Nicole was a wonderful host, attentive and eager to help make the stay memorable. The house and grounds are stunning, really well equipped with plenty of space and interesting art and comfortable furnishing. The pool is fabulous and itâs only a 10 or 15 minute walk to the walled town of Aigues Mortes. The horses are fabulous and come and say hello - and love melon!
The house, garden and pool are beautiful and so is the surrounding. The communication with the owner startet very good and the check-in without any problems.
BUT (!):
After 3 days in the evening she wrote me a massage requesting us to leave the house the next morning. She gave as a reason we would be more people than we said at the booking. That wasn't true at all! So I wrote her there'd be no reason to kick us out and we'd stay until Saturday as booked. A few minutes later she came to the house insulting us of lying as my 16 year old nephew would not be a kid but an adult. Furthermore there would be an extra adult she meant to have seen the night before. We had real trouble to convince her that we are only the people standing in front of her and there had never been an extra guest or even a visitor. Furthermore a 16 year old boy is not an adult and that's how we did the reservation. In the end she gave in as she didn't have any proof of the 'extra-person'. We agreed that we could stay and she should come if she ever saw that mysterious guy again.
Luckily there were no further complaints but we didn't feel welcome anymore. She lives next door and comes regularly on the property to clean the pool amd water the plants. And she also goes swimming in the pool when you're away (as she announced when we arrived) or in the evening when you're in the house (which we didn't know before).
All in all a beautiful place disturbed by the unfriendly behaviour of the owner.
My husband and I rented this holiday home for 8 days. During that time our 2 daughters and partners came to stay for a few days each. We selected this property as its description appealed to us more than other options in the area which looked modern, small and lacked character. Conversely Nicoleâs holiday home looked larger, more spacious with a garden and character. This is indeed an accurate description. The outside veranda is enormous and allows outdoors living in comfort. We loved it. The barbecue was efficient which made simple suppers easy with minimum effort. Nicole works hard to keep the swimming pool clean and filtered and we enjoyed relaxing around the pool with the occasional dip in the water. The house is spacious, furniture substantial, beds comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped â even with a teapot. We enjoyed the famous Camargue horses being on hand to pop their heads over the fence!
The town is a 30 minute stroll away, along a safe quiet road. The nearest bakerâs is 25 mins stroll. The nearest supermarket is on the other side of town, a 5 minute drive.
I would recommend this property to those who seek a quiet relaxing break in a rural setting but still walkable into a town offering all facilities.
