Home was everything as described. Lots of room for our party of 11. Close to multiple golf courses. Host was very nice and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again! (And probably will)
The close proximity to Seven Springs was great. My grandchildren enjoyed all the activities there. We have a large family and there were large common areas for us to visit as a group. The view of the Laurel Highlands was excellent. I would recommend this property for large families or groups.
The house was beautiful and cozy. There were a lot of picture windows with an amazing view of the Pennsylvania mountains. It was easy to communicate with the owners. The house was nice and clean.
This property was very spacious with beautiful views. I enjoyed a weekend with my parents, my children and my grandchildren. I really appreciated that there was already a Christmas tree and we were able to leave ours in the vehicle. There was nothing we âneededâ that we couldnât find in a closet, cupboard or drawer.
The house was amazing. If you could think of any ammenity chances were it was provided. All 8 people agreed the beds were extemely comfortable which guaranteed a well needed nights sleep!! The driveway was a bit of a challenge.
Said it was air conditioned but the truth is there were only 4 indoor air conditioning units that didnât cool down this huge house. The house was hot and musty when we arrived. This was a memorial weekend with our family after we buried our parents and the oven didnât work. The beds were terrible and the house overall was over priced for how old and out dated it was. Would never stay again.
The house is in very bad shape. Really run down and dated. They have a mouse problem. Found two caught in traps under sleeper sofa the first night and then a fresh dead one found at end of our stay caught in glue traps in a different location. Mildew in the broken showers. A hidden room that counted as sleeping space off master had a door entrance 3-4 feet square. People were terrified to even stay there. Let alone the fact that it smelled musty and wet and you couldnât stand up in the space. It was an attic eave space with beds put into it Broken refrigerator handle. Etc. Stuff everywhere that made it hard. We were grateful for the location of the house, but it is unfair that I paid so much money for the house and sent some of my employees there for a relaxing weekend.
This house was perfect for our large gathering of friends and family. The main gathering area was perfect for hanging out, with plenty of seating for everyone. The pool table was a marquee feature, as was the front room full of windows, offering great views of the mountain when the clouds cleared. There are several tables to play games on and some games are provided. The kitchen was large, with counters a-plenty, and it was well stocked. There are TWO refrigerators. We only used one but I can see some people liking having a second. The overall layout is a little wonky, but it does separate the gathering space from the sleeping space for those early to bed. Once we walked through a couple of times, it all made sense. I was surprised to find the hot tub elevated near the main living areas.
Overall, the home and furniture are dated. This did not bother our group, but if you are finicky about these things, this may not be the home for you. We found it to be fun and less stressful than having a bunch of kids in a fancy home. One of my grandsons exclaimed âwhat the heck is that!?!?â when he saw the tube-style TV in his room with a built-in VCR. Lol. There was a âboom-boxâ that took cassettes near the dining room table. Itâs a walk back in time for sure. The home is located close to Seven Springs, which was our goal. The turnoff to the home is actually across from the North Entrance to the ski resort. There is plenty of parking for a large group.
The great views comes at a price.
The driveway takes you by surprise. We may have been concerned if there was a real amount of snow but I will say they had the number to the plow service posted for your use, not that we needed it though. The house is so big we got lost the first few times through. Actually the size of the house made it fun for the kids playing hide and seek lol.
The rooms were all nice and a reasonable size. A couple of the couches could be replaced but still completely useable. The pool table was awesome to have and well used during our stay! There was to be a dart baord that serveral would have used however it was not there. We did call and question it and was told it should be there but we came to the conclusion that a previous renter my have left with it as there was a wreath in its place and the hot tub room had a wreath holder without a wreath. Speaking of the hot tub, it was even put to great use! There's a nice bar with a mini fridge that wasnt working but they do have 2 refrigerators in the kitchen area. We just used a couple coolers at the bar to make it work. The views were amazing from the sunsets to the slopes of seven springs! Your are less then 10 minutes from seven springs and a few local marts. We did have to call about the dart board and a breaker but the call was answered every time no issues. Internet was so, so. We had 12 people and was completely comfortable. It is the house we plan to rent for years to come!
Our family had a wonderful weekend here of playing games, pool tournaments, and football. We loved the cabin vibe at this property. It is very spacious, incredible views, and close to the resort.
The driveway is a little tricky if snow covered. We found that it was probably best not to attempt until it was salted even with 4WD, but the owner quickly had plow truck come and clear for us.
My only complaint would be the mattresses/pillows could be upgraded in some of the rooms.
Several of the mattresses need to be replaced, several of us were sleeping, like tacos, with big valleys in the middle. The fire extinguisher is 1999 it needs to be replaced every six years. There needs to be a professional, insect company or rodent company, the rat poison was left out and our dog ate it. The dog is fine and the back hall to the main level three bedroom smells like cat urine, other than that-it worked out.
So close to so much the Laurel Highlands has to offer. Visit three Frank Lloyd Wright properties, skiing, golfing galore, hiking right out the door and more! Ohiopyle has a full day of activities to offer including whitewater rafting. The fall is spectacular with Mother Nature giving us a beautiful palate of fall foliage. Nemacolin has a wonderful casino which is about a 40 minute drive. The spa at the resort is top notch and perfect after exercising.
