With 4 bedrooms. 4.5 baths and a large living room/kitchen area, this home is perfect for family gatherings. The pool area and outdoor dining table expand your living space options to include being immersed in the tropical Caribbean paradise of this magical location.

Mystic Ridge was designed and built with quality lifestyle and love of beauty in mind. Perched high on a mountain ridge on its own private expanse of land surrounded by the National Park, this luxurious home offers dramatic and spectacular “down island” views of the Drake Channel, the British Virgin Islands, St. John’s East End, Coral Bay and the National Park mountainsides. Enter into the mystic, to the spectacular Mystic Ridge Villa. From the driveway down stone steps you enter through two stately wrought iron gates. Surrounded by the lush tropical forest this private setting is one with nature. The entry courtyard area includes a large round table with barrel bench seating for four and a white wood bench with bright blue pillows. This shaded area is the perfect spot for a game of cards, dominos or whatever suits your need.
The remodeled gourmet kitchen, with bar seating for four, includes all stainless steel appliances and a side by side refrigerator/freezer with filtered water and ice dispensers. An antique dining table with rattan chairs with padded cushions comfortably seats eight. The comfortable sitting area has two large white cushioned chairs with small table and lamp, the perfect location to converse with the chef on duty or relax before or after dinner. Mystic Ridge is 4200 square feet of luxurious living.
The villa includes 4 bedroom 4 1/2 baths, an expansive great room (26’X42′), ideal for entertaining, dining and casual living. The split level great room includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with countertop seating and formal dining area. The large living space includes a complete entertainment center including 60″ TV,with streaming services, DVD player, Tuner/Amplifier with Ipod/Mp3 hookup. Indoor and Outdoor speakers, and wireless DLS complete this electronics package. Nestled high in the trees, bordered by the National Park, this peaceful setting puts you at one with nature. Enjoy spectacular views of Coral Bay, the British Virgin Islands and the unspoiled East End of St. John from the pool or Jacuzzi. The view will take your breath away!!
Lounge on the large bricked deck, swim in the pool (32’X12′) 3 ft shallow 5 ft deep end, or relax in the hot tub, in total privacy. For toddler safety, a nylon mesh barrier may be installed around the pool by advance request. Our newest amenity is a fire pit situated on the edge of the deck. The natural stone wall is the perfect back drop with floor cushions and bar stools that give plenty of seating for all to enjoy this cozy space. This is a wonderful place to stay with family, with incredible views from every room in the house. This was our first time staying on Saint John, and I think the location was perfect, close to both Cruz Bay and Coral Bay, hiking trails, restaurants and the beautiful beaches. The hosts Julie and David are wonderful and made us feel extra welcome with their concierge service. The house is equipped with all the amenities you will need for a big family. Thank you so much Julie and David, you have a lovely home!

Mystic Ridge exceeded our expectations!! The view was absolutely breathtaking… pictures really don’t do it justice! The house was clean and the bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely furnished (make sure you have one person or couple in your group who is okay with climbing spiral stairs, there is one bedroom that is only accessible via steep spiral stairs, which was fine for our family). The pool and hot tub were icing on the cake! The location is unbeatable- you are central to everything on the island, which makes bopping around the whole island very convenient. Would gladly stay here again!

Amazing Stay in St. John

We really enjoyed our stay in St. John and this house was perfect for our group of 8, which included our 2 kids. The views from the property are amazing and like others have said they are even more amazing than the pictures. The home had lots of amenities and the bedrooms were all comfortable. We would definitely stay again next time we visit the island.

Location was perfect on the island. The individual bedrooms and restrooms were a definite bonus and we loved the large kitchen and gathering area. Was a great vacation!!!!

Fabulous villa, view and vacation!

Mystic Ridge is such a beautiful villa in a great location on island. It is beautifully decorated and has all the essentials and then some. The location is great...within 15 mins to almost everything on island. Dave and Julie were very reachable and responsive, too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat...and hope to soon!

Excellent Coral Bay location with beautiful views!

The property is private & beautiful. The view is stunning, especially at sunrise!! The location is convenient to Coral Bay and not far from the North shore beaches. The floor plan was perfect for our family of 8 with 4 separate bedrooms and en-suites. Along with large common areas inside and out. It can’t go without mention…the sheets in all the bedrooms were the best, most comfortable we’ve ever slept in! Dave was very responsive and took time to show us around the house before handing us the keys to the castle: The fridge control panel needs repair(beeping sound) and it would have been great if the pool light was working. Regardless, we really enjoyed our stay, we would recommend this property and would love to return with our family!

