This place is amazing! Our family had a wonderful time living off grid for a week. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and remote. The owner is very nice, helpful, and easy to communicate with.
Great place to relax and unwind. The cabin and annex was very spacious for our group of 12. The log home is well kept and very clean. The owner was very helpful with any questions and concerns. We had a great stay!!!
Our stay at Lazy Bear Lodge was fantastic. The cabin was better than I could have imagined. It was so clean and you had an instant feeling of home when you walked in. We came up to the UP for our elopement at Black Rocks. We had a few people we were close with (9 adults 3 children) stay with us and this cabin accommodated us well! They spray for mosquitoes so even though you are deep deep deep in the woods youâre actually able to be outside. The owner was amazing and very responsive! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed plus more. Itâs definitely off the beaten path but well worth the hike through the woods. Iâd love to stay there again. We built so many lasting memories while staying in this house it will forever hold a special place in my heart
It's a great get away, lovely scenery, with total privacy. Only problem we had were the ticks, which are gonna be a problem anywhere in the region, just be aware and check yourself for them occasionally and you're golden. Overall fantastic time, I would recommend to any lover of the outdoors!
This remote destination does not disappoint. Property manager is on point and attentive. If you need anything or have questions youâre in good hands.
Great atmosphere for those that want to detach completely. 10/10
The property looks just like the pictures. It was beautiful, secluded and quiet. We had 4 families with kids and adults and we enjoyed the property and the amenities. We were a little nervous driving out because itâs very remote. But once we got there the property was just as advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We had a great time at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The property was spacious, clean, beautiful, and had everything we needed. Marty was very responsive with any questions we had. Part of its secluded charm, though, is that it is not easy to get to for city slickers like usâ15 miles of unpaved roads made it a trek to go into town. Perfect place to hang out with family and friends and get away from civilization for a bit!
Wonderful off the grid snowmobiling paradise. We had an amazing time for our annual father son snowmobile trip. The cabin was clean with all the comforts of home. The sauna was great after a full day on the trails. Marty is a great host. I highly recommend his cabin. Four wheel drive vehicles are needed in the winter.
Phenomenal property that was completely isolated deep in rugged nature. A âfrontierâ experience while in Michigan is a unique thing. Access to Marquette and surrounding area a drive but reasonable. Sauna on the property elevates the stay to the next level. Will leave here calmer, as life will have slowed down and connection to nature ensued. Marty a great host, supportive, communicable, and laid back. Once in a lifetime experience, would highly recommend.
If your looking for a home to decompress from the every day hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place! From the wind blowing in the trees to the hummingbirds feeding on the front deck, that will be about the only noise you hear! The home was super clean with all amenities needed to make our stay comfortable. The sauna was a bonus and very well done. Great after a long day of trail riding! The river basin out front didn't have much in the way of fish, but nice to look at. Many lakes in the area to fish, with the remote ones accessed only by ORV. The property owner Marty was extremely helpful with any questions our group had, and in accommodating with our needs to make our stay a positive, memorable one! A+ for communication! The drive back to the property wasn't bad with the roads being graded and fun to ride 4 wheelers on. All in all, everyone in our group enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Bear Lodge, and will definitely be a consideration in future trips to the Marquette area!!!
Our family, consisting of my husband and I, three adult daughters, 4 adult Grandkids and our dog had a great time at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The ride back to the lodge is a bit rough, but it is remote! Beautiful setting, games, campfires, antique shopping and visiting waterfalls for our 10 day stay.
Very rustic cabin in the middle of the woods, which is a great experience. Very relaxing around fire in the evenings. Little tricky to find it the first time as Google maps wanted us to take an ATV trail but we found it! Had a great time with family
Our stay was brief but I wish it could have been longer. The home was exactly as described. The ride in was an adventure! The atmosphere of the property was perfectly peaceful. My kids told me when we were leaving that all other vacation homes will be measured against this one!
This Lazy Bear Resort is truly a private, remote location. Once you make the long trip down the windy road you will embark on a log cabin in the woods. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and well described in its listing. We wish the lake was a little more accessible, but other than this no complaints.
I stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge with my family and friends. The cabin was great. Very clean and well appointed. The property was beautiful! All of us in my group (6 adults and 6 kids) loved the Lazy Bear Lodge and had a great time. We would love to come back. Marty was a great host. Thank you, Marty, for your hospitality!
We could not be happier with the Cozy Bear Lodge or itâs host Marty! Communication is key and he answered all of our questions with patience and passion for us to have a great stay. Which we did! Accommodations were top notch and this place is a true get away! If you want peace, you have it! If you want adventures in the wilderness or to do some riding you have it! Just could not have had a better time! We will be back!
Fantastic stay with great snow and an even greater host! Marty was always accessible, and helped us out when we had issues with a snowmobile. It truly is off the grid, in the middle of nowhere! You would never know it however, because it has all the comforts of home. Definitely need four wheel drive in the winter, and GPS to guide you. I would strongly suggest this to the avid snow rider. Lots of miles to be found in this true back country! Thanks again Marty!
We had a great long weekend in the UP. The property is wonderful, very well-stocked and apportioned. Marty is an amazing resource, always available and eager to assist. We are hoping to be back soon!
We had three couples and this cabin was amazing! Back in the woods with all the comforts of home. We road the trails on our side by sides to Big Bay and around the area, attend a wedding, fires every night and the sauna topped it off! That said was able to work a little with great internet connectivity. We will be back for snowmobile season!!!
This is a beautiful remote cabin in the woods!
Our crew of Jeep drivers throughly enjoyed its authenticity and amenities. With excellent trail access between Marquette, Ishpeming and Big Bay we had an awesome time of discovery in the northern Upper Peninsula. The home was a quintessential log cabin with everything you would need and desire. The hosts are friendly and responsive and we really enjoyed our stay.
Our Jeep crew boasts the tagline of âLost in the Woodsâ and this place perfectly encapsulates our desires. Get lost in the wild but come home to the comforts and warmth of this expansive yet cozy cabin in Champion Michigan!
