Bougan Blu ( formerly Dowling House) is a charming 3 bedroom , 3 1/2 bathroom beach front cottage nestled on a lush, private half acre property overlooking the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea in the quiet fishing village of Port Maria , St Mary. Located along Jamaica’s North Coast , it is only a 20 minute drive east of Ocho Rios.

Enjoy a tranquil, relaxing escape with the cool Caribbean breeze and the sound of the Caribbean Sea providing a constantly calming backdrop to the breathtaking views of Port Maria Bay ( including Cabarita Island) and the Blue Mountain Range. Relax on the private beach with your favorite drink and let our friendly staff take care of all your needs.

A Perfect Anniversary Retreat

This is a beautiful weel looked after tranquil spot with amazing staff who make you feel like a long lost friend returning home. Miss Donna is an excellent chef who delivers high quality authentic Jamaican food that outshines many a resturant. A perfect couple getaway.

Excellent Villa

One of the most amazing villa experiences ive ever had. The accomodations were pristine. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful and did a great job making my group feel comfortable and as if we were in our own space. BouganBlu is the kind of retreat we all deserve :)

Amazing get-away villa, with all the comforts of home!

We had an amazing stay at this villa (home away from home) Everything was perfect! Clean, well furnished, fully equipped space. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Ms Winsome made us feel so welcomed and Ms Hortense made the best meals for me and my family. The kids could not get enough of the pool and thoroughly enjoyed the amenities! The property is excellently maintained, and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. We celebrated Christmas here and looking forward to staying again and again!!

An Absolute Gem!

I can't say enough about what an amazing find this place was! My girlfriend and I stayed here with another couple and we all loved it. The house itself is pristine and the grounds are extremely well kept. It has everything you could need and the staff members are all professional, friendly, and capable. I have to give a special shout-out to Miss Donna who prepared all the delicious Jamaican dishes we requested in advance as well as a few that we thought of last minute (her mackerel rundown is some of the best I've ever had). The view is difficult to overstate and the pictures really do not do it justice! The seaside is down just a short flight of stairs and is lovely for swimming and wading. I am already dreaming about my next visit to Bougan Blu!

Life made simple

Everything was easy and wonderful! Winnie was the house manager and she was very quick to respond and helpful. Donna was our incredible chef and a definite highlight of our whole experience. She prepared Jamaican and some American food to perfection. We left dinner to her and it was always outstanding even to some picky eaters. My adult kids and baby grandson scored her as well! She was able to answer or get the answer to all our questions including medical attention for a sick baby. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Donna. The security-Nicole and Jason were also outstanding, kind and attentive. The whole stay was tremendous we even asked them to join us for Christmas dinner! We plan to return thanks to them!

Was an absolute pleasure hosting Colleen and family. The staff had a wonderful time taking care of everyone and was appreciative of their communicative, warm and courteous approach. The villa was well maintained at all times. Looking forward to having them return !

It was a wonderful vacation on the cliff

We had a wonderful time at BouganBlu. It is a chamring home with vibrant colours inside and out and with modern amenities. The pictures do not lie. What you see is what you get... namely, breathtaking views and comfortable surroundings, that made our stay so relaxing. The pool was super clean and was cleaned several times during our stay. The bedrooms were large and and the beds and bedding comfy. The showers in the two master bedrooms were huge and great. The walk down to the sea was short and easy. Donna was fantastic. She took great care of us and her cooking was on point. We brought our own groceries and menus and she cooked up everything we asked well. She was super attentive to any special requests we had or special needs required. We always felt safe as there was 24hr security who would say hello but would avoid making their presence impact our vacation. All and all, we had a great time at this villa and we would stay again.

We would return!

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is airy and well-appointed. We lacked for nothing, and on the off chance that we needed anything, the staff members were more than accommodating. The ambience here was very nice, and we loved the views and scenery. We would absolutely consider returning.

Stop looking, you've found paradise!

We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights and it was better than we could have ever expected. If we could we would rate it even higher than 5/5. The view was breathtaking, the grounds were immaculate, every detail was thought through, and no comfort was spared. By day we were dazzled by the delicious food prepared by Donna, who was a delight. By night we were soothed by the ocean sounds, and comforted to know there was round the clock, yet discrete, security. We enjoyed wading in the secluded private beach and pool at all hours of the day, and getting up early to watch the sunrise. The villa itself is well designed with an open concept that any group, friends, family or couples, could enjoy. Overall, we had a fabulous time and we've already shared this with our friends and family so they can enjoy it as well. We can't wait to come back!
