Custom Log Home, maison de 2100 pieds carrés dans une prairie très privée de 17 acres complètement entourée par la forêt nationale. Belle vue sans autoroutes, voisins ou touristes bruyants en vue. Près de la randonnée, du vélo, des sentiers équestres, à moins de 1-2 miles de Mickelson Trail, terrain de golf, lac de pêche. Dans les 10-20 miles de Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Mt. Rushmore National Monument, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Sylvan Lake, Stockade Lake, Bismark Lake, Legion Lake.

Commodités: 3 chambres / 2 salles de bain, cuisine entièrement équipée avec micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle, cuisinière, réfrigérateur, laveuse / sécheuse. La cabine a un accès direct à des millions d'hectares de sentiers et de beaux paysages.
Dans les 1-2 miles est le sentier Mickelson qui s'étend sur plus de 100 miles de Deadwood à Edgemont. Les plus beaux lacs des collines, Sylvan, Legion, Bismark et Stockade sont tous à moins de 6 à 15 miles de la pêche, de la natation ou du canotage. Custer et Hill City voisine ont des tonnes de boutiques et de galeries uniques. Le parcours de golf local est à moins de 1,6 km, ou rendez-vous à Hot Spring jusqu'au parcours de golf élu «parcours de golf 9 trous n ° 1 en Amérique du Nord» par Golf Digest.

Bien sûr, le mont. Rushmore et Crazy Horse Memorial sont à 5-20 minutes. Le parc d'État de Custer, à 6 à 7 miles à l'est, possède l'un des plus grands troupeaux de buffles en liberté au monde, ainsi que des burros sauvages, des moutons à grosse corne, des chiens de prairie, des cerfs, etc. En octobre est le Buffalo Roundup avec un festival des arts de 2 jours. Les visiteurs peuvent regarder le tour d'horizon du Buffalo. Ils sont triés et certains sont vendus à la vente aux enchères de Buffalo plus tard à l'automne.

Mon préféré est les grottes - Wind Cave National Park et Jewel Cave National monument.

Le monument national de Jewel Cave est à 11 km et le parc national de Wind Cave est à 24 km. Ce sont deux grottes de classe mondiale avec des visites panoramiques et spéléologiques.

Bikers - Nous sommes situés à 2 miles à l'extérieur de Custer et à environ 75 miles pittoresques de Sturgis. Il y a environ 3/4 mile de route de gravier bien entretenue de l'autoroute à la cabine. Il y a une grande grange avec sol en béton pour ranger les vélos et les remorques.

Secluded peaceful convenient

We are a married couple that stayed 8 nights at this property. 17 acres of quiet in a beautiful crafted log cabin. Whitetail deer watching every evening from the covered porch. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. With that said property could use some attention. Landscaping & mowing could be better, a mowed path to white barn and pond would be nice. Broken old bureaus & cluttered closets were unusable. We adjusted and used spare bedroom bed as our closet/dressing room. Juke box and pinball machines did not work, but not a deal breaker, but they are advertised as working, so they should work. No pellets for pellet stove and pilot out on gas fireplace. We adjusted and used some candles for ambiance. Window sills full of dead flies and moths clearly not cleaned before our arrival. I cleaned them up so it wasn’t gross. Family room ceiling fan switch broken so could not shut it off. But ultimately when we adjusted & got past these things we were out all day and spent each evening on the porch, which was heavenly. Sleeping was peaceful. Location was perfectly located close to the town of Custer for restaurants, groceries and gas. Hill City not far off for more restaurants. All the sites were easily reached and even Devil’s Tower and the Badlands were further afield but doable. Would recommend strictly on location and beauty of the log construction but it really needs some love.

Private, Quiet, and Cozy cabin

Whitetail Springs Ranch is exactly as advertised. It sits off a gravel road in a quiet wooded area, but just a few miles from downtown Custer. We saw deer every day on the ranch. The pinball machine and jukebox were a hit with our family. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We did have a couple issues (microwave wasn't working and WIFI was slow), but the owner was very quick to respond and both items were fixed promptly. You will not regret renting this property. It's perfectly located to everything the Black Hills has to offer.

Absolutely beautiful!

This property is beautiful and the location is great. We enjoyed the juke box, sitting on the back porch watching the wildlife, grilling, and sitting by the fire pit on the deck. Would love to stay here again! We loved Custer state park and the downtown area. We saw all the sights with minimal driving. Highly recommend!

STINKY SHEETS - Excellent Place- Pin Ball Wizard FUN!

What a magical special place. So convenient to Custer. The Pin Ball machine was such an awesome touch. The juke box was fun too. *There is no reason using HEAVY Perfume for laundry or cleaning. It does not make it a pleasant experience for many people. We all do not like the over the top perfume smell.

Cozy Cabin

Great property for a family getaway! My husband and I and our 2 kids enjoyed taking a week to just relax with no obligations. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the property. Kids enjoyed playing outside in the snow and we enjoyed lounging by the fireplace. It was close enough to Custer to still go in for groceries or have a meal out. It makes small town living very appealing. It's a nice place to chill out and unwind from the crazy pace of life!

