After many vacations on the coast, our family ventured inland to Valladolid and were greeted by friendly people in a beautiful setting. The hacienda was the crown jewel of the experience, and we wished we'd have booked more nights! The hostess is a joy pointing us towards great food and experiences and even taking our daughter to tend to her rescue dogs to her delight. Highly recommended!
Very unique place that took you back in time. Host was very helpful and easy to reach. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything's was within walking fistance.
The house is huge, bedrooms are comfortable and property is beautiful. Daniel was very kind and helpful. She was available to share advice and great places to visit.
Our family of five greatly enjoyed our stay. The house and grounds are beautiful and it is well located to the town center and many great restaurants. Danielle provided lots of helpful information and Carlos attended to all our needs. It was a very special place to stay. I highly recommend.
Lovingly restored 18th century sprawling property, with beautiful garden, filled with antiques and modern amenities. One of the best properties we ever had a luck to stay. Danielle, who manages the property, was superb communicator, answering our many questions prior our arrival and went above and beyond assisting us with our needs. Highly recommended.
This residence was impressive. It was a traditional Spanish home with some modern amenities. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and close to the main square. It was an incredible stay.
This was such a wonderful stay! From the impeccable design, beautiful gardens, and historical relevance (this house belonged to the first town doctor), Casa Amore Carina was an amazing, one of a kind experience. We were all taken with the beauty, hospitality, and comfort of this stay.
A big thanks to Danielle, the host, who took care of all our needs and wants, and went above and beyond with daily recommendations. Also, thank you Carlos!
So beautiful and spacious. We loved hanging out at the large kitchen island and relaxing in the lovely garden patio. This place is beautiful and comfortable. Very close to town, shopping, and restaurants. We just stepped out our door and walked everywhere. Definitely exceeded our expectations.
This home in Valladolid is unlike any home I've stayed at before. It feels like an old Spanish villa, or like a whole hotel just for us. The gardens are spectacularly maintained, and make it delightful to walk from the main entry-hall to the kitchen and rear wing of the property. The tall ceilings, beautiful art, and enormous kitchen made me want to never leave the VRBO, even though there is so much to do in and around Valladolid.
This is our second time staying at Amora Karina because we enjoyed our first stay so much. It was wonderful to return to this extraordinary place, to step off the street into another world of beautiful rooms with historic details and impossibly high ceilings, a private walled garden where we sat under a balcony to enjoy a tropical rainstorm and the birds singing, and a rooftop with an incredible view of Templo de San Servacio, whose bells we could hear ringing. The kitchen is fabulous, and we enjoyed cooking and eating in the garden, and there are so many little touches that add to the experience. Danielle gave us a warm welcome, making us feel like family, and Carlos is friendly and helpful. The location is great, a few blocks from the town square, museums and restaurants, and the cenote and market are about 15 minutes walk away, so easy to shop and swim. We look forward to returning for a third time!
Staying in this beautiful historical house was like a dream--every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. Danielle was amazing and welcomed us so warmly, with lots of wonderful suggestions for restaurants and sights. The garden is absolutely dreamy and the kitchen spectacular--I could have happily stayed inside for a week exploring the property's many secret corners. But great location too--easy to shop, eat and see the sights all around. The magical Cenote Zaci and Convento San Bernardino are both 10-15 minutes walk away through beautiful neighborhoods. We would (and hope to) absolutely stay again!
Great location, walk to plaza and restaurants around the city center. House is a beautiful oasis with 2 private courtyards and a fantastic roof deck. Back courtyard garden is a perfect spot to relax. House is clean, well stocked big kitchen, washer dryer. Lots of art and history. Great place to stay. Danielle is super responsive and available for questions or recommendations, otherwise the house is a quiet place to relax in the middle of Valladolid. Thanks!
Though every photo is accurate, none of them do justice to this incredible villa. It is mere blocks from the town center, but when you enter the door you step into another world. Absolute old world luxury. As for the hostess and caretaker, Danielle and Carlos could not be nicer. They clearly have a passion and a talent for their jobs. My next trip to the area will be planned around availability of this fabulous villa!
This place was jaw dropping! The art, soaring ceilings, antique furniture, and most lush gorgeous yard and courtyard. You have to see it to believe it. We loved it SO much and wished we booked an additional night here. The host, Daniella, was so kind and gracious, giving good food recommendations and going out of her way to be helpful in every way. There is no A/C in the living room or dining room, but itâs worth being a bit warm to experience this incredible house and relax on the beauful patio area overlooking the potted plants, large trees, and ancient walls. Staying here was one of the top experiences of our trip across the Yucatan.
The property, both the structure and grounds, and beautiful and well-maintained. We had a wonderful stay (2 adults, 4 small children) and were very happy with the experience. The location was perfect as it was close to the main square. Check-in was easy as was communication.
We could walk to the majority of restaurants and sites we were interested in seeing in Valladolid. We were able to park right out front whenever we drove, but during busy times I could see parking being a bit of a challenge. The street cleared out during the evening each day though.
I would very much recommend this property.
There is so much to say about this property. The location was ideal, and being in such a well maintained and beautiful historical colonial home left us speechless. It was FANTASTIC! The owners had it well equipped, and thought of everything. Carlos kept up the grounds and house wonderfully, and Danielle is an amazing person and house manager. She is absolutely delightful, and her #1 priority is to ensure we had a great stay. Many reviews just give 5 stars because itâs âeasyâ ⊠but trust me this one really deserves 5++ stars!
