Close to everything. Actually enjoyed the music from next door. Had everything to cook with. Pool was nice. Rooms were clean. Had all the amenities we needed. Thank you for everything!
Lovely place, exactly as advertised. Good communication with the manager. Would definitely stay here again. There is a restaurant right next door and a dive shop next to that which makes it convenient to grab a bite or pick up tanks.
This property was a wonderful home base for my first return to Bonaire since 2018. The location is excellent, particularly if you enjoy diving the Southern sites. Communication with the owner and property manager was excellent. If it is available, I will certainly stay in this unit again. 10/10!
We had a wonderful time. Very convenient to the Oasis for the Sunday âFish and meat marketâ which was great for the fish lovers in our group. The owner's were awesome. Responded immediately when we had questions. Did not realize the place did not have a TV but we were there to dive. The pool was awesome. Great after diving to chill and then sit on the deck. Only wish was a table outside so we could eat outside or sit as a group (there were three of us). But we made do. Overall great place. Others said noise from Oasis was an issue. It was really just one night that music was past 10pm (which was Friday night). I e loved it and would recommend it to others
Very good location, close to tons of dive sites, could not hear the airplanes. Good accommodations for dive gear, cleaning and hanging overnight. Great deck and pool with an excellent view.
My husband and I had a great experience. We loved the location of the house, the outdoor area, and that you are just steps from the ocean. You donât have to go far to see wonderful fish while snorkeling. Nicole and Martin were very responsive to any questions that we had.
This was my second stay, and I would gladly stay again. Everyone was very responsive land helpful. The house is in a great location, although the restaurant next door does get loud on Fridays, but thatâs to be expected. I just love it here.
This was our second time staying at this location. The house is a duplex with a shared pool. Great location, we loved diving and snorkeling right off the back of the house. We stayed with our two friends and loved having the restaurant next door to grab dinner. Plenty of towels and a washer to do laundry. There is a spot to hang dive gear. We will definitely book again.
We were very pleased with our two weeks stay at the Pepper House. We were specifically looking for a place south of town (we dive more in the south) and this house was perfect for that. I LOVED the ice maker in the fridge! Both bedrooms are very spacious, plenty of storage, towels and hot water. Communication with Nicole was easy and timely. Another positive is that theyâre next door to Ocean Oasis, which we ate at twice. Very convent and great food. A negative is that theyâre next door to Ocean Oasis, due to the noise on two nights. Ocean Oasis is a popular place on Friday night and the music is very loud, but on both Fridays, they stopped around 11:00pm, which is usually when we head to bead, so not too terrible. One night during the week at 1:30 in the morning one of the workers revved a motorcycle very loud for over 30 minutes and woke everyone up. Very unnecessary. That can easily be fixed by having a conversation with Ocean Oasis management, so this will not stop me from using the Pepper House again.Overall, we very pleased with our stay.
Martin and Nicole were wonderful hosts. They took great care of us, from booking and our departure. We stayed 2 weeks. The duplex, the North unit is nicely furnished and has a great layout. It was a great place to relax, hangout in the pool and watch the sunsets. Other people complained about the noise from the Beach club next door, but we didnât have issues with noise. This unit is a great place to stay. For divers, they have a great outdoor wash tub, outdoor shower, a great exterior enclosed storage room, where we could hang our dive equipment safely to dry. It was great not having to have it in the house. We highly recommend staying at this unit.
If I liked it much betterâI would have to buy it.
Itâs a dilemma. Do I give it the review it earned or the one that will help me book it with less competition? SooooâŠ.
Waking to the sounds of waves. Walking into the water at THE best location to see it all. Priceless conversations in the âpitâ. Next to a classy fun beach resort with a great massage hutâŠ.hmmm.
We will be backâSOON.
We stayed in the peper side of this lodge. It was the perfect location for our perfect vacation. There is always a nice breeze. The view is so beautiful. The beach club next door was great! There wasn't much noise and all the amenities of the restaurant, dive shop and massage are walking distance.
The lodge is perfectly equipped. We did not have a single item to buy. We had a juicer for oranges, all the plates, glasses and dishes we needed. Martin and Nicole even had a few beers and some delicious bread for us when we arrived. The pool is so nice, we pretty much lived in it.
