Beautiful Waterfront Getaway in Downeast, Maine—Close to Trails and Parks

This waterfront, private retreat is secluded and peaceful with plenty of space to spread out—right on the water! The 1200 square foot apartment has many amenities including: 2 solo kayaks with paddles and various sizes of life vests, hi-def projector including streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ with sound system, books, board games and puzzles, a kitchenette, NordicTrack treadmill, and more. Enjoy all sorts of wildlife from deer to bald eagles, shorebirds, porcupines, fox, coyote, and more. At high tide, paddle out to Lords Island or take a trip around the peninsula. The local supermarket and gas station are just minutes away, yet the setting is completely rural.
Head out to hike some of Maine's best trails or drive to Acadia National Park, The Bold Coast, Jasper Beach, Schoodic Peninsula, or any of the amazing local rivers and lakes. Visit tourist-free coastal towns or go antiquing. Buy fresh lobster or local clams off the boat at the local harbor—cook over the open fire, on a propane burner, or grill on the large Weber grill with an additional side burner—all with gorgeous water views! Please note this property is on a cove with a 14-foot tidal change. Enjoy watching the shorebirds and clammers at low tide!

This unit is the first floor of a two-unit home, but you will have the property to yourself most of the time.

Peaceful and Welcoming

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Lily Cove. It was not only peaceful but the house was clean and bright and had so much to offer. I thought I would miss not having a stove but the outside grill and burner was sufficient enough to prepare what we needed. It was also a good location to explore the Bold Coast of Maine. The host, Aviva, answered all my questions and concerns promptly. When we come back to the area, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect Down East home base!

The house was beautiful, right on Lily Cove, easy access to Hwys 1& 1A, clean, spacious, well-provisioned
.a perfect 10 in our estimation! Loved our stay here! Aviva was a perfect host, great communication, provided lots of helpful information. Very pleased and highly recommend for a beautiful place off the beaten path and away from the crowds.

Solitude

We felt we were 100's of miles away from anything. Only a few miles to groceries and restaurants. The view of the bay and sunrises were amazing. Lots of hiking in the area. Bar Harbor was a nice day trip. Canada a little more than a hour drive. Lot's of small towns to explore. The VRBO was excellent. Had everything we needed. We were skeptical at first about no stove and small refrigerator. No problem, nice grill to cook on and refrigerator was big enough for food. There was a cooler outside to keep your drinks. Owners very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Owners were very helpful

Quiet, relaxing place with great water view

The place was VERY clean and comfortable and we would go back in a heartbeat. It can handle a small family, since there is a bed in the common area. The kitchen area doesn't support cooking as there is not a stove/oven, but is well accessorized with a microwave and utensils, and there is a nice grill and a fire pit for those who wish to utilize them. Everything about the place felt new, clean and nice. The towels were great - thick, new and absorbent! It has the feeling of being very remote, especially since we arrived at night. If you can arrive during the day it will make the drive easier, but arriving at night adds to the remote feeling. It's about an hour and 15 minutes drive to Acadia National Park. Provided citronella candles made it easy to sit outside. We did just that, enjoying quiet convo on our 1st night and found a porcupine had settled near us - that was pretty cool! Creative types may find it attractive as there was an easel set up with a fresh canvas - inviting to try your hand at a painting of the beautiful surroundings. I assume that was the intent, although I didn't look around for paints/brushes. We enjoyed an incredible sunrise right from the comfort of the master bed - that was a treat! Aviva was very quick to respond to all questions and communications, both before and during our stay, and all were supportive and friendly. She sent us a document containing restaurant and area attraction info, which was helpful. She also leaves a 3 ring binder in the unit for easy reference to that info and more. We only wish we could have enjoyed more time on the property to experience the quiet and to have used the provided kayaks on the cove.

Perfect Stay For A Weekend Getaway!

This place exceeded our expectations by far! The beds were comfy, it was super clean and we had everything we needed. There isn’t a stove but we were able to cook over the fire and make s’mores which ended up being way more fun anyways! The host responds quickly and is super helpful and offered several suggestions on what to do and where to eat. This place is so surreal and peaceful and has the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets!! There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area and the 1.5 drive to Acadia NP is easy and beautiful! Id definitely recommend staying here. We will most certainly be back for a long weekend!

Perfect In Every Way!

Beautiful property - secluded back in the woods with a gorgeous view of the cove - sunrise and moonrise, change of tides - perfect in every way! Apartment was very spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic gem in a quiet location

This property was stellar! Aviva was a wonderful host that provided details check-in instructions and the GPS took us straight to the home with no trouble The home was the perfect size for our family, and we were met with all the necessities to make us comfortable The property was clean and very well maintained. The views are unrivaled and absolutely beautiful We hope to return to this peaceful getaway again in the future

Beautiful getaway spot.

The owners have created a lovely and comfortable getaway spot. Every amenity one could ask for has been provided. The sunrises are spectacular. It is a way out there spot but easy to find things to do with just a short drive: Lobster rolls on the dock in Correa, a lovely day ferry ride from Winter Harbor to a visit to Bar Harbor, yummy breakfast and fun and loaded gift shop in town, visits to local artists and potters. And just sitting and enjoying the view and quiet! Barbara

Great vacation rental

We loved our time at this rental - especially taking out the kayaks on the bay and catching the early part of a sun set, having a bonfire, and being cozy inside. Thank you Aviva!!

Phenomenal 360° Water Views!

The Lily Cottage is tucked away in the Maine woods which opens up to breathtaking ocean views and tidal variety. This fresh, modern, IKEA like apartment was the PERFECT get away! Appliances are new and decor is artful, simplistic & gorgeous. We had a lobster bake using the outdoor grill [there is no oven] and the outdoor stringed lights added to ther magical ambiance. Aviva was a great hostess and promptly answered questions. Be advised that the water from the taps is VERY hot... can scald quickly. We appreciated this but had to be wary at times! It was foggy and rained most the time but the books, movie theater, games & foosball table provided ample ways to pass the time!

Beautiful Lily Cove Retreat

We had a couple of beautiful days at Lily Cove. The weather was perfect, toasty fire with gorgeous view, lobster cooked to perfection, evening visits from a resident porcupine and quiet restful nights. Exploring the area we found many lovely coastal hikes. All in all, a wonderful trip to Maine.

Wonderful energy all around!

Really enjoyed our stay! Does not have a/c tho... with all windows open and cool nights, it ended up not being a concern. What a fun, relaxing, and inviting experience. Loved the foosball table, looking/playing through all the records, and most of all... the sunrises! Liked having a washer and dryer along with many amenities needed. Highly recommend and if ever in Maine again we will stay again. Thank you

Relaxing Maine vacation

We loved this cozy and relaxing waterfront home, with everything to enjoy the vacationland spirit of Maine during the day in the surrounding areas of Acadia National Park, Quoddy Head State Park, Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge among many other places at a driving distance to enjoy hiking, biking, sightseeing and picnics before going back to rest and enjoy the evening reading, playing table soccer or watching a movie. We had a great time!

Super cozy, clean and relaxing! We didn't get the best weather during our trip, so we had a relaxing time inside admiring the view, playing games and watching movies. It was exactly what everyone needed! We can't wait to rent again.

It doesn't get much better than being on the water in Downeast, Maine. The variety of wildlife, weather, sunrises, and sunsets is spectacular. Acadia, Bold Coast, and many other beautiful day trips are just nearby.
