3 bedroom house on a farm , situated on the Beara Way walking trail.
The house is in the beautiful valley of Dromoughty ,10 minutes drive from Kenmare town. Can accommodate up to 8 people, two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Very suitable for children as it is on a small family farm on a quiet road. Perfect for country walks. 2.5 miles to Star Outdoors Adventure Centre. 2 miles to local pub which serves excellent food. Situated on the Beara Way with lots of marked walking trails.
Beautiful property with a very kind host! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The road leading up to the house is a little scary if youâre not used to two lane roads that are the size of one lane but you get used to it pretty quickly! My family (five people) stayed here very comfortably. I cannot recommend this place more! We hope to stay here again in the future!!
The cottage is just breathtaking! Itâs located in very quiet surroundings and brilliant for relaxing. The owner is really friendly and very helpful!
Lovely Interieur and beautiful nature around.
We had a real good time in this cosy old farmhouse. Martina takes care of everything you need and she is a wonderful host. Thank you! We would highley recommend this house.
My family and I loved this property and the host. The house is located on a working family sheep farm, overlooking a beautiful lake in the valley below. It is quiet and you wake each morning to the sounds of sheep in the fields. The host, Martina is a wonderful person. Always up for a friendly chat. We spoke at length about many topics and she is an excellent source of information about the surrounding area. That area, is absolutely beautiful. Kenmare and the surrounding areas are what we considered "real" Ireland. Small towns with friendly people, without the touristy feel and tour buses full of people. The Beara road is a great drive. The house is charming, with two levels. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms, a full kitchen, and washer/dryer. It's adorably decorated a and felt as if I was staying at my grandmother's house. Just cozy as could be. Everything worked well and Martina was just a stones throw away should we ever need anything. My family and I can't say enough good things about the property or host, but if you want a comfortable place, with a beautiful view, in a quiet place in the "real" Ireland, you can't do better than Martina's house. We will forever be grateful to her for allowing us to enjoy her home, sheep, dogs, and a small look into her life.
Beautiful house, which felt like our own home while we explored the nearby area. There is so much to do here that we didnât even tap into the typical tourist attractions. Highly recommended!
Martina (the owner) is the best! Mom and Dad, Gramma and three teenagers had a legarndary vacation.
The house was away from the town which didnât cause us any problems. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery so we didnât have to wash up all the time. Very peaceful with the sound of sheep to wake up to.
Martina the owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome and answered questions promptly. Thank you.
Magical, Breathtaking House & Location. Wonderful & Gracious Host!
My 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and I just returned from the most incredible wonderful magical family vacation at this house and sheep farm. Not only is the house absolutely lovely but the surrounding location is breathtaking! The host is a most gracious & amazing lady and a most helpful and supportive host. We were all so sad to leave! I am already making plans to return next year! Sara Henderson, The Hudson Valley, New York
This has been one of the best holiday homes we ever stayed. Embedded in a wonderful countryside the spacious cottage was just at the right spot to explore the south west. On the other hand it is remote enough to enjoy the sound of nature and no other man-made noise. The cottage is fully equipped with every detail you will ever need - from egg pricker to a variety of different shower gels. Last and most important an open-hearded and caring host. Thank you Martina! You represented the Irish hospitality in the best possible way.
Der Aufenthalt war einfach super. Das Haus ist toll, die Lage etwas abseits. Genau was wir gesucht haben. Die Aussicht ist grandios. Einrichtung sehr liebevoll, Ausstattung super. Der Kontakt mit Martina war ebenfalls unproblematisch.
This was a wonderful place to stay. It was far enough from the closest town to be quiet and peaceful and close enough to easily pick up groceries and such. The host was exceptionally warm and helpful, going so far as to help us with an issue we were having that was completely unrelated to the house. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The house had some basics like body wash etc. There were a few kids books, and the kids had a great time playing on the front lawn and going out to see the sheep. There was a washer and a dryer, which was especially appreciated. About the beds: I've noticed that there seem to be differences between how the US describes the sizes of beds and the way Ireland describes the sizes of beds (including in the hotels). All 4 of the beds were what we (from the US) would call Queen size. That worked great for us, but that might be helpful information for others.
We are so happy we chose this house!
The property was excellent in a nice rural setting. Would highly recommend a stay here.
However communication with VRBO prior to me travelling was inaccurate. I was told there was no towels or washing machine at the property- which there was!
