The best part of my stay was the Barranco neighborhood. Unfortunately, the unit itself left much to be desired.
To start, the host failed to provide instructions on how to access the unit before my arrivalâhe didnât even tell me the unit number. I had to get that information from the front desk. Once I arrived at the unit, I realized I had no access code, forcing me to stand outside and email the host for instructions. I had to wait there until I received a response with the entrance code.
After an 11-hour journey to Lima, I was eager to showerâonly to find no towels in the unit. When I informed the host, he insisted there should be towels. I checked againâthere were none. He said he would send someone to bring towels, but when I asked when, he vaguely mentioned a "delay due to an incident"âwhatever that meant. My cousin and I ended up buying towels from a local store. Completely unacceptable. Someone eventually arrived with towels about two hours later, but by then, the frustration had already set in.
The unitâs listing also claimed it had two fans. In reality, there was one weak fan and a heaterânot what was advertised.
To make matters worse, I found hair in the shower from a previous guest and ants in the kitchen. This was shocking, especially since the host had emailed me earlier that day saying they needed extra time to ensure the unit was clean. Clearly, it wasnât.
I will never stay at this location again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
