Saint-Germain-de-Livet Manor House (1776)

Step into nearly 250 years of Norman heritage at this beautifully preserved 1776 manor house, set within its own private parkland in the peaceful countryside of the Pays d'Auge, Calvados.

This is a rare, privately-owned historic estate rather than a hotel — and it doesn't try to be one. Its half-timbered Norman architecture, original period details and generous reception rooms offer an authentic and exclusive alternative to conventional luxury accommodation, full of genuine character.

The manor comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests across four bedrooms: a master suite with its own private bathroom, plus three further bedrooms each with a private shower room.

Inside, guests enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living areas with an open fireplace, and a games room with a billiard table for relaxed evenings. Outside, an extensive private park and complete privacy — no immediate neighbours — create a peaceful retreat in the heart of Normandy.

The manor underwent a full renovation in the 1970s and has since been carefully refreshed, balancing its historic soul with everyday comfort. We look forward to sharing this unique piece of Normandy with you.

House policies

Maximum occupancy is 10 guests. Given the size of the grounds, requests for additional guests (including tents or camper vans) may be considered case by case, subject to prior written approval from the owner; no additional guests may stay without confirmation ahead of arrival.

The manor is strictly non-smoking indoors. Smoking is permitted outdoors only, with respect for the grounds and using the ashtrays provided — please do not discard cigarette butts in the park or garden.

Events, parties, receptions, large gatherings, outdoor installations, amplified sound systems, or unregistered guests are not permitted without the prior written approval of the owner.