Great location for visiting the Black Hills

This log cabin home is on a beautiful private property but only minutes from Custer State park and the town of Custer. The town has plenty of shops and restaurants and the state park and Black Hills are magnificent. The best features of this property are the location, privacy, the great porch. Shane the host was friendly and responsive and helped us out with a request. The beds, bathrooms and appliances were clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The cabin looks exactly as pictured on the website. There were a couple of very minor details that could use some attention and I feel the house overall could benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. But we really enjoyed our stay there.

Great place in the country to unwind

Beautiful house on a peaceful and isolated piece of property. Only about ten minutes from town and close to all the Black Hills area attractions. Very well appointed, all the conveniences, great gas fireplace, stunning views and so quiet. Perfect for winding down, getting awY or as a home base for area fun.

Beautiful Property and Great Location!

We stayed here in order to be centrally located to the many parks and monuments South Dakota has to offer. We immediately felt at home the minute we arrived. The property is gorgeous and we enjoyed dinners on the deck, as well as watching the thunderstorms roll by. The house was comfortable and clean, and checking in and out was a breeze. The best part was how centrally located we were to National Parks and Monuments, Custer State Park, and we even ventured up to Devils Tower. We definitely would stay here again!

FANTASTIC!

More than we expected. The location is great. Only about 1.5 miles from Custer. The property is very secluded and private. Deer came right up to the house to eat. The managers stopped by making sure everything was ok and to drop off bottled water in case we didn't care for the well water. Very friendly. The house is decorated beautifully and spacious. Highly recommend.

Relax, breath and settle in...

We loved this location!! Custer is a small, but growing city...this house is close, but secluded. Every morning we had a view of deer in the yard, wild turkeys and a beautiful view of this property! We ate most meals on the deck and loved the daily visits of the mountain bluebirds and northern flickers. Beautiful location to establish as home base for day trips to the monuments, Custer National Park and other activities that include hot air ballooning, helicopter tours, horseback riding, atvs...almost anything you can think of!

Hidden Wooded Treasure

Cabin in a beautiful setting off the beaten path. Acres of serenity, complete with a family of white tail deer. We had to contact the owner/manager about, who responded kindly and promptly, and were resolved promptly. Great hide-a-way within a couple miles of great restaurants and groceries.

Impressive! A Wonderful Cabin to Vacation In

The Property Manager, Shane, is very easy to reach for communication, and that’s beautiful! I have to comment that this place was sparkling clean. My hat’s off to the cleaning staff. Every blanket and sheet was quite fresh also. I thoroughly enjoyed that about this place. And offering so many spare blankets to use watching tv and for weight on the bed was very kind and unexpected. Thank you. The air conditioning rocked. That was working very well, allowing us to cool the house to a great sleeping temperature. The beds were so comfortable that we felt fully rested every morning. And the water was delicious! It was like fresh spring water, to drink and to cook with. We enjoyed so many features. Everything in the kitchen works great for cooking and every pan or dish I needed was there. And they were nice items, not junk. Impressive! We found plenty to watch with the services offered for tv, and the Property Manager helped us use the Roku to find Netflix. Loved the romantic lighting. Very much enjoyed the pinball machine and jukebox. My favorite in the evening was sitting on the back deck under those beautiful stars and with such a gorgeous setting in the mountains. I didn’t expect such a view off the deck. The hills in the yard and mountains beyond, with the pond inside, is beautiful and relaxing. This cabin offered far more amenities than any other I’ve stayed in. Thanks for caring and thank you for offering such a wonderful cabin to vacation in.

Wonderful!

The setting of this home is unbelievable. Our favorite part of our trip was eating our meals on the deck and enjoying the view. The bathrooms are not fancy, but get the job done. :-). We are so happy we were able to stay in this home and will always remember it. The pinball machine was an added bonus!

Can't beat the beauty of the location and very convenient to all there is to do in the area. As others noted, does need a little TLC in places, but would definitely stay here again.

Quiet, peaceful with perfect location

Sitting in the middle of 18 acres was so peaceful, yet only 5 min drive to Custer. The location was close to everything. A great location for families. The house has plenty of room, especially with the extra family room. The twin beds are not the most comfortable, so keep that in mind if an adult needs to sleep in there. Overhead lighting is not the best, but everything else was great. I would rent there again.

Black Hills Treasure!!

We absolutely loved the house and the land it sits on. It is close to town but far enough away that it was peaceful and private. The rustic decor added to the Black Hills mystique. We were pleasantly surprised by the pinball machine and juke box. The pinball machine offered some fun and competitive play and the jukebox inspired an impromptu dance party in the kitchen that will be remembered by all of us. Our grandchildren loved the rock formations near the house. The house was well-stocked in the kitchen and with extra towels and bedding. We highly recommend this property to any family that loves the great outdoors.

Hi there! We are Shane and Kianna Binger and we own TrailHound Cabin Co. We’re just a couple of trailhounds who visited the Black Hills and decided to stay forever. We think you’ll like it too. Whether it’s the sightseeing or outdoor activities, there’s a little something for everyone.

We’ve been together since 2013 and tied the knot in scenic Spearfish Park. Kia is local – sort of. She’s from Philip, South Dakota, near the Badlands, and her parents have hand-painted the Wall Drug signs since 1991. Shane grew up on the other side of the state on a farm near Tulare, South Dakota. We actually met on a school trip to Washington, DC, so traveling has always been close to our hearts! In our free time, we love hiking, kayaking, basically anything outdoors, and traveling to new places. Come visit us and we’ll show you some of our favorite Black Hills destinations!
