Was waiting for entry cod for one hour. Since 4 PM till 5 PMThan when we were in the house Power went off for two hour. Few days later Costruction start. Nailing Gun was shooting an till 6 PM.
Stayed here for a quick getaway for our anniversary, the house was nice inside-however outside it had been hit by a tree and the steps leading to the house were damaged pretty bad-as was the corner of the house. Didn't impact the inside that we could tell, but a little disappointed with that. Otherwise, all good-drive very steep but we navigated it in daylight just fine-wouldn't want to a night or in bad weather.
Easy to open the gate with the directions provided, easy to unlock the home with the directions provided and loved the high ceilings, quiet area, and beautiful leaves falling.
I loved the quiet and the relaxation of the cabin and of the town. I would have loved it a lot more if it wasn't so high up đ. Let's just say I did some major praying get up to the cabin but loved everything about it once I was there. So if you are comfortable with that type of drive, I highly recommend. The cabin was fully equipped with EVERYTHING you needed for your stay.
The home was very nice, besides the spider webs in most of the corners of the home. Off the beat path but close enough to everything you would need. Was nice that the road was paved and didnât have to worry about gravel roads. Would be cautious booking this house if the winter time due to steep narrow roads leading up to the house and ice would be a big issue.
Nice place - kitchen and bath well stocked. Furnace worked very well for a cold weekend! As pictured, but I must say very sparsely decorated. Honestly, a few bedside lamps in the downstairs bedroom would be much appreciated, as would an area rug and bath rug on the cold tile floor. And a few more lamps upstairs. Hard to read in the evening with just the overhead light.
Great neighborhood and proximity to Downtown Ellijay. However, Gigantic spiders in the lower bedroom and bathroom. No hot water to the lower bathroom. And the den area wasnât comfortable. Has potential, just needs a little attention.
Our cabin was located on Walnut Mountain. It was clean and comfortable. The beds were very nice. We had problems with the gate transponder not being available to us for the first day which meant we had to give up a good portion of our day devoted to getting that resolved which wasnât until the next day. Thanks to the guard house attendant Chris for helping us. The refrigerator did not make any ice so that was a pain and the lower bedroom smelled musty. Easy fixes to resolve for next time I am sure.
Pros - So the cabin is fine. It's had some new renovations recently. It is smaller as advertised no hot tub or grill. New baths. Decent beds. Cons - Each window has years of cobwebs built up in between the screens and the window. Like massive amounts. On the Deck the outside of it is covered in massive amounts of cobwebs. The outside of this home has not been cleaned in years. There are rotten boards/siding on the front side and back falling off. - needs some outdoor attention bad.
Water Pressure was basically a Trickle in the Main Bathroom
Though I was provided with an entry code, I was flagged down to check-in with the community association, a requirement that was not previously communicated to me. The person I presume was an association employee took the opportunity to lecture me extensively on the community rules and then proceeded to write down my name, my license plate number and the address of the VRBO.
After checking in, I received an automated text inquiring about the quality of my check-in experience. I replied with a photo and a note, pointing out that the pillows in the main floor bedroom were discovered on the floor next to the bed. I was met with a boilerplate response, thanking me for my feedback but offering no clarification or resolution about the pillow situation. As a result, I was left questioning whether the pillowcases were clean or not, especially since no alternative pillowcases were available.
In the lower-level bedroom, the ceiling fan was noticeably dated, to the extent that the blades were visibly drooping.
The water pressure in the master bathroom was disappointingly inadequate. Both the sink and the shower offered little more than a feeble stream, which impacted the overall experience.
The cabin delivered on most of the promises made in the listing. However, if water pressure is important to you, I would recommend staying somewhere else.
The cabin was in a community. The other cabins were within easy viewing distance. We were hoping for something a bit more isolated. The cabin was clean, but outdated. No TVs in either of the rooms. The water pressure was horrible.. you couldn't run both showers at the same time. You couldn't wash clothes and dishes at the same time. Not sure what was going on here, but it needs to be addressed. Location was convenient to town, dining, and restaurants. We would probably go to Blue Ridge or Hiawassee in the future though.
It was a super quiet property. The upstairs was perfect! Modern cabin and super clean and smelled fresh.
The downstairs had a bit of a funny smell, musty or something, but itâs a cabin in the woods so itâs to be expected. Itâs miles better than the last cabin we rented where the smell was over bearing and permeated throughout the house.
The kids ages 9 and 10 had a blast swinging on vines climbing up and down the hill and rolling a truck down the hill. It really was the perfect weekend.
One other thing, although the cabin was super clean, there were a couple spiders in one of the bathrooms when we got there. So if your kids arenât used to that. You might want to send an adult in to clear them out. Once they were safely outside, we didnât have any other unexpected guests.
The cabin is within 15 minutes of some delicious BBQ and other civilization (Walmart, Etc.).
Thanks again. We really had a terrific stay!
