This little house, snuggled inside the walls of the old city is a real delight. The kitchen is well appointed, bed is super comfortable, and everyone associated with the booking and check-in were very helpful. Location is excellent.

Truly a great place to stay! Highly recommend! The only con is getting to the front door. GPS takes you to a place outside the wall and it is very difficult to find the apartment. After you have stayed for a day or two, you begin to understand the layout and the very narrow streets. We stayed during the Christmas festival which closed certain streets. That was somewhat difficult to get around. Overall, we would stay there again but want to advise newbies that it’s pretty tough to find the place in the beginning. Otherwise, the cottage is terrific!!

Charming and well furnished place

We just loved staying here. Obidos is a special place. January visit was very cold so bring warm clothes! Cake and fruit was really a nice thing to have. Parked right outside the house. Advise only small cars try to get inside the walls. A great adventure! Thanks!

Awesome old place in a really old city!

This is an amazing little house in a cool old walled city. They’ve done a great job giving you some of the amenities from the present, while also preserving much of the past the house. If you happen to visit in the winter keep in mind this is a very old home and you’re gonna wanna bring some cosy clothing and slippers. Host was generous and responsive. Would stay again but would rather visit again when it’s warmer lol

The apartment was lovely - a traditional house with rock walls and exposed timber roof inside the old city walls. Our only complaint was the access, as guest cars are not allowed inside the city walls. We parked at the car park and faced a 10-15 minute walk over VERY uneven rock streets and steep grades dragging our suitcases. Check in was easy and the owner was very responsive.

Obidos for 3 days

Óbidos was fantastic. The rental was fantastic and so was the location. Surrounded by restaurants. We loved Jamon Jamon and the Litterary Man. We had problems opening the door to the rental. It was not functionning. Had a hard time reaching out to the owner. After 2 hrs the owner sent a lady to help us open the door. There is a trick to open the door. It is a truly wonderful place to stay in Óbidos. I highly recommend it. :)

A magical casa!

We were delighted with this historic casa that sits just inside the walls of Obidos. The loft style home was well appointed and had everything we needed during our stay. It was tastefully decorated and we loved the authentic stone walls and large wooden beams throughout! Paula and Concha were excellent hosts and quickly answered all of our questions. Upon arrival, the hosts had left some fruit, jams, coffee, tea, milk, bread and other staples that we were able to have for breakfast the next day - nice added touch. We were able to park the car right beside the home. Minutes away from the casa you can walk all the streets of Obidos. Plenty of restaurants minutes away, and fine Portuguese-style restaurants outside the walls less than 1 km, including grocery stores. We were glad that we were able to experience this home and town and would highly recommend it for couples of all ages! We will be back!!

I begin by regretting the fact that we did not meet your expectations. I will not comment on the aspects highlighted because it would be inappropriate to deny a guest in this way. I hope that no other host is subjected to your intense scrutiny, solely with the aim of harming the accommodation. The house is more than 100 years old and was restored in accordance with the standards permitted by the medieval village council. All the houses inside the walled town have difficulty eliminating humidity due to the stone walls inside. The decor in general is rustic by option, however with all the needs met for comfortable stays. We have already received hundreds of guests during the 10 years of local accommodation, the majority had stays that exceeded expectations, unfortunately this was not your case, which is why you created reasons for a bad evaluation. I too feel very disappointed.

Great location inside the walls!

Great location and communication with Paula was very good! The accommodations were perfect for my family of four and there are two bathrooms which is a plus. The bed is very comfortable which is important for me. We were even provided with a starter kit of bread, fruit and milk which was a nice touch. Highly recommend the charming property if you are checking out Óbidos! Some have noted parking was an issue but it was no problem for us - although we did park outside of the walls.

The Charming House Obidos is Beautiful!

The Charming House Obidos is a wonderful little house. It is fully modernized with a loft bedroom and bath above and a cozy living room and kitchen below. Our hosts made sure it was well stocked with snacks and breakfast supplies. The town of Obidos is the most beautiful of all the very beautiful towns we visited in Portugal. Don’t miss it! The Charming House is in a quiet corner of the village next to the ancient wall. Can’t say enough great things about this property!

So much better than I ever imagined. This cute little house within the walled city is amazing.

First off I want to say how amazing the city of Óbidos is. This is far better than a hotel. This is an entire private house and it's within the city walls. Looking out the window you have a view of the old wall that surrounds the city. The house definitely has an old world feel but with all modern amenities you'd hope for. There are 2 bathrooms also which was very nice. The bed upstairs was very very comfortable. There is extra linen and pillows. Our son slept on the couch downstairs and they arranged a crib for our baby as well. Very accommodating. There was a washer/dryer combo which came in handy for us. This house is situated right next to one of the wall entrances which turned out to be extremely convinient for us to come and go with a car. Parking is a bit of a challenge but definitely not terrible. After unloading our bags right at the front door we went and parked outside the wall. We found a lucky parking spot that was only 50 meters from the house. There is more parking up the street which is probably 200 meters. I could go on about how wonderful this place is. So much positive to say about it. I also want to thank our hosts for arranging to stay late for us to arrive at 10pm. The only constructive feedback I have to help improve things for future renters. 1. Finding the place was difficult and I consider myself pretty good with directions and I'm fluent in Portuguese. So for me to have difficulties I can only assume others will (I also read someone else's feedback about this same thing). Let me try to help. The entrance into the city through a small "hole in the wall" is big enough for a car even though it may not appear to be. There is a "do not enter" sign but it does specify (in Portuguese) "except local residents" . You can enter there to reach the house and unload. Note that it is very tight and if you're a bad driver you'll probably scratch your doors. If you're not comfortable on tight roads then do not go into the city. Also note that per the map we were sent for check in I drove around several times looking for the house from the pic before I realized we were supposed to park and walk into the city to the house. Only after did I realize we could drive to the front door (the streets do get crowded so gotta be quick). 2. The water heater is small. We had about 8 minutes of hot water. Stagger your showers and plan accordingly. As a lover of warm showers I was disappointed. Despite these things I would 100% rent again here.

Just an amazing place and experience. Picturesque and idealistic in all aspects. The place, the town, the area are all perfect. The only suggestion we have is a more detailed description of check in! It is hard to find your way if you have a car- lots of narrow roads and tunnels to pass through to get inside the castle walls and too the Airbnb. Just a better heads up/description on the listing. Other than that, would definitely come back again!
