Cute space, not very practical. The house is near a swamp that is full of frogs and VERY LOUD crickets. There are no glass windows and wood shutters do not block the noise. Beautiful place if sleeping is not important during your stay. They charged me over 3000 pesos (over 50 USD for electricity for a 3-night stay. There are lots of water bugs (roaches). It is a charming place but not fit for the location itâs in.
At first, I was concerned due to slow communication with Nadia (the host), but she became very responsive within a couple of weeks of the stay date and everything went smoothly. I made a lot of demands before coming to insure the place was suitable and Nadia came through. The location and layout of the house were perfect. We did run out of water once due to a small cistern, but it was addressed within 24 hours. This was likely an oversight. The stay was great and I would book again.PROS: Great location, comfortable beds, clean, excellent pool, great staff, peaceful yet close to the beach, town, and restaurants.CONS: A guest manual would be helpful. Garden maintenance could be improved. OTHER INFO: King beds are in the adjacent poolside house, and queen beds are in the main house, contrary to what the listing shows. We used fans and A/C in two bedrooms or outside at night and lights when needed and our bill was 10,000 POD for electricity for the 3 weeks. The villa is surrounded by forest, so be prepared for noise from frogs, crickets, and birds and bring ear plugs. Mosquitos and noseeums are present, so bring repellant for yourself and spray the outdoor furniture cushions.
