The location of the home is absolutely perfect. The house was perfect for us and our kids and we had plenty of room to accommodate us. Only complaint is we went to sweep and had a broom but no dust pan and not enough seating on the decks with one chair being broken. Other than those two things this house is perfect and very clean.
Nice size home for a group of 10 and great location. Seemed to be cleaned well before our arrival.
The house could use some updates such as new outdoor seating - not enough chairs for everyone and some were broken and could not be used. A couple minor issues inside the home we had to address. We called for mtc early in the week and they didnât get back to us until the end of our stay to address. The boardwalk to the beach has some nail heads sticking up so watch out with bare feet.
The other reviews said it was dated, so we knew that coming in. The dining table was sticky and couldnât be rectified with cleaning. A bbq would have bumped it up a star as well as some beach chairs! The place needs a deep clean, like removing buildup from tv console, etc. For the price and our quick trip, it was good. We stayed early May and the beach was very windy. We walked in the morning and stayed on the deck and watched people for the remainder. Lots of jellyfish washed up and also not the place to go fishing.
First time staying at Holden Beach. The house was super spacious and well furnished with all the essentials. Liked being so close to the Folley River inlet.
Iâm leaving this review hoping to help people with their decision. We loved being right on the beach of course but itâs upsetting to pay these prices and expect certain amenities and many things arenât up to par. This house definitely needs some TLC.
Our family loves the location and that thereâs enough room for all of us to have a bit of private space. The view is lovely and the beach is less crowded on this side of the island. We appreciate the elevator and the private beach walkway! We have stayed here before and plan to do so again. That all being said, this home could use a little TLC (especially the a/c, which really struggled to keep up with the heat and humidity - the smoke alarms actually triggered one night at 2:30 am due to excessive humidity despite having the a/c set up 74,) the screen door leading to the sun deck is in need of repair, and the furniture is showing its age a bit.
We totally enjoyed our stay at Seaclusion. The house was comfy, but could use new mattresses! The elevator came in handy for my elderly mother and the view was spectacular. Our week was amazingâuntil someone invited Ophelia! LOL We hope to return again in the future!
Description and photos accurate. House clean, comfortable beds, had everything we needed. Including some things I wasnât expecting. Nice to have dish washer detergent, toiletries and plenty of toilet tissue.
Having elevator was a plus. Actually for us it was a necessity. Would have been helpful to have instructions ahead of time.
Prefer east end of the island and this was 4th house from inlet. Perfect!
Would definitely stay again. (Off season, when rates are within my budgetđ)
First the pros: this house is in a wonderful location, is clean, and had plenty of space for the seven of us. Unfortunately, the upstairs A/C referenced in an earlier review was a problem for us as well, and had trouble keeping up with the 90-degree temps even after a service visit. Main area door to the Sun deck was stuck closed, meaning the only access for the family was to go through the first floor bedroom. Another door up on the second floor deck had apparently been blown open and damaged. Although we had two visits from a lovely maintenance person early in the week for the doors, she was unable to fix the issues herself, then was apparently reassigned to Oak Island and was unable to follow up. The doors remained broken for the rest of our stay despite reaching out repeatedly to Vacasa.
We were so excited about staying in this home. Location is great. The elevator came in handy the first day especially with my son having a broken leg. It got jammed on second day and since ânot a listed amenityâ we were told to use the stairs. The door in living room to outside porch got stuck on us as well. They came to repair the next day and know itâs an on going issue. Also told us about how the AC unit needs replaced upstairs. The lower unit worked so hard to cool entire house we were hot a few days. The cost of this home for a week should cover the needed repairs. The couch did not recline like it should have either. Nails on walkway were sticking up and very dangerous. Loved the covered porch until it rained.
Our main complaint is that for 10 people, the communal space was too small. There is very little counter space in the kitchen which has the only eating area within several feet of it. The table only seats 7. The TV could not be turned toward the sofa so it was difficult to watch. There were only 5 seats on the porch downstairs. The queen and double beds were not very comfortable. The blinds in one upstairs bedroom were broken, the blinds in the downstairs bedroom could not be lowered completely exposing about a foot of the bedroom to the porch. One lamp in the downstairs bedroom was broken and could not be turned on. The fans were filthy and could not be used. The kitchen had only 6 table knives and 5 steak knives and only 1 drinking glass. The serving dishes and few pans were heater smelter in cabinets all over the kitchen. Our family likes to be togetherâ not go to separate rooms so this was not the house for us.
Really loved being on the water and having a private walkway! However if you are coming to Holden for shelling, there were no shells on the beach at the house. It is a great beach for the kids though, it is wide and pretty shallow. It is about 3 miles down to the pier where the shells are in abundance! The beds are comfortable, linens are very clean, and the bedrooms spacious. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves! The living/kitchen space is relatively small compared to the rest of the house. It wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for larger groups. Both decks are large and in warmer weather would provide more gathering space. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return and recommend to others! Vacasa was very responsive to any questions and came out quickly to fix a door handle. We didn't have to be there for this small maintenance issue. They were willing to come in while we were gone with our permission. The handle was fixed by the time we returned. They also checked in with us several times to make sure everything was ok! Good customer service!
Location is great. This house needs much attention. Beds need replaced. Not enough silverware for one day usage. Not enough glasses or coffee mugs for one day usage. Outside hose was broken.
We love this house because of its location on the east end of the island. We gave this review three stars for these basic reasons. The mattresses on the beds were very cheap and uncomfortable. the kitchen was ill-equipped, it only had two dish towels very cheap utensils, and only two knives they were very in adequate for cooking. The bedrooms are spacious and the house is well decorated. It has brand-new furniture in the living room area with two large reclining sofas one of the sofas did not work. The refrigerator leaked into the floor during our entire stay. I did call the office and they sent someone out to repair the problem very promptly but even though he tried the refrigerator continue to leak. We just put a towel down and soaked up the water we didnât want to spend our vacation waiting for someone to come and fix the problem. The dishwasher is also not attached to the counter properly and every time you open it tries to pull out bed space. We will certainly come back to Holden Beach again and we will use Vacasa for our rental we will just choose a different spot.
This was a great house! We stayed there with our children and grandchildren and had a wonderful time. The house was large and well furnished - plenty of room for all of us. VACASA was very easy to work with. We will rent through them again!
