to the water, cool off with a dip anytime you like, some beginner kayaking at your leisure, splashing fish at sunset, and views all day long. The hosts were in town and immediately responsive to a minor request for a small table, couldn't have been nicer! The ONLY reason the location isn't five stars is because you really need a car to get to restaurants, but in exchange for that you get more privacy at night, in a very safe gated neighborhood. One of the neighboring villas is quite close, but the mature landscaping helps with that, and we can't say more because it was unoccupied during our visit. Recommend a small car if you can get one as the streets and parking in general and at all the villas in the eastern shores is pretty tight. We had a great rental but it was full-size as we had some family to taxi around from the airport to treasure cay with luggage which made parking just a bit tighter still, but not a problem. The villa has a nicely appointed bathroom with both hand-held and mounted shower heads in the very large standup shower, and there were more towels (including beach towels) than you could use in 4 weeks, which was appreciated. And if you do somehow use them, there is a washer and dryer right in the unit with detergent etc ! Would recommend to any couple looking for a first experience in Marsh Harbour. A bit far from Treasure Cay for any events there, and not recommended to drive between the two at night, but if you can sacrifice a night in Marsh Harbour, it is great to return to Mermaid Cottage after a short visit to the northern part of the island. For Dining would recommend Da Blue Hole for nice dinner, and the bar upstairs for a drink, sunset, and lighter meal. Colors by the Sea is good for cold beer and local fish steamed in foil with plantains and goat peppers. Up in Treasure Cay on the advice of owners we had lunch at Treasure Sands Club, which was a cool outside club atmosphere with good food, if a bit pricey, but with better service than most too. Would return if in the area again.

Amazing hosts and wonderful snorkeling right outside the front door!
Hosts: Fantastic, have loads of information and easily reachable for any questions. House: Beautiful and completely renovated recently. Decor is fantastic. Fridge is only a counter high half fridge, so just FYI. Amenities were great. We had tons of fun snorkeling right off the front steps. Just wade into the water and have fun! Boat storage location was very close and easily accessible. Road to the house is unpaved, but not hard to drive on. Wifi and TV worked great. Overall we loved the house and if you are going to be in Marsh Harbour, I can't imagine a better place to stay. ______________________________________________________ Notes about the Area: Marsh Harbour is nice, but all the shops and restaurants had very random hours they would be closed, which was frustrating. We rented a boat, but it was much more difficult than we anticipated. Suggest you only rent a boat if you have a lot of experience with one. The town seems to be very quiet at night. Everything is very expensive in the Bahamas, and be prepared for a 12% VAT on every purchase, and usually automatic 18% gratuity at any restaurant/bar.

We love the water and Bahamas. We have travelled Bahamas for over 25 years and visited every island .
Originally we cruised Bahamas for first 20 years on various different boats we owned. We typically would cruise all the Bahamian islands for 3-4 months every year while living onboard our 80 foot boat. When we sold out boat we purchased the property and named it LUSEA , same name as all our boats.
We knew eventually we would purchase a property in Bahamas and Abaco was the perfect location blending beautiful Bahamian waters and beaches with excellent boating and conveniences.
We live between our out homes in Fort Lauderdale and Abacos.
We are very active on the island especially with Animal welfare and taking care of both dogs and cats on the island. After Hurricane Dorian we donated over one hundred thousand pounds of pet food for dogs and cats so the animals would not starve .We also actively support the local dog shelter and donated a mobile animal clinic to the shelter. We continue to work closely with the animals of Abaco and people supporting this cause.

Our rental homes are a perfect way for us to share our unique and beautiful location with guest.

When we found this property we immediately knew how special it was.
The natural beauty of this property is hard to beat anywhere in the world.
Eastern Shores is a private peninsula on great Abaco island that is surrounded by water. This sea to sea location offers the Sea of Abaco direct oceanfront on the North side and protected waters on the South Side where a lagoon forms between Sugarloaf Cay and eastern shores.
This allowed us to build our dream property having a Marina on the South side of the property with protected dockage in all weather conditions and oceanfront on the North side.
Views from north where Starfish Bay and Mermaid Cove are located are spectacular. Montage Cay (formerly Matt Lowes Cay) is less than a mile away forming a protected bay and clam waters in most conditions . Man O War Cay can be seem just 2 miles away .
Another amazing feature of the property is that water will always be protected on one side of the property, so that if it is windy on one side, typically the other side is calm and will allow for water sports in almost all weather conditions.
The property also has amazing natural vegetation and is elevated to allow excellent views and natural protection from the elements.
