Absolutely loved this gem of a place. It looks like a dollhouse. It is perfect for a couple. The location is ideal for Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau Peninsula, Manistee, beach, etc. We are already looking for dates for a return visit.
Terrific northern location close to many beautiful Michigan hiking trails and scenic lookouts. Sweet little cabin tucked next to a babbling brook that is quite enchanting.
Perfect spot for getting away from the city. Great accommodations and lovely locals. Bring your own bathroom towels as they shed a lot and beware of the rodent problem.
This location was perfect for our annual sister weekend trip. The loft bed was one of the most comfortable beds Iâve ever slept in! The deck out back was AMAZING! The bubbling brook, the wildlife, barely any traffic on the roadâŠit was quiet and quaint and had everything we neededâŠif we ever venture to Arcadia again I would choose this place to stay.
The location is wonderful. Quiet and secluded, but close enough to local sights.
We have stayed here multiple times and enjoyed the clean and cozy cottage. This year, however, cleanliness seemed to have slipped a little and the trash can outside was overfilled, which caused problems with raccoons at night. I am hopeful that these issues will be addressed and future stays will be back up to their previous 5 star quality.
This is a lovely place. I could easily have stayed another week or two. Five minutes from the Bluffs course and only 10 from the south. The Bed was comfortable, the water hot and the surroundings peaceful. Slept with the Window open to hear the sound of the babbling brook out back. Whoever I am in the area, this will be my go to rental.
Truly enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and updated. When we were staying here, the weather was cool and foggy, so we weren't able to do much in surrounding areas outside. We had no choice but to stay at the house,by the fire, playing games and reading on the back porch with the relaxing sounds of nature and the stream. You will have to travel about 20 minutes to get to any downtown shopping, but the drives are beautiful.
Nice location and pretty house.
The house has a problem! There are animals in the wall and attic. Most likely mice or squirrels but makeâs it hard to sleep at night and also why am I being asked to wash the bedding am I not the guest?? Per the instructions sheet on the fridge.

Left a day early to get out of there.
My husband and I celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary this past weekend and this location was perfect to kick back and relax with no interruptions! The cabin was very close in proximity to the beach which was nice. The cabin is perfect size for two but could definitely use some updates đ Interior lighting fixtures, furniture and decor is a bit dated, but did not hinder our stay.
Our few complaints: the water in the shower was either scalding with pressure or warm with a trickle and the lower half of the shower curtain was covered in mold. We struggled a lot with allergies, so thinking that a dehumidifier may be necessary?!?
The fireplace did not work even after requesting instructions, so that was a bummer. Thinking it would have been cool to have some sort of outdoor fire pit to enjoy!
All in all, we had a nice time-
This cottage was a perfect size for my husband, 3 year old, and myself. The atmosphere of the location could not have been more relaxing. It was enjoyable to sit on the deck and listen to the babbling brook and our daughter loved the bridge. The neighbors (down the road) were very friendly when they helped us remove a tree that had fallen on the road one morning. The Arcadia area was somewhat remote, but close enough to get to everywhere we wanted to visit, including the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore. We did enjoy the little beach right in Arcadia, too. The only parts we were dissatisfied with were the amount of mouse traps/poison just sitting around on the floors (not great with a toddler around), the odor of the well water, lack of cell service (AT&T), and the lack of a vacuum. If you are used to being at a cottage/camp or in the woods these arenât deal breakers. We also couldnât figure out the lock box in the back, but Iâm sure it was just our user error. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again.
The place was nice but since yhe last time we were there you have changed the mattress. The new mattress is too hard to sleep on and we almost left after yhe first night because it was so uncomfortable. We tried sleeping on the pull out couch mattress the second night and whole that was better compared to the upstairs mattress, it was still a second night of bad sleep. I would say the mattress situaiton needs to be fixed because if it was it would receive high reviews. I'd say the cleanliness was so so. There were a lot of little black flies everywhere inside the house. When we arrived there was garbage strewn about outside along the creek. That was incovienent and gross so we picked it up.
As far as being able to use the grill, that is so rusted I'm not sure it's even safe to use. So this was our second stay here and we love the location and the place but we're left leaving very tired and not as rested as we wanted from a get away weekend. Immediate areas of attention, new upstairs mattress that's not so firm, new grill grates, make sure garbage is picked up outside.