We are so happy that we booked this incredible property for our group. The pictures barely do it justice, it is truly stunning and so unique.
There was plenty of space for our group of 5 adults, and all the amenities we needed. A/C in the bedrooms made sleeping very comfortable and there are fans throughout the other spaces including in the outdoor seating area which was a perfect place to gather at the end of the day.
The kitchen is very well set up and has everything you could need. The hosts were very responsive and easy to get ahold of. Carlos was super helpful and friendly and keeps the house is immaculate shape. We cannot wait to come back!
My family of 4 (including 9 yo and 15 yo) had a wonderful, memorable stay at this property. The property is so secluded and calm inside the walls with a beautiful garden and there are so many different parts of the property to enjoy. The home feels very historic / timeless, but many amenities are modern and functional (bathroom fixtures, A/C in all 3 bedrooms, modern washer and dryer, etc). Danielle was incredibly helpful with recommendations - we dined at her restaurant recommendations both nights and both were delicious, and she offered lots of helpful advice when one of the kids didn't feel well. Carlos was kind and helpful and his talent in the landscaping is incredible, but since we don't speak Spanish we were not able to get to know him well. Note that Carlos is in and out regularly in the daytime to check on the property via the homes front door, turn on / off outdoor lights etc. Depending on your preferences this can be excellent or surprising. We always felt safe and while we were there his visits were short and he only attended to the more public spaces (e.g. gardens).
This is an exceptional property in the heart of Valladolid. It feels like stepping into a time machine, and at the time time is in the very city center and is perfectly comfortable. Danielle was so helpful and responsive, and saved the day by sending us an old map of the area when we encountered a road block on our way due to some protests and were being sent on a massive detour (even Google maps did not have the roads on her map!). We loved that so many sights were just a stone's throw from the house, including the main square and cathedral, the incomparable Casa de los Venados and the lovely handicrafts store across the street Jaguara Yucatan. Danielle helped us to plan the best use of our time during our limited stay, and we just wish we had more time. Would come back in a heartbeat!
Nice House in a great location but major issues made it not worth the asking price.
That house is wonderful with large spaces and good access to the centre of town. However we had substantial issues with a few important amenities.
The upstairs bedroom toilet flush didn't work for the entire stay.
The wifi doesn't work anywhere except the main bedroom. I recommend a wifi extender in the house.
Basic amenities like a kettle and microwave were not provided. It made cooking in the house harder.
Danielle is a nice host with great communication and tried to assist but I would check for the above basic amenities before staying here again, not worth the price.
My husband and I, daughter, son in law and two small grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed spending Five days in this magnificent colonial estate in the heart of Valladolid. The entrance, dining room and two bedrooms in the first building are impeccably decorated under 40 foot beamed ceilings. The enormous tiled kitchen looks out over a carefully tended garden that feels like a secluded oasis just a block from the city center. The bedroom and deck above the kitchen offer more privacy and a clear view of gleaming stars at night. We all fell in love with this magnificent estate and with the charming town of Valladolid. Danielle was so helpful, and Carlos was lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home with us. We take from it memories for a lifetime.
The house and grounds are beautiful. The property has a very traditional feel. From the upper deck you can see the place next door and get a very good appreciation about the restoration work that was done. The right time of year this is an incredible place to stay. The view from the upper deck is amazing you can see a long way.
There are some unique features that you do not get from the listing. Only the bed rooms are air conditioned. The property is broken into two separate buildings with two bed rooms the dining room and siting room in one and the kitchen and third bedroom in the other with a breezeway in the middle.
Parking is interesting, early in the morning you can part directly in front of the door, but most of the rest of the time you have to park a ways away.
I definitely recommend this property. This is large beautiful space, both inside and out. There is a huge, well-equipped kitchen, great bathrooms and a peaceful, fully enclosed out door sitting area (with an additional patio upstairs).
Danielle (the manager) was very personable and responsive. At one point we locked ourselves out of the property with both of our phones inside (charging). With the help of a neighboring business, and in a very short time, we were able to reach Danielle and find Carlos (the propertyâs gardener), both of whom arrived within minutes. Problem solved.
Itâs well located with a short walk to the main square, Convento de San Bernardino de Siena, restaurants, etc.
Thanks Danielle, weâll definitely stay again the next time weâre in the area.

Our experience here, at the house, and in Vallodolid, is what dreams are made of! I cannot express what an amazing home this is- it's stunning and grand while being cozy and welcoming. We travelled with our 3 boys (10,8,6) and they loved it too, and wanted to know if we could move in :) The photos don't do the house justice, and it's perfectly located within walking distance to everything you could need (restaurants, shops, grocery store, galleries, playgrounds, a cenote, etc.). We rented a car and had no trouble parking in front of the house.
And as others have said, the most unexpected treasure of our experience was being connected with Danielle! If Danielle suggests an activity or a restaurant to you- DO IT- she is the best, and will be an asset to your time in Vallodolid!
While we had to tell our kids we couldn't move in, if the house ever goes on market, we'll be 1st in line with an offer :)
