I am a bilingual (English and French) retired sociologist who enjoys travelling, meeting people and spending quality time with Family. We love quality and fine living so the house we are offering for rental is a beautifully and uniquely designed Villa in a secure gated community, with a mixture of modern and African style furnishing. We are flexible so you will not have rigid or strict rules, your life will be easy and enjoyable at our family holiday villa in Diani, a seven minute walk from the Indian Ocean, a beach that has been rated the best, cleanest and least crowded beach in Africa for the three years in a row (2015, 2016 and 2017). This is your dream holiday home if you like the privacy of a paradise away from home while enjoying easy access to the beach. Seven minutes is a short walk from Jasmine to the lovely Diani Beach. The local people are honest and friendly. Transport is plenty with 3-legged tuk-tuks (auto rickshaws) readily available and flexible to take you shopping, sight-seeing, to nearby restaurants and hotels and to any other part of Diani you might want to discover. And when you don't feel like going out, our Concierge/caretaker services within the compound can offer shopping and cooking help at a reasonable fee. We have furnished this villa tastefully, with sofa seats as well as swing chairs that are suitable for children and adults alike. The pagoda (or verandah) just outside the villa has proved a very popular relaxation part of this vacation home, with guests leisurely sipping their wine while enjoying the cool breeze till as late as 2.00am. There's a German Shepherd dog that accompanies the two night guards on their patrol rounds around the entire compound of 8 villas. You will have this serene and secure feeling here. In the kitchen there is a variety of crockery, cutlery, mugs, glasses (including wine glasses), hot tea flasks, microwaveable serving dishes and enough saucepans and frying pans to cater for any heavy cooking that guests may have. The large two-door fridge is super efficient, your drinks will cool in a very short time. The four-burner gas cooker, complete with a gas oven, will serve any cooking purpose. The microwave oven provides that quick warming of any foods and, for those who like crunchy sandwiches, the local supermarkets offer plenty of ham, cheese, lettuce and seasonings to bring home and make use of the sandwich toaster. If you're a large group this villa has ample space, we can house as many as 17 guests here because we have now provided extra mattresses for use in what we're calling the 4th bedroom. This is an open space on the 3rd level.

The showers in the villa have wide sprinklers that give you the illusion of rain falling over your head. This is cool because the coast can be very hot, depending on the time of the year you're there. You can find yourself taking a shower even three times a day. The two bedrooms on the first floor both have balconies from which guests can enjoy the general view of the rest of the compound or the external surroundings behind the villa. The neighbourhood consists mostly of different homes owned by non-local residents who purchased land from indigenous land owners. You will meet tourists from all over the world living either in these homes or in the many nearby beach hotels. You will also meet the indigenous residents, some of who will engage you in marketing locally made art and crafts, shoes, fabric, sea shells and other local items. You can enjoy entertainment food and drinks in local fun clubs for both adults and children. Organized boat rides to fun islands nearby are available. Sports activities like skiing, parachuting, snorkeling and many more are offered by private service providers as are trips to Mombasa Island, Fort Jesus and other touristic sites. These would not be part of the package but can be arranged on demand.

Getting by using public transport is relaxed and inexpensive. Traffic jams are rare since the population around Diani is not dense.
