Great accommodation set in lovely lowland countryside. Handy for various tourist spots, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Falkirk. Linlithgow Town centre and Train station 6 miniutes away.Jim the host has provided a great holiday home. There are 3 chalets in a quiet rural area. We are happy to recommend. Car essential.
This was a wonderful cottage and a beautiful setting. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was delightful and very helpful. It should be noted that there is no dryer or hot tub. But there was a rack to dry clothes on and they dried quickly. Also, you need to take your own bath soap. It was very up-to-date and the view from your window was gorgeous. Lambs scampering about and a beautiful view of the valley. We were extremely happy with our location.
Spotlessly clean, well equipped and great location. Ideal base for visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow. Linlithgow Palace is definitely worth visiting. Perfect holiday home - we didnât want to leave.
We arrived a bit early & it wasnt any problem for Jim, who met us, in the rain. Inside after a little tour & info on the workings of the gas stove, lights, door keys etc, we unloaded & just relaxed. Looking out at the sheeo pastures & the 360 views itvwas amazing.! The drive up the hill was a bit scary, but after a few trios up/ down we adjusted. House was lovely. Everything clean & neat. Im sad we didn't have time to put the living room back together, as we needed to be to the airport so early. Left them a bottle of wine to say thank you & forgot to leave a note of thanks. So " Thamk you"!!!
The accommodation is clean, quiet and has all you need. Everything worked, the hosts were great. They checked we were OK and then left us to ourselves.
It's a great area to explore as well.
We can definitely recommend a stay here.

The cottage was central for everywhere we wanted to go and was near to the train station for easy access into Edinburgh.
Having 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms is very unusual and it made life so much easier for everyone.
Amazing cottage. Communication with hosts where excellent. Even round up the sheep herd was inclusive :-). We had a wonderful time in the cottage and just loved the view of the fields surrounding. We found everything we needed in the cottage as well. Thanks again for a really nice vacation.
The Carriber cottages were very smart, tidy, and well worth the money,we had a fantastic 10 days stay there, and the hosts Jim and Jacki were very dlightful and very helpful,we will definately be going back.
Lovely property, really helpful hosts. Ideally situated for Edinburgh and some good shopping in Livingston as well. The boys tried their hand a fishing but it was a wee bit cold for the fish.
Super dog friendly as well :)
Jim and Jacqui were lovely hosts, we had a lovely weekend. Hot tub was a treat too, lovely views around and lovely local walks, our Labrador has a good time exploring the woods. Well recommended
It was a great stay but sadly we left earlier due to family complications.
The hot tub was also shared which was clear during booking. Although this was a great place to rent for families.
5 of us stayed here Monday to Thursday, we were all very impressed with the cottage, and the views around it were spectacular. There was everything you could need for a stay here.
The fishing lake, just a few yards from the cottage was beautiful, even if you don't fish, was lovely to walk around. The town of Linlithgow was just a couple of miles away, with an historical palace to visit, good rail links to Edinburgh and Glasgow and good restaurants and shops.
I would highly recommend these cottages, they are a great find. Enjoy!!
Carriber Cottages is absolutely fantastic. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, large kitchen/living room, beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful landlords who live on the property...even fresh eggs from the resident chickens! Short drive to Linlithgow and rail connecting to Edinburgh, Glasgow & beyond.
Clean, comfy and lots of living space. Super kitchen and bathroom facilities and proximity to places of interest. The biggest attraction was the view from all aspects...so peaceful...and the walk around the fishing lake-fabulous!
Our dog loved it too and she's fussy!
We could have stayed forever!
