Comprising an attractive craftsman and detached carriage house, this lake-view getaway will be just the place to gather with friends and family. Spend fun-filled days enjoying the community pool, tennis courts, and endless lake activities including fishing, swimming, and boating. The Lake Junaluska Meditation and Fishing Pier is just across the street.

Inside the main house, you will find a two-story interior with five bedrooms and three full baths. Cozy up beside the fireplace as you watch favorite shows in the living room. There will be no need to head out for meals each night, as the full kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare family-favorite recipes. The dining area can accommodate everyone with ease, or you can dine alfresco on the furnished patio as the sun goes down. Best of all, the large front porch provides a front-row view of beautiful Lake Junaluska.

The carriage house boasts a spacious two-story layout with one bedroom and bath. A well-equipped kitchen waits to assist with whipping up tasty meals after a day on the lake. Plus, movie nights will be calling your name in the cozy living area, complete with a comfortable sofa bed and flatscreen TV.

The home is in an excellent location. It is an older home in need of some updates but it was clean and cool. The front porch was really special.

Great views, lots of room

Great space with privacy and shared spaces. We had 3 different families sharing the space and it worked great. Several living spaces and a large dining table plus the porch with lake view and access to all the amenities make this a great spot!

Biggest issue was check in. No one indicated that the lock box was in a very hard to find area around back of the house. And agent on the phone did not know where it was either. So after 3 !/2 hours of driving aging parents had a hard time and delayed time getting into the house.

The Veiw is beautiful!

The front porch of this home is amazing. The house is amazing and has wonderful old charm, but it is old and has some issues that come with that so keep that in mind. Sitting on the porch looking out at the views including seeing an eagle perched in a nearby tree was wonderful. We loved the location. Furniture inside is nice, wonderful sitting area out back.

Plenty of room for family, beautiful lakeside home. However it is in need of a little love and updating. Wi-Fi is only 2G . If you like classic Junaluska home, this is for you.

Little Getaway

We loved the view from the porch. But be careful on the front steps some are falling apart. Besides that the outside was very cute. The inside was nice kitchen was updated nicley but all the doors need work some wouldn’t shut and some once shut you had a hard time opening them.

A Beautiful View Terrible Summer Heat and Service Experience

While this is a beautiful property, it lacks air conditioning sufficient for any 80 summer day. The upper floor bedrooms are completely unusable. We planned to accommodate 8 people for five nights, and had to relocate 4 of them after the first night for health and safety reasons caused by the heat. Vacassa, the management company, offered box fans that did not solve the problem. They claim that these issues are disclosed in the listing, but one has to dig deep in the listing to find them. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE IN SUMMER. As we complained about this property at our annual music conference, we found groups who had this same experience in the summers of 2023 and 2024. Shame on all associated with this property.

Wedding weekend

Daughter chose location. Booked this house for family and gathering place. Beautiful location and house but filthy. Cobwebs inside everywhere, furniture dusty, gross light in kitchen, blood on mattress cover. Dealt with 800 number for problem then the next am contacted local agent. They sent head housekeeper over. Showed pictures and what we had not got to yet. Whole place just needs a deep clean. Also bathrooms are very small on bottom floor.

Be advised this house is over 100 years old and the listing photos do not accurately reflect the condition of the house. It has great character and a lot of potential. Unfortunately it has been neglected and the cleanliness details have been overlooked. Upon arrival we had a difficult time locating the appropriate key boxes and had to call customer service. Some of the issues: the oven was disgusting and had grease all over the door on the inside and outside; there were a couple of broken drawers in the kitchen, the upholstered furniture was heavily stained & soiled; the linens on one of the beds had obviously not been changed, it had clearly been slept in; the A/C unit in the upstairs twin room was leaking water so bad that the wall is heavily stained and the floor was wet; the upstairs shower drained so slow that water covered your feet while showering; all of the mattresses are very lumpy, soft and worn out; we did not have a sufficient amount of towels for everyone; there were spiderwebs all over inside & outside; the landscaping was overgrown & unkept; there was no way to leave the back door unlocked so we had to leave it cracked open for everyone to come & go without getting locked out; most of the closets were overfilled with storage items; I could keep going with examples but I think I’ve made the point. I communicated with customer service about the issues after our arrival and was told I would receive resolution & a call the following day. I never heard from anyone

Decent house, gorgeous view

Just back from Lake J and this house. It was an excellent location with a gorgeous view. Very easy to get everywhere on the lake. The house itself is fine. Not amazing. The bedroom we stayed in had the creakiest bed I have ever slept in and the mattresses were super soft (not my favorite). The AC was great and the kitchen was well-equipped. All in all a decent rental.

It was ok

Home was a good family home with lots of space, but a bit dated and not cleaned very well. The upstairs bedrooms are a bit warm and needs a couple of fans to cool it down. Overall, decent property with room for improvement

Home Away From Home

Our group has visited Lake Junaluska this time every Fall for 15 years and stayed here 9 times. The house has all we need plus one of the best views on the lake. It’s perfect for porch-sitting, and the fireplace is great for cool evenings.

Beautiful front porch view

We have stayed at this house 17 times over the past two decades. This is the first time coming back after not staying in it for three years. A lot of great family memories as our children and grandchildren have experienced the beautiful view. The layout is great and the bedroom configurations are very good. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and appliances. Linens are very good! It is an older house and needs repair in some places. It appears that it has been a while since it has been deep cleaned. It was surface cleaned, but we had to clean the front windows to see the beautiful view and a few other places as well (surfaces and floors). We really needed to clean some other areas, but didn’t want to spend our whole vacation cleaning. We enjoyed our past years and the memories we made. It just needs a good overall deep cleaning of all areas and some repairs.

Location, Location, Location!

Our family absolutely loved this house as it sits on the fringe of the lake, with a great view from the shaded front porch where we sat with our coffee each morning observing nature’s beauty…..Canada geese, mallards and swans were abundant and on our last morning we were treated to the landing of a bald eagle on a nearby tree! From the front steps we could immediately step onto the Rose Walk circling the lake and easily walk to everything associated with the Conference Center. Having the carriage house on the property was another asset as was the covered back patio with gas grill. The kitchen was extremely well supplied and with four bathrooms & six bedrooms this is a perfect rental for a large family or a group of friends. We hope to gather here again.

Beautiful home. Perfect for our family. 5 adults and 7 children. Front porch is the best view of lovely Lake Junaluska. 2 mile walking trail around the lake, playground, tennis, basketball court, ducks and swans, flowers... We played cribbage every night at the large dining table. One of our favorite places to be together.

This is a beautiful old home that has been allowed to get tired. With such good bones… it needs a fresh coat of paint throughout the house, rotting wood removed in the bathrooms, old furniture needs to be replaced, and thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom.

Lake Junaluksa vacation

Enjoyed the area so much. Front porch right on the lake was stunning all hours of the day. The game room had everything our grandchildren could want. Good restaurants. Great shopping and wonderful people. My family will definitely come again. Thank you 😊

Great location

With a house full of participants in the SEJ event, this was a stunning location. We enjoyed our meals together with ample seating for 10, enough room to spread out, and time to decompress by the fire after sessions.
