The house was neat and clean. plenty of room for us to enjoy being with each other. we played cards, shot pool,watched movies. The beach was close enough you could stay on on the side streets to get there. wish i would have checked the jelly fish reportbefore going though. the swimming pool and hot tub were too cold to play in just that time of year. maybe june or july would be betterthis is no reflection on the house

It was ok!

Location was great! House is NOT handicap accessible. Showers and carpets were nasty. Grill was rusted out and filthy. Parking was interesting considering it sleeps 13 and there is only Parking for 5 cars. Definitely not worth the price!

In need of some TLC

The house had no AC in the basement the whole time we were there. Property management aware but it was never fixed. The house could definitely deserve a little TLC.

Great location and size! But has needs…

Absolute perfect location - near King & Prince, Crabdaddy’s, Crab Trap, Barrier Island Brewery, and Fiddlers (all within short walking distance). Can walk to beach! Plenty of parking and room for a group. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean. Bunk room is very small but probably fine for smaller kids or if you don’t mind sharing space in close quarters. Plenty of bathrooms for large group! Carpets needs to be replaced, as does the rug in living room (was clean, but had stains). Hot tub does not get hot and pool needed to be cleaned. A few outlets did not work. Dryer also went out while we were there, but property manager communicated quickly and accommodated by bringing extra towels for us during the stay. Overall, it was pretty decent and we would stay there again.

We read reviews before booking that mentioned the bottom floor ac not working, bugs in basement, bunk beds wobbly and carpet stains. We were reassured that all of this was taken care of before our stay. Well, clearly it wasn't, basement had roaches on roll away bed, basement ac not working, kids couldn't sleep on bunk beds because they were so wobbly, floors disgusting carpet stains ... great location, but property manager and owner should be ashamed to continue to rent this out with these same issues happening for a full year (based on last review from 2024 stating same issues) Maintenance came out quickly which was great, Vacasa said they would refund us a night for our troubles (kids had to sleep on air matresses we brought in basement instead of bunk "room") and has ghosted me since with no credit given.

Loved it

We loved the house and the location. There was plenty of space/beds making it a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a great! I had difficulty getting a hold of the management company. And there was a bag of trash left in the kitchen and not enough toilet paper. Other than those minuscule things, I highly recommend staying here. It was lovely.

Nice property. Great location!

We had a great stay at this property. It is in a nice location just a short walk from Neptune Beach. It has plenty of room for a large family. There are some lights on the property, mainly in the backyard pool area, that need repaired.

Great stay, walkable to everything

Wonderful stay here. Walkable to a few bars and restaurants, bike rentals, coffee, ice cream, beach, etc. Would definitely stay again. Could use a bit more outdoor seating for that wonderful front porch!

Nice beach house for the family

The house is nice especially the main floor, the kitchen and dinning areas are great. The pool while smile was perfect for cooling off and the distance to the beach was an easy walk. The bass and why I gave an over all three star. The bottom floor AC did not work and the bottom floor had a strong mildew smell. And while it’s a small thing only half of the jets in the jacuzzi worked. The beds were comfortable and I would stay here again and recommend to friends and family. And the price was right.

We loved the spaciousness of the house and it’s location. We think the bathrooms could use an upgrade and the house walls could be cleaner. Overall we enjoyed our stay on your lovely island.

St Simon’s House w Pool

The house is not in perfect, pristine condition (screen torn, carpet heavily used, blinds broken), BUT we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was large for our entire family to feel comfortable. It was super close to the beach (about a 4-5 minute walk). It had so many things to keep everyone entertained (pool, hot tub, games, pool table). The company representative was easy to work with. Even the neighbors were nice! If you can overlook a few cosmetic issues, you’ll find that this house is a gem. My family loved our time here.