Upper Carolina paradise

Gorgeous, well maintained property mid-way between Cruz and Coral Bay. Perfect for our group of eight friends celebrating collective birthdays. Spectacular views out to Coral Bay and the East End. 5-15 min to Maho and North Beaches, about 15-20 min to Cruz Bay. Lovely, well stocked large modern kitchen with a huge great room for the group to hang out as well as a large terrace with dining, hot tub and pool. Beautiful breezes on the mountaintop and great sunrises. We did have two people with mobility issues post op, so be advised that there are steps down to the entrance, to one of the bedrooms and one of the bedrooms (the double) is accessed only by a spiral staircase. We sorted it all out, but just an fyi in case it matters. Dave, the manager, was great and very accessible. We used Sam and Jack’s Deli for catering and had three fantastic meals in-house. Windmill Bar isn’t far and is a must for the view and great live music. We had a perfect stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Can’t wait to return. Thx, Dave!!

Gorgeous View, but lots of bugs

The view was great, and the rooms were updated, but we had some issues with bugs in the house. The common space also had a few things that weren't functioning (light out in the pool, grill not working, stove top not working, some of the screens were torn or falling out, etc.). Other than that, the actual living area and pool were great and perfect for board game nights after long days at the beach. One thing I wish I would have known is how hard it would be to get back and forth from other places on the island and this rental location. We didn't want to rent a car because we were drinking, so we had to resort to taxis, which are a per person charge+tip each ride. Also when we needed some people to come, we were fully dependent on their timing, and almost missed our ferry out on the last day because of this. The view is really great, but the location made it really hard to explore.

hi Raj, Thank you for leaving us a review. I'm sorry you had a difficult time with the taxi drivers, we alsways recommend a car for this location due to its disctance from town. We also set you up with a very good taxt driver and asked that you set up appointments for pick up the day before because they can be very busy at time. Most people that stay at the house love the views and the proximaty to the north shore beaches. Maho bay is less than 10 minutes from the house. We are aware that the ignihtors are broken on the grills and stove, we replace them quite often due to the salt air but we do provide extra lighters for lighting them both. We found 2 lighters in the house when we resonded and brought you more lighters, We are sorry the screens needed some maintenance. We normalyy check them between each guest but we do appreciate you letting us know we need to pay more attention to this matter. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see you next year.... dont forget the rental car!

Both Good and Bad: Great property with a critter problem

The Good: The location, the property itself, furniture was great, outdoor space great, host very responsive and nice. The Bad: Rats and Cockroaches. We've been coming to St. John for 15+ years and have never had this before. Rats in the house. Droppings on the couch, droppings/urine on the kitchen counters, droppings on the bathroom countertop. Host was great to come and put out more traps, but there were still more. Running behind the TV shelves when we were watching a movie. Running in the kitchen when I was loading dishwasher. Islands always have critters, but the cockroaches were excessive. Coming out of the couch when you'd sit down. Climbing around the kitchen cabinets and in the pantry. I'd kill 3-4 an evening around the kitchen. We have never stayed anywhere on the island that had rats, or this many cockroaches. We have had an iguana problem in one place, but nothing like this. One more note in case it matters to someone's needs, the internet is well-below average, even for the island. It's generally much better around Cruz Bay than Coral, but even for Coral this was bad. Yes there are streaming services on the TV, but the movies we streamed suffered from excessive buffering most of the time. My speedcheck app measured it at .8 mbps. Not really useful for anything. In sum, this is a property that has great views, good location, and really good furnishings and layout. But for the amount of $ charged, the rats and cockroaches put a significant damper on the enjoyment of the trip.

Thank you for the review. We are so sorry about your experience at mystic ridge. Unfortunately during the dryer months of the year it is common that the critters begin to come inside to find water and food. As you know we set several traps and did manage to catch a couple of critters and eliminate them from the house. The information about the cockroaches would have been nice to know while you were here so we could have treated for those as well. Neither us or our cleaning crew have seen evidence of the insects. Good new is that the pest control specialists finished their covid quarantine and were able to treat the house yesterday for insects and fill the bait traps for the rats on the perimeter of the house. We are happy that you enjoyed the house and the wonderful pool and views from the outdoor deck. I assure you this was an isolated incident and we reacted to it the very day you alerted us of the issue. We hope to see you again next year. Another thing to consider is none of the previous reviews mention any issue with critters or insects.

Family and friends stayed at this beautiful villa for 11 days. It was everything promised and delivered for a fun filled vacation. I can't say enough good things about it...... the view was gorgeous, the pool and hot tub clean and ready to enjoy, the grill working and propane tank filled and ready to go, the beds comfy and bathrooms well stocked with towels, beach towels, beach chairs clean (no rust) and ready for the beach. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed and more!. The living room comfortable for all guests and a table nearby for card games played every night. I think of all the houses we have ever rented for vacations (and there have been many) this was the best of them all. Location was perfect and close to the North Shore Beaches. Cinnamon Bay was our favorite although many others nearby that we enjoyed. Hosts were readily available and responsive. Simply the best house ever!

