April 2023
We stayed for 5 nights. Great location and so peaceful. I would stay there again if I were to come back to the UK

Although the host resides in tha U.S. he was very helpful via telephone. His caretaker bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful. A visit to Blarney Castle, the Jameson Whiskey Distillery and the Waterford Crystal Factory were the highlights of our stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Hosts were incredibly hospitable and helpful everystep of the way, the place clean and easy to find as well! I had a wonderful time and Roland helped my trip be that much more worth it!! They even included recommended places to shop and eat (which all the restaurants I tried that they recommended were awesome!!) The cottage itself is absolutely precious, and has a gorgeous view, as well as being a short walk to a dock nearby that was perfect for some sunset pictures over the water. Would definitely love to come back!!!
Owner was in contact straight with a very extensive information package running to several pages. He also contacted us by TELEPHONE directly from the USA! The booklet emphasised the wooden floors (several times) as also he did (several times) which was a tad OTT (or maybe just tor us standoffish Brits). The irish contact however was really helpful and left the key in an agreed place for us.
When we arrived, we were not quite sure which cottage was ours so a sign might be useful.
Upon arrival (we took care with the wooden floors and were) welcomed with bread/milk and teabags. Plenty of storage albeit a bit of lack of "wardrobe" space as it was taken up with heating unit and tumble dryer - did have a large chest of drawers in the other bedroom but this could easily fit an extra wardrobe instead.
Clean linen/bedrooms, plenty of hot water and excellent heating. Beds were extremely comfortable. A few niggles; a broken window in one of the bedrooms, no plug point for the hairdryer near the mirror and the shaver point in bathroom was too high. Shower was hot and powerful albeit very small. I'm a big fellah/1.84m and I struggled to get in and out of it. Coffee machine is confusing but strangely extensive instructions on how to use the simple washing machine.
TV was poor - all British and no Irish channels and reception went completely for last 2 days
Furniture on blocks of wood (another reminder to "protect the floors") - the obession of which made it a little hard to relax!
We had a great quiet stay- in the country but easy driving distance to towns. (Don't miss the coffee shop/ garden center 5 minutes from the place as described in the welcome package.) We went on 3 different 45 minute to 2 hour walks from our front door and the cliff walk in Ardmore was the highlight of our stay. It's a 45 min. drive to Cork. Lovely town (Dublin of the south) university town and for you foodies we found the Cork city food co-op!
Rowland was easy to contact and very responsive while Bridie who lived a few minutes away came by to help out with the Wi-Fi on the first day. Wonderful people and the Irish are very friendly.
The cottage was charming and cozy and had everything we needed. Bread, milk, coffee, and cookies all awaited us upon our arrival - just what we needed after a bit of a drive.
Our host was very responsive when we had questions and checked in on us.
We had a great stay. Lovely timber decor inside. Hosts were warm and friendly. House comfortable and well equipped. Lovely walled lawn area myself and my daughter had great fun playing there. Weather good lots to do in area.
Gorgeous little Irish Cottage on the doorstep of Cork and Waterford.
I stayed in the carriage cottage With my 10yr old so I could self isolate before I went to stay with my elderly mum. Itâs a charming cottage up the road from Ferrypoint. The housekeeper Bridie was fabulous making sure I had all I needed and started us off with lovely tea, biscuits, brown soda bread and butter!! Staying in the cottage you are on the doorstep to explore both cork and Waterford. With Youghal across the bridge for shopping and beach. Then Ardmore behind you for more fantastic beaches and the beautiful Cliff walk. This is an ideal quiet getaway To see the south coast of Ireland!
