Great hosts, fantastic accommodation, easy access, secure, spotless, great air con, peaceful with beautiful views.Thank you Sherry and Larry, happy hour drinks much appreciated, it was a pleasure to meet you both.
Great apartment with a great veranda with a spectacular view of the ocean. A lovely private pool with jungle and ocean views.Great accommodating hosts who are friendly and kind. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well appointed. It is located close to town and up on a hill.
This was the perfect place to escape the crowded beach of Samara, get a lovely reset and then go back down to enjoy the restaurants - sunrises and sunset horseback riding! :)
Communication with Larry- perfect! Property was impeccably kept. Sounds of nature and peace echoed day and night. Views from a postcard. Conversations at happy hour- priceless. Advice for food and sights- spot on! Wish I could have stayed longer⊠sincerely left my heart with Sherry and Larry until I return.
The view!!! We really enjoyed getting to know the area from above. We had views for miles, yet it was a quick ride to 2 beaches. The apartment had everything we needed and the hosts were very nice and available for our needs. You can't go wrong with this place!
Stunning view and incredibly friendly hosts! We really enjoyed our stay here. The VRBO app did show the houseâs location to be very close to downtown Samara⊠but it was actually about a 5-10 minute drive. Other than the location being a little different than expected, everything else exceeded expectations! Would stay again!
Sherry and Larry were great hosts and the apartment was a perfect fit. There are beautiful views of the ocean from both the window and balcony, and the neighborhood is quiet, which we really appreciated. It's within minutes of the Samara business district where you can find just about everything a visitor needs. I would definitely stay here again!
Larry and Sherry were wonderful hosts! The view from the balcony is truly gorgeous , and the apartment is as listed: spacious bedroom, full kitchen, pullout, couch, and pool.
Please note that you will need a car to enjoy your stay here. The listing map does not accurately detail how far it is from downtown Sara. However, a parking place is provided and it is a 10 minute drive.
We LOVED staying here. It was a nice reprieve from the town centre and offered a completely different view being up so high. We did book it because it was walking distance to the beach, but I wouldn't really say it is as it's a pretty dusty dirt road a long way down, so the way back up would be pretty intense.
Clean, well equipped and spacious one bedroom apartment. There are great outdoor spaces and wonderful pool.
Larry and Sherry are friendly, kind and have great recommendations. We always love out stays here and are excited to return next year!
Magical location with the best perch to enjoy the spectacular view. Better than the pictures! Sherry and Larry were so kind and welcoming and the villa was perfectly set up with lots of space. Even the kitchen has a view. We enjoyed walking to the beach and back every morning and then exploring the rest of the area during the day. Beautiful!
We had an amazing time at Larry & Sherryâs beautiful guest villa. Every detail of the unit was well thought out and intentional. You can really tell they have put a lot of thought into making sure itâs just right for the guests. It was hard to leave it was so perfect. From the most epic view on the balcony, to the lovely pool and a wonderful happy hour with the hosts, we had a great time. We hope to come back next time weâre in Samara. Fully recommend!!
This was a very special trip for us as we decided to take a second honeymoon and we stayed 12 nights. It was our first trip out of the United States. The view from the balcony was spectacular! Larry and Sherry were wonderful hosts. We SO appreciate them going to Carrillo Beach with us and taking pictures/videoing while we said our renewal vows to each other. That was so special and something we'll never forget. We totally enjoyed them guiding us on a quad ride through the countryside also. What a way to experience the culture and overall beauty of the country. The home was very clean and comfortable. The only problem we experienced was that the refrigerator wasn't working well at all. They tried to get it fixed, but finally had to replace it. They did let us use the small refrigerator in the garage and refunded us some money to make up for the inconvenience. We loved the balcony and private pool! We do recommend a 4-wheel drive as the drive up is partially a rough uphill drive. Nativos Car Rental in Liberia is a great local car rental company and will treat you right. Anibal Morales is the owner and he was fabulous. We went on a few adventures for which both companies picked us up at the house and brought us back. We highly recommend the zipline/sky walk/sky tram tour at Monteverde through the Nature Center in Samara and the dolphin/snorkeling tour through Samara Adventures. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay 2 more weeks!
We loved our stay in Samara. Sherry and Larry are the absolute best hostess and host. We enjoyed âhappy hourâ with them on a couple of evenings. The views are amazing and the people of Samara are very friendly and kind!
We had a wonderful stay at the Villa! Sherry & Larry were wonderful hosts and so accommodating. We had everything we needed especially for a trip to the beach! We canât thank you both for all of your hospitality to making it a fun and relaxed trip for us. Your home is beautiful and the views from the pool are something we will remember forever!
There is not much to add as all reviews are excellent and this one is no exception. Of course THE VIEW is unbeleivable. The host are the best. If you have issues walking you should rent a car as it's up-hill walking back to the house. We were there 3 weeks so we rented a car from Samara Hot Rental in town and they had the best price. Small car for $70 bucks a day and we drove all over but try to stay on paved road unless you have a 4X4. We stayed overnight different places and all was good. There are lots of restaurant in Samara. If you want to eat cheap go to what they call a SODA. Besides that our two favorite places to eat with good food and resonable price was at the Sheriff behind police station and the one in the food court which I can't remember the name but it's mostly vegan and the salads are really good and big portions. If you have a sweet tooth go to ROOTS bakerry open for breakfast and lunch. A must see is The Carrillo Beach. About 5-10 minutes drive from the house. Whoever designed that beach deserves an award. It's stunning. Every Saturday morning in Samara is the farmers market which is nice. Ticos are very friendly people and proud of there country with good reason. Thank you Larry and Sherry (and Misha) for sharing a piece of your paradise with us.

My husband and I are originally from Canada and came to Costa Rica on vacation for the first time in 1991. We fell in love with the people and gentle lifestyle and made Costa Rica our permanent home in the year 2000. We enjoy being close to the ocean and completed our final dream home and rental villa in 2009. We are always delighted to meet new people from around the world and hence our decision to build a rental accommodation in order to help newcomers feel comfortable in any way we can.
We searched all down the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and chose Samara because of its natural tropical beauty and abundance of monkeys and other wildlife and yet is close to many services. We can see and hear the sound of the surf and have the benefit of gentle sea breezes all year round. Samara is the safest swimming beach in the country, next-door Carrillo Beach is to us the most beautiful as well as being renowned for deep-sea fishing and nearby Camaronal is a protected turtle-nesting ground as well as an expert surfing beach. Location is close to the beach and town. One of the International Airports (Liberia) is less than a 2-hour drive.
There are many things to do in the area including swimming, surfing (beginner and expert), scuba diving, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, ATV touring, biking, various organized tours including seeing the dolphins or visiting a nearby turtle-nesting beach, horseback riding, ultra-lite planes, canopy tours, numerous options for dining/sunset cocktails, or just relaxing in a hammock or by the pool. The beach is within walking distance and the drive to town is a mere 3 minutes.