Mystic Ridge is a top VRBO property

Mystic Ridge was everything we were hoping for and more. Beautiful home, views were breathtaking and all amenities were top notch. Highly recommend staying here. We will stay here again when we return to St John. The property manager was very attentive and responsive. Awesome experience!!

College Graduation Trip

The property was immaculate and the view was the best on the island! The breeze at night was cool and didn’t even need the room AC. Very private and quiet. Lots of amenities not even listed. Highly recommend this property that will comfortably sleep 8 adults. Dave was prompt and gave great orientation to the property. Also highly recommend VI jeep rentals. Long Boards was our favorite place to eat. No reservations so go early. Maho Bay and Trunk Bay were our favorite beaches. Go see the sunset at Windmill!

Unbeatable Views - Great for Groups of Friends

This is an excellent property for up to four couples traveling together as it has an unusual design of a central living/kitchen area for gathering but separate bedroom suites grouped around the central area and pool courtyard, thereby maximizing privacy for each couple. The views over the islands to the east are fantastic - get up early to watch the Caribbean sunrise. A rental car is essential as the property is about 5 minutes drive from Coral Bay and about 15 minutes from Cruz Bay. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to rent again if we return to St John. Only reason for four stars and not five was some electrical items were not working properly during our stay (hot tub controls, oven setting controls, outlets in master bathroom) - not huge problems, but reduced the perfection of the stay. Highly recommend the property!

Magnificent villa with a spectacular view!

I could have stood on the patio and looked at the view the entire time we were there. Probably the most beautiful view I have ever seen in my life. But then I would have missed out on the magnificent house. The four bedrooms were amazingly appointed. Beautiful beachy furnishings with wonderful windows and doors. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were well stocked. The kitchen was a dream with everything you could possibly need. The great room was beyond great! A huge comfortable couch and lots of chairs. You could get lost in that room. They had a karaoke machine which we took advantage of… They had hundreds of movies for the Apple TV. We did not watch any, but that was because we ran out of time! The doors in the great room were fantastic. You could open them with or without the screens. And the view will leave you awestruck. The location of the house is about mid island, basically halfway between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. Perfect for any direction you want to go. The swimming pool and hot tub were just icing on the cake. I cannot say enough good things about this house, view, and surroundings. And Dave was fantastic to work with also. If you rent this house it would be impossible to be disappointed.

Absolutely Awesome

Views are stunning!! Everyone in our group had a wonderful time. St John is my favorite Island. The locals are beyond friendly, truly refreshing. The house had everything you need. Thank you David for everything!!

Spacious, spread out, and secluded!

This home beat all of our expectations from start to finish. David greeted us at the ferry and led us to the property to show us around. We were immediately blown away by the views walking right into the gate. Each room was spacious, had an en suite bath and gorgeous views. The main living area had plenty of comfortable seating. The kitchen was stocked with more than we could have ever hoped for. David responded quickly with any questions, recommendations, or tips. He was super easy to communicate with and very helpful throughout our stay. The property is super secluded and very private. I will say, be prepared if you are a newcomer to the Virgin Islands, the small area of Coral Bay doesn’t have much as far as food or shops. There are a couple of restaurants (open Tuesday - Saturday only) and a couple of small grocery stores. We were fine with it because we didn’t want to leave our private little piece of paradise. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for an authentic St. John vacation home.

Vacation with friends

Overall the property was very nice. There were a few things that did not work that we felt should have been fixed. The stereo speakers, the TV in living room and the sun shade umbrellas by the pool. We really were looking forward to hanging by the pool during the day but without any shade it was too hot. The pictures of the house showed Mystic Ridge robes layered out on the bed, but there were none to be found. And we ran out of dishwashing soap before the end of the trip.

Hi Linda, Thank you for the review. I'm sorry we had a couple of things not quite perfect for your stay. We are waiting on a new stereo for the speakers by the pool but we do provide a blue tooth JBL speaker for guests to use in the meantime. Our maintenance team did respond to the villa to check on the TV and found it to be operational when he arrived. Not everyone is familiar with the Apple TV but there are directions for use in the villa binder on the coffee table. We are in the process of getting some new umbrellas but as you know covid has made getting even some of the basic supplies very difficult. In the mean time we hope that guests will seek shade under covered lounge area and dining area just 12 feet from the pools edge. We hope you had a great vacation and hope to see you again next year!

Paradise within Paradise

We had an amazing week! Each couple had their own private retreat to escape to, and the common areas were perfect for entertaining. We were centrally located to Coral Bay, Cruz Bay, and Maho/Trunk Bays. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Family getaway

We had a great stay at Mystic Ridge. Loved the close proximity to Maho, Trunk, and Cinnamon Bays. The house was beautiful and has a nice open floor plan for family meals and hanging out by the pool. And the view is SPECTACULAR.
