Bienvenue au Flamboyant Cottage, notre maison de vacances en pain d'épice sur Saba, la reine intacte des Caraïbes. Avec deux chambres, deux salles de bains, une cuisine entièrement équipée et une piscine privée, c'est une belle maison reposante loin de chez soi. Le chalet est la base idéale pour découvrir le charme intemporel de Saba. Venez découvrir tout ce que la Reine intacte a à offrir!

Situé dans un espace privé isolé sur Booby Hill à seulement 12 minutes à pied de Windwardside, le Flamboyant Cottage est perché à 500 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. La propriété est située sur les collines sud-est de Saba, directement dans les alizés, et les terrasses offrent une vue spectaculaire sur la mer des Caraïbes et les îles de St. Eustache (Statia), St. Kitts et Nevis.

La proximité du Flamboyant Cottage à Windwardside signifie que vous êtes à distance de marche des épiceries, des magasins et de plusieurs restaurants. Pour se déplacer sur l'île, les taxis sont à portée de main, ou mieux encore, enfilez vos chaussures de randonnée et profitez des spectaculaires sentiers de randonnée de Saba. Les opérations de plongée de Saba offrent un excellent service, y compris le transport du chalet aux bateaux de plongée amarrés à Fort Bay.

Flamboyant Cottage dispose de deux chambres (un lit queen, deux lits jumeaux), deux salles de bains (chacune avec douche), une cuisine entièrement équipée, un belvédère extérieur et des terrasses carrelées menant à une belle piscine privée. Le chalet est conçu pour un ou deux couples et peut accueillir un maximum de quatre personnes.

Flamboyant Cottage est notre maison détendue et calme, loin de chez nous. Si vous cherchez un environnement paisible et reposant pour vos vacances, c'est l'endroit qu'il vous faut. Vous pouvez passer des journées à être aussi paresseux ou énergiques que vous le souhaitez - vous pouvez vous asseoir près de la piscine avec un livre préféré, passer la journée sous la mer des Caraïbes avec l'un des magasins de plongée locaux de Saba ou tester votre forme physique sur les sentiers de randonnée de Saba. La nuit, vous avez le choix de vous détendre dans le kiosque extérieur du chalet avec un repas fait maison ou de marcher dans Windwardside pour goûter à l'un des nombreux restaurants de Saba.

Amazing stay

Our stay was perfect from the minute we landed on the island. Easy communication with property manager, taxi prearranged and the cottage had everything we needed! Great views, walking distance to town, restaurants and hiking. Everyone we met was SUPER friendly which made our stay extra special!

Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean

You can't get a better spot/place in Saba. This quaint cottage has views to die for, as well as everything you need in a vacation rental. Plus it has a pool. No need for AC either since the breezes, along with the fans keep the place quite comfortable. I know some guests stated they walked to Windwardside....quite a hike. We rented a car which worked perfect. Communication with Michael the property manager, and Larry the owner was perfect.

Unique experience.

We loved our stay. The cottage was perfect…cozy with everything you need to have a great stay. Beautiful views and a short walk to town. Be aware the walk is short but lots of steep hills. Michael the property manager was great and made our stay easy. The island of Saba is beautiful and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Take note that if you’re looking for beaches and night life, this is not the place for you. If you want to hike, scuba, snorkel and relax this is the perfect island.

Amazing cottage!

This place was beautiful, so peaceful and the views and pool were perfect. A well appointed kitchen and plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. Michael was an extremely helpful host coordinating transport easily and even making the occasional dinner reservation for us. Wonderful island, visit if you feel like completely relaxing!

Unique and Quaint and lots of cardio

Saba is unlike any Caribbean island. Quaint, quirky, and quiet and beautiful There is no beaches and very few tourists. It one very very steep mountain that goes into the ocean. This property is located above windward. The village and the house quaint and picturesque. It is great place to relax but there is not fast passed. The property has an amazing view and a pool that’s a little chilly. If you want yo relax, this is a great place. Please note. The hill is very steep. Taxis are expensive considering the distance. So cardio cardio cardio

Our Saba Experience

We had an amazing trip to this beautiful islands, and loved staying at the Flamboyant Cottage. We walked into Windwardside for restaurants, and did many breathtaking hikes. Saba is a treasure. The cottage was quiet, very comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea.

Superb view, lovely cottage

We had a great time at Flamboyant cottage. Sunrises were beautiful, the neighbourhood is quiet. The cottage has everything you need for a stay and the pool is clean and great for a refreshing 'dip'. The walk from Windwardside is a bit steep here and there. If you have mobility problems, it is good to rent a car. Nice that toilet paper, cheese, water, butter and eggs were provided. Michael, contact person on the island, was very helpful and friendly. We can recommend this stay to anyone.

Lovely way to see Saba

We enjoyed our stay! Michael, the local property manager was tremendously helpful. This is down a very steep hill and most taxis won't drive down it which was a bit of a downside. It is a bit of a physical trek to get down and up walking to Windwardside but boy the view alone is worth it. Everyone must experience Saba at least once! A true diamond in the rough.

