Home needs a deep cleaning
We stayed at this home for a weekend, and while it had cute farmhouse decor and a cozy vibe, the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall experience were disappointing.Safety Concern & Poor Host Response: The front door frame was damaged, and the deadbolt was barely holding onto the frame. This was a major security issue, & I immediately messaged the host. Unfortunately, the only response we got was automated until 2 days later and offered no solution or even an apology. If it hadn’t been so late at night when we arrived, we likely tried to cancel and opted for a hotel instead.Cleanliness Issues: The house felt unclean from the moment we walked in. The "house slippers" provided were visibly dirty and should be replaced. The air vents were caked with dust, and we suspect the air filter hadn’t been changed in a long time—my husband developed bad allergies after the first night. The ice machine in the freezer had visible mold and bacteria, which was a huge red flag for how little deep cleaning is done here. The dining table was sticky, the sheets in the master bedroom were old and piling, and worst of all, we found someone else’s hair in them and had to rewash everything before sleeping.The only positives were that the directions were clear, and the labeled light switches were helpful. The host’s lack of urgency regarding a major safety issue was unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here until the host takes real steps to improve both the home and their responsiveness.