Dirty & Run Down - Do Not Recommend

The door code didn't work and the phone number to call wasn't able to provide support for us. A service man had to come and physically let us in. This delayed our entry significantly. The carpet is very stained and dirty. The floors were not mopped and if you walk around the house barefooted then the bottoms of your feet turn black from dirt. There was old food and trash out by the pool and spa area. The spa water was green and cold. The pool had a heavy odor. The pool company had to come out the next day. The service man had to drain the spa, clean it, repair it and refill it. So it was late afternoon of the next day, that we were able to use the pool and spa. There is zero lights in the back yard. No one can see to go down the steps safely. The wooden privacy fence door doesn't close much less lock, and the fence is also dilapidated and falling down. A main level bedroom and living room has zero working lights in the room. The air conditioning on the ground level is "duck" taped to the wall. The cracks in the kitchen floor have food and dirt all in them. The kitchen table was filthy, it had old food, stains and raisins all over the table. Stove top and ice dispenser don't work. The coffee maker had old dried coffee grounds in it. The dryer had wet towels in it. The house has multiple broken railings outside, and railing spacing inside is dangerous for toddlers. Outside trash cans stayed full, preventing us from taking our trash out. YOU CAN NOT WALK TO THE BEACH -

It was good until….

Overall, property was as described. It has the opportunity to be a premier stay on the island. However, cleanliness is an issue. It is in need of a deep clean. The carpet has many stains. There were empty beer bottles under the couch upon arrival. The worst part was the cockroaches. I killed several large cockroaches in the downstairs bedroom. One was in the bed. I hope the owner addresses this.

The bedroom with the tv on the kitchen floor doesn't drain water in the shower. The water was an inch deep the next morning.

Great location cleanliness and accuracy questionable

While the house is in a great location and walkable distance to Myrtle Street beach and short drive to the pier and shops, the house needs work. Bunk bed is broken and unstable. No child would be able to safely sleep on the stop bunk. Half of the outlets in the house do not work Bathroom handles are broken The floors are filthy and sheets smell terrible like baby vomit. There’s no way the sheets were cleaned before our arrival. The sink in the kitchen backs up and the disposal does not work. There are paintings off from the wall sitting on floors Pool cue holder was broken but we fixed it. All of the pieces were on the sink. Door to enter garage does not latch properly so you have to leave it locked at all times or the door will open. Outside shower does not work well. Hot tub is absolutely filthy and disgusting. The water is full of sand and hair and leaves. It does not appear to have been cleaned for a very long time. This needs completely emptied, scrubbed and refilled. Most of the jets do not work either. The pool is cloudy and dirty. The pool lights do not work. The outside lights near the pool and hot tub do not work. The dryer does not dry clothes. You have you rerun it 2 to 3 times for it to work. The grill ran out of propane the first 10 minutes we tried to use it.

Would not recommend this rental

The house was advertised as having a backyard kids could play in, a hot tub, and an outdoor shower. The back yard was dug up in preps to install a small pool, the hot tub area was filthy and strewn with various debris (maybe from the hot tub?), the back stairs from the porch down to the hot tub had been removed, and the outdoor shower was being used as a storage area for building lumber. Workmen were in the back yard Saturday and Monday using power tools for the pool installation. The house was advertised as accommodating 13 but only had one 50-gallon electric water heater so we constantly ran out of hot water. One area of the carpet in the Master Bedroom was soaking wet. We reported it and got a text saying the appropriate people would be informed. No one contacted us or showed up. The ceiling in the basement bathroom and hallway showed signs of obvious long-term water leak and what appeared to be black mold (directly below the wet carpet area in the MBR). The hand-hold in the basement shower was delaminating chrome and there was mold and mildew in the grout. The stair carpeting leading to the basement was heavily soiled and in need of replacement. There were no paper towels in the kitchen, and insufficient toilet paper (no replacement rolls in the house), and only enough washing detergent for 1 load of laundry (but they asked us to start sheets and towels before we left. Many aspects of the house were attractive, but the water leak and basement bathroom require serious maintenance attention. I have pictures of the yard and bathroom to show the condition. This rental was not as advertised and we deserve a significant rebate on the rent.