The perfect place to relax and recharge

We stayed here for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage is very spacious with multiple outdoor areas and a lovely pool. I honestly could have just sat on the front porch and looked out over the water for the entire four days. It was that peaceful. Our local host was very accommodating and assisted us with arranging transportation to and from the ferry. It was great to have some grocery staples on hand when we arrived. The cottage is a bit of a walk from downtown Windwardside with multiple hills. It was definitely a good workout. We never used the TV, but the Wi-Fi signal was good. Saba is an amazing island, full of friendly people, beautiful vistas and challenging hikes. It definitely lives up to its moniker as the Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean. I would not recommend staying here if you are mobility impaired due to the steps and steep inclines. It was quite breezy at the cottage, so I would recommend bringing a sweater despite the warm temperatures.

Perfect in every way

My husband and I spent our honeymoon on Saba in the Flamboyant cottage, and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. All the advice given by the owners was useful and helped us to make great decisions during our stay. Michael and Tricia were friendly and helpful. The pool was amazing on hot days after the long walk up Booby Hill. The view from the house was gorgeous. Other reviews talked about the house being less modern than maybe other houses on the island, but we thought it was charming. It had everything we needed, and there was bread, eggs, cheese and yogurt left for us so we could make some breakfasts at home. They also left a cell phone to call local taxis, which was very helpful. The walk up the hill to and from the house was certainly challenging, but not impossible, and we enjoyed the exercise. Thank you so much - our stay was perfect and we can’t wait to come back!

Clean, Peaceful , great getaway

The cottage is equipped as described. Everything you need is there! The basic supplied food items were greatly appreciated. The pool and deck are great! We spent alot of our time there. The only negative would be that the toilet paper disposal method was not disclosed until we received our check in instructions. That really should be listed on the web page . While it may be considered "normal" in Saba, it really is very much out of the norm for many other places.

Beautiful Cottage & Island

My husband and I enjoyed our time at Flamboyant Cottage and the beautiful island of Saba. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. We spent a lot of time outside--hiking, reading and simply soaking in all the views. Highly recommended for a relaxing get-away. Phil & Debbie 12/19

Great cottage, spectacular views. Very refreshing pool. Loved walking to town daily. Dove with Sea Saba-great operation. Saba is a very quiet safe place. If you are looking for extravagance and party atmosphere this is not the place for you. If you are looking to really get away from it all and find some peace and tranquility this is the place to do it. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Definitely hike Mt Scenery. The owners, very nicely, provide free walking sticks to use. Go later in the day, the path is very slippery early in the am or after a rain but dries up nicely after the sun hits it for a few hours. The grocery store in town had everything we needed to cook most of our meals. Try Saba Spice. (Be aware If you don't like to walk/hike you will have to take a taxi everywhere which can get expensive so plan ahead. The roads are very hilly and narrow). Enjoy!

Wonderful Location

We just returned from a week on Saba where we stayed at Flamboyant Cottage. The entire experience was great. The communication with the owners was excellent. They are very responsive and helpful. The local caretaker, Michael, was friendly and available, but not at all intrusive. The view out the front door of the ocean, St. Eustatius, St Kitts and Nevis is stunning. We already miss the breezes, the quiet nights sitting out front, and breakfast in the gazebo. The property is on a private road in a quiet area, but only a short walk from Windwardside where groceries, shops, and restaurants are available. It’s remarkable how many amazing restaurants are in such a small area on a small island, whether you’re enjoying the lion fish at Brigadoon, a pizza at The Long Haul, appetizers and drinks at The Hideaway, or the eclectic menu at Saba Snack. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, though well-worn. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make a nice breakfast. Saba is not an ideal place to rent a car, so taxis and walking are the way to get around. The house is down a steep hill, and not every taxi driver will drive down. We are in our 50s and in reasonably good shape for our age. While we did fine walking around and hiking, we would find ourselves winded after the short walk to the top of the hill. Saba is a hilly island, so it could be something to consider for those who might have difficulty walking up and down hills every day. Saba is a very safe place, and the locals are very friendly. We aloved how pet-friendly it was. It was very common to see people out with their dogs and in restaurant outdoor seating areas. Whether you’re going to Saba to dive, hike, or relax, Flamboyant Cottage is a great place to stay.

Great stay at the Flamboyant Cottage. Comfortable. Great views.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Cottage is nice size - 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with a nice kitchen and living room and a small pool. It was stocked with a little food on arrival and there was a very helpful local contact. It's on a steep hill so probably not a great choice for someone who can't climb to the top of the hill to get a cab (only 100 metres). Walk to town is only 15 minutes. We did our scuba diving with Sea Saba - also great. Great spot for one or 2 couples.

We first visited Saba after hearing about the spectacular diving. That first visit was too short to do much exploring, so we came back to dive and hike and see more of this charming and unspoiled island, and we fell in love with the place and the people.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Flamboyant Cottage is a typical Saba cottage, perched on the side of a hill and perfectly situated to catch the constant breeze off the Caribbean. Flamboyant Cottage sits in a quiet neighborhood (no roosters!) of traditional Saba cottages, with a spectacular view of neighboring islands. Make the 12-minute walk to Windwardside for shopping and dining, and stop at the Trail Shop, the Tourist Bureau, or one of the dive shops to learn more about Saba's natural beauty, above and below water.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Saba has no beaches, no large resorts, no cruise ship visits. It offers pristine reefs for diving, hiking through spectacular rainforest and cloudforest ecosystems, and great dining. Sabians are some of the friendliest people you'll meet, and they are justifiably proud of their island's unique history and culture. Spend the morning diving or hiking, come back for a dip in the pool. Sit on the porch, sip a glass of wine, watch the sky change at sunset and listen as the tree frogs start to sing, then stroll into Windwardside for dinner (remember to take a flashlight!). Ahhh.
