The beautiful house is on a very unique location, in the middle of a forest, with lots of privacy and a big garden. There are many things to see and do in the area, like canoeing, walking, swimming in the lake close by, and visit nice towns and markets.
La Mûche, that's the name of the property, is an irristible combination of "get away from it all" and "home away from home". We love the isolation and the silence, as well as the confort of the place.
The hunting lodge and the forest (120 acres) where the house is located were purchased by my grandfather, who enjoyed hunting with his friends and meals in front of the fireplace. After my father inherited the property he bought the frame and foundation of a 200 year old Normand timber-frame house and built la Mûche in 1974 in an area of the forest with views of the Risle river.
Being in the middle of a forest with a view of the valley provides a great place to relax away from traffic and the pressures of modern life. Having 120 acres gives many walk opportunities and a place for children to play. In early 2017, La Mûche was the recipient of an award from the Agency for Tourism Development of Eure.
