Great place to stay in Cortecito. Dedicated parking and awesome rooftop private patio. There are quirks like you will have anywhere. This is an apartment, not a secluded 5 start hotel. So yes, the mini market outside is loud during the day and yes the roosters outside will make noise. But it is safe and overall a lovely condo. i like the place the only thing I that i think needs improvement is the hand washing area, it's broken and should be replaced. The towels are very stiff and takes a long time to absorb the water. everything else was very good.

Very clean and the manager was awesome!

We absolutely loved our stay at this condo. We felt very safe and enjoyed the rooftop. The manager was absolutely awesome and communicated with us so well. She went out of her way to accommodate all our needs.

Location location location

This spot was in a great spot for walking to the nearby restaurants and bars and beach. The staff/security was great. The rooftop patio was a great feature. The cushions weren't as clean as in the photo but we made do. Overall all I would recommend.

Hello Laetitia and thank you for your review. I would like to point out though, for any potential guests who will read this review, that all rentals in Dominican Republic charge for the electricity based on individual consumption. In other words you pay only for what you used . The cost is not $20 per day but 20,90 Dominican pesos per kWh used. We have guests who used less than $5 per day worth, during their stay as there are those who used more than $20 per day worth of electricity. The meter is available to all guests to check every day and self monitor the usage. Thank you again for choosing our home and we hope you visit again, soon.

Overall it was Ok except we were off of power (the only one in our building) for 1 to 2 hours and the washing machine was not working at all. Took 4 days before we had a replacement.

Great location!

Our stay was quite pleasant. Marina the property manager was always prompt to respond. The condo is close to most restaurants and night life and is safe with a security guard at the gate. The only issues were that the pool was in good shape to swim most of the time as the water was pretty murky and one of the bathrooms leaked the last two days, but overall, things were great.

Queit, lovely pool, close to town for dining and shopping

7-10 minute walk to restaurants and beach. Only issue was stinky water in sinks and showers. Apparently an issue in most places. Buy plenty of water for drinking, dishes, and cooking. Nuria was easy to work with.

Luckily it’s only a periodical problem. We wish we had control over that but all home owners are just the recipients of the service from the city water distribution. Reasonable price and within walking distance...

The location is within walking to the beach and several good restaurants and groceries. New kitchen appliances, nice rooftop area. Property manager was very helpful resolving issues. Owners are good communicators and were very responsive. There is a market outside the bedroom windows that seems to be open through most of the night and can be quite noisy. Bring some ear plugs just in case. Besides the market, the neighborhood is quiet.

Okay stay with a few problems

Overall a quality stay. Property manager was incredibly fast to reply and fix problems. The pool and balcony were super!! We had a few problems with the power going out, water not working, and check in took quite a while (20ish minutes from arrival to getting into room). The neighborhood is not the nicest (lots of trash along the walk to the beach). Works well for a group of young adults ready for adventure. Would think twice if elderly or with family.

I am sorry the water quality in the building was not up to standards. The condo complex is currently going through a water purification system update . We apologize it was not done by the time you stayed . The whole complex received a brand new water purification and filtration system this month plus we have installed an extra water purification filter in our unit . The water quality is no longer an issue .

Very comfortable stay

The apartment was very comfortable, and walking distance from restaurants and the beach and grocery stores. Some previous reviews mentioned they had problems with the water. We didn’t. Matter of fact the owner installed extra filters, thank you. The roof top was exceptionally at night. We loved star gazing! The grounds were super clean and although we didn’t make use of the pool, it looked very appealing. Finally, the owner was very accommodating. We landed way earlier than expected and asked for an earlier check-in without knowing the owner was supposed to “check out” on the same day. We had the pleasure to meat him, and he showed us around. Awesome family!!! Highly recommend the place! We stayed just for 5 nights because we waited up to last minute to book it. Don’t make the same mistake!

I recommend staying here

Overall, the place was good. The inside of the apartment was clean and had everything you need. Plenty of towels which was nice. The provided shampoo and body wash as well. The apartment provides ice cubes as well. They were working on the tile of the pool so it didn’t seem the cleanest. Didn’t spend much time at the pool. The water provided was good! There wasn’t a whole lot of water pressure, but it was fine. Just don’t try to run both showers at once. It was a 5 min walk to restaurants. Just be aware of your surroundings while walking over there. The walk to the beach was just about 10 min as well. But don’t really recommend going there as there was a lot of seaweed everywhere and not much public access. The activities were limited. However, if you need a clean, comfortable place to stay this will work for you.

Great complex

The condo itself was very spacious and comfortable and well equipped. We were not impressed with the property manager as we initially had no hot water and there was a leaky faucet that had created mold in sink ( a plumber did eventually come and fix issues). These should have been handled before we arrivedAlso for the check in the property manager only gave us her phone number on WhatsAapp and no other instructions ( not everyone has the App or WiFi available in a foreign country) there is a lock box available so a self check in could possibly be used instead. . We loved the deck overlooking the pool and also the rooftop, with the barbecue and lounge area The pool was awesome and was cleaned everyday, and the security guard and yard maintenance guys were very friendly and helpful ( they helped us carry the 5 gallon jugs of water up the stairs). It is quite noisy in the condo due to the little store just behind us opening at 7 am and closing at 11 pm. They played their music very loud and then talked over the music. ( Local flavor added to our stay) It was convenient to walk to the store ( 10 -15 minutes) and to the beach and restaurants although we did not walk at night as did not feel comfortable enough with the area. There are little Poppi taxis that are reasonable and always available.

Pleasant apart with a nice terrace

2nd stay in this well furnished apartment in a very nice residency. Though, the apartment would need some maintenance (linking water in one of the bathrooms and in the laundry room). We haven’t met the property manager upon arrival or departure, but a handyman living closer.

water issue during my stay. i could not use the water because the smell was unbearable. we were given extra 5 gallon jugs of water for showering and cooking. very inconvenient. i had to take bird baths everyday.

My wife and I had been dreaming about retiring in a tropical destination one day . While we are not yet ready to retire , we decided to make the first step towards realizing our dream by purchasing this property.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

When deciding on where to buy we were looking for things like the weather all year round , proximity to the beach as well as local spots, shops, restaurants. We wanted to be close to the local vibe.
Gated communities , far removed from the beach and the local culture did not interest us.
That is why we chose this place.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Besides being centrally located to the beach and all amenities, we feel the private roof top terrace is the best feature that a lot of the condos do not have. It offers that additional outdoor space which is just wonderful in a tropical climate . The evenings and beautiful sunsets that you can enjoy out there while having your favourite drink or snack. That is something you will remember from your vacation for a long time.