Speaking of Martin and Nicole, they are fantastic hosts. When I could not figure out the coffee maker the first morning, Martin quickly arrived to address the issue. Turns out it was operator error. Anytime we called or messaged, they responded promptly. Just lovely people.
We enjoyed our stay so much that it was hard to leave. I highly recommend the salt and peper (Dutch spelling) lodge and I will be back.
This was our 4th stay at the Salt and Pepper. It is located in a fantastic location. The Oasis restaurant and bar is located directly next door. There is music playing constantly which we did not mind but could be an issue if you are looking for a quiet place. Diving and snorkeling is great right off the shore at the house, like most locations on Bonaire you will need booties to enter the ocean. This location has issues with its septic system and last time and this time the septic became full and limited drainage and produced a very strong odor we had to deal with for the last two days of our stay. Hopefully they will fix this as itâs a shame to have it happen both times. We booked again thinking the first time was a fluke. We cannot say enough about the friendly property manager Martin. He was very helpful and responsive. If you are a diver you can get tanks two doors down at the CrossFit entrance, very convenient. There is a nicely appointed kitchen and making meals is very easy. Both bedrooms are en-suite and have a/c. The WiFi is very reliable. The deck provides plenty of places to hang out. The house is well appointed with some nice things like an umbrella, extra large beach towels and several different coffee makers.
The property is spacious and breezy. Snorkelling and dives are lovely right from the property. We mistakenly did not notice that property is a duplex with the pool being shared fyi. The restaurant next door has great food and the fish/meat market on Sunday is a must. Communication was quick and easy with the host as well. Quick drive to many great dive sites and groceries etc. thanks again!Jeff
What a beautiful property and view! We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
The house was a great size, very clean and full of amenities -- such as lots of towels, kitchen filled with most anything you may need, and great seating out on the deck.
Loved the 2 large bedrooms and large bathrooms - more than enough space for 4 people (although it was just my husband and I on this trip). The air conditioning in the bedrooms was great and helpful to escape from the heat. There is no air conditioning in the main space (kitchen, living room), but you have the wide-open accordion doors, which allows the fresh air and ocean sounds to come through all day.
You are just steps away from the ocean with direct access to fantastic snorkeling or diving right off the property. Rustic walk to the water - don't expect sandy beach, but this is normal around the island. Bring good water shoes or boots. There are a few sandy beaches just minutes up the road.
Fairly quiet. There's a great restaurant and cabana rentals next to us, but the noise was minimal.
Very safe island! We locked the screen doors when sleeping or when we left the house, but never felt unsafe.
Definitely recommend renting a vehicle - truck preferably. Roads are a bit rough and narrow sometimes. Parking lots and entrance was a bit rustic and bumpy.
Thanks for the wonderful stay!
This was the 5th trip to Bonaire for my wife and I. We knew the location of Pepper. We hoped it would be perfect and it was! Property Managers Nicole and Martin were in communication before our arrival. Nicole met us at the house. Welcome treats! Showed us everything. The house was spotless. Well appointed and tastefully decorated. Exactly like the pictures. No creative camera work or unwanted surprises. Pool and âgrottoâ as my wife and I affectionally referred to the sunken outside seating area was divine. Nicole answered random questions during our 3 week stay such as best place to get a chocolate mousse cake! Insider tip, Sweeti Bakery Bonaire! We miss the ocean, the breeze and the warm Caribbean nights. Cheers until next time!
Great Location for a short stay. Centrally located between town and great diving. The house has everything you need. Our only issues were it was noisy being next to ocean oasis, the house does not close up well so the mosquitoes were bad while we slept and the swimming pool was not properly maintained.
We rented both halves of this villa but did not really use this side as some of our family was not able to travel. Overall itâs a nice house with great water views of the sunset. Club next door can be a bit distracting but we liked the house, the amenities and proximity to the dive shop.
We had a great time at this unit, the view is amazing with amazing sunsets. The sea is just a few feet in front of the porch and the pool is very nice to relax after a day of diving. The unit was immaculate and well decorated and the property manager was very responsive and helpful. I certainly recommend this place.
- oceanfront with oceanfront pool - free internet - close to all the famous dive sites in the South - 5 minutes from Atlantis beach for kite surfing - 10 minutes drive from Jibe City, great for windsurfing - dive shop next door at Flamingo Premiun Diving - parking at the premises - rinse tank and outdoor shower
