This rustic with modern amenities cabin is located within minutes from Lake Ouachita and the Caddo River. Montgomery county also has something for everyone from hiking, biking, walking the many trails, digging crystals, as well as hunting and fishing. Our cabin is approximately 3 miles to Twin Creeks with access to a boat ramp, public swimming , and a fishing pier. It is also approximately ten miles to Ouachita Shores, Shangri La & Mountain Harbor Marina. The cabin has a full kitchen with bar seating for 2, a kitchen table that seats 5 and 4 double beds that sleeps eight people. The cabin is located out in the country beside the Ouachita Mountains but only minutes to Mt. Ida for groceries and mom and pop restaurants. If the night life or horse racing is what your looking for, Hot Springs is only 45 minutes from our newly built cabin and is home to Oaklawn Horse Racing. A 42 inch Roku TV is available as well as wifi added to the cabin for guests to enjoy. Please note we are a smoke free cabin and only allow smoking outside. We also love fur babies but have a strict no pets policy. Any violation of these rules by a renter will result in a minimum of a $500 fee upon their departure.

Half-way meeting spot

We met friends from Houston, TX. This cabin was a perfect half-way reunion spot. We were met with a beautiful, clean and comfy cabin, just as described! It was a perfect setup for the 8 of us. We enjoyed the nearby activities, including a day on Lake Ouachita. Beautiful scenery!

Great place to relax.

The location and accommodation were fantastic. We were close to Mt. Ida, but in an area that was away from everything. The cabin was the perfect size for my family to spend some time together. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions that I had and they were pleasant.

Spring Break - Crystal Digging!!

Great location for what we were there for as it was literally just over a mile from where we wanted to go. My kids and I had and absolute blast and the house was just perfect for us! We will definitely be returning!!

Great Place, Great Location!

This property was the perfect place to stay for us as we were interested in the crystal mines. Most of the places we wanted to go to were within a short driving distance. The cabin was a great home base! It was nice and private, not too close to anyone. Great place to enjoy the quiet of the evenings after a day of fun. Would definitely book again if we are back in the area. Thanks for a great stay!

Great 3 day stay at the Beautiful Bear Cabin

It was a super nice property. So loved our stay. It was very clean and the bed’s slept good for all three of us. Thank you for having a quality cabin for rent. (Only two things that could be upgraded if possible is the water pressures and the hot water temperature increased in the shower and sinks. There was one of the chairs in the back yard that had an armrest broken.)

Cabin in the woods

We spent most of our time away from the cabin but it was very clean and enough room for 8 people to comfortably move about. I left my pillow at home so the only negative thing that I experienced was there could have been nicer pillows on the beds. The cabin was actually bigger in person than what it looked in the pictures and we would definitely stay again.

Very nice and functional cabin

We had a great stay in this cabin, it is very functional, in good conditions, very clean and seems like new. The Owners have given good attention to the details and all is very armonic and enjoyable. We stayed with my wife and 2 teenagers. The cabin has separate rooms making it very convinient for couples with kids. The location was great for us and our plans, it is located in the middle of the National Forrest and 20 to 30 minutes from all the areas of our interest between Hot Springs, mines, lakes, forrest and nice towns. It is certainly a good choice and we can make plans to comeback at any time.

Great place but hard to find

Everything about this place was great except it is difficult to find. It is on a gravel road and is set back that you can't see the house until you turn down the driveway. The problem is google maps has you passing it up and there is no address on the road to let you know where to turn. You have to guess where to turn based on other addresses

Perfect place to unplug

First family trip with my nephews and this was not the place for it. Smores were amazing, the stars were perfect to gaze at, but the cell signal (we have tmobile) and wifi provided sucked. The amount of times i heard "i am bored" along with the lovely arkansas rain that did not allow them to run outside made me want to drive back to TX. It is about a 40 minute drive to hot springs with spotty signal along the way, so if hot springs is your destination stay in hot springs. Mount Ida and this home would be lovely for those trying to unplug and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Nice Cabin

Cabin is located on a property with 2 others (although they are spaced out). However, it looks like they are planning to build another and this one very close to the cabin we stayed at. I don’t think I would have liked being that close to another cabin of someone were staying there. The cabin seems newer, very clean and modern. It says you can sleep 8, which you can bed wise, but I fear anymore than the 5 we had, and we’d be on top of one another in the living room and kitchen, as there isn’t much other space to sit and hang out. We had planned on going to the store and grabbing the food we wanted and cooking for the week. I’d suggest going into Hot Springs, as the local grocery is more expensive. Also, there’s a few necessary items for the kitchen we didn’t have. There wasn’t a pitcher, so we went and purchased one, or a muffin tin so we improvised. We didn’t have a sponge to clean dishes so we had to use a kitchen rag. No biggie, just some things to keep in mind when planning meals- you may not have all the kitchen essentials. Double check it before planning meals. The internet worked great. We were able to login to stream tv. The chairs pictured on the front porch were on the back porch when we arrived and seemed to be broken. So we weren’t able to use those. But there was a picnic table on the back as well as two replacement chairs in the front porch. All in all, the cabin is nice and a good location if you want to use it as a base camp!
