Great Home Close to Downtown

The house was great - very comfortable. The game room was an added bonus that the whole family enjoyed. The owners were great to work with too. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to book a trip to Boyne City.

Cozy Boyne City home

We loved our stay in this cozy Boyne City home. It was close to the lake and the downtown area! Very clean, spacious and inviting! The house sits on a very quiet and peaceful spot. There is an added bonus of the game room that everyone enjoyed! The upstairs and downstairs are perfect for two small groups!

Comfy cottage

This home has combined the old with the new superbly! Boyne City is a delightful little village right in the middle of so much to do. We looked forward to coming home evert day to the charm of this home. Owners were so easy to work with; they are true hosts.

Great Place!

Great location and easily accessible to downtown Boyne City. The place was very clean and it was great having the bonus rec room and big back yard. Overall we had no issues and Carol did a great job of communicating. Enjoy your stay here!

Great home base for a ski vacation up north.

We spent the week trying out various ski resorts... Boyne Mountain being less than 10 minutes away. About a 15 min. walk or a 3 min. Drive into town. The house was very clean and well maintained. Everything seemed new and refreshed. Beds were very comfortable. Lots a space for our family of 5. The pool room was a lot of fun.

Perfect family getaway!

House is adorable and spotless. In a great location, walkable to downtown and the water. Also well stocked with everything you might need. The pool room was such an added bonus.. very well done!

Wonderful experience

We stayed a week and had a fantastic time. Carole was very kind and flexible with us. She gave many great recommendations for things to do and really helped us to navigate the area. The house was perfect! Everything we needed was there. Loved the kitchen cabinets and countertops! Beds were very comfortable. Everything in the home seemed very well kept and updated. Game room was awesome! Private backyard and deck. Walking distance to Boyne city which we loved. Just around the corner from Avalanche mountain trail which we hiked. It has amazing views. The Chinese restaurant in Boyne (Indio China garden) was delicious and one of the best takeouts we have had in a while. The farmers market on Sat was also fun. Would have liked to have spent a fortnight! Hopefully will be able to stay longer next year.

Wonderful stay up North and close to everything

We had such a wonderful time! My husband, mother-in-law and kids (ages 10&12) visited northern Michigan for the first time. We visited Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Mackinac Island for day trips, as well as a rafting trip down the Sturgeon River. It was wonderful returning to the quaintness of Boyne City each day. We loved every minute of it. The property was clean, conveniently located and the beds were incredibly comfortable. All 5 of us had space and felt right at home. Carol was fantastic communicating with us and very accommodating, patient, helpful, and all around wonderful! Highly recommend!

Great Summer Getaway!

We had a great late June getaway at Carol and Dan's house in Boyne City. We arrived on a Monday night and the owner came over to welcome us and showed us all the features of the property. The house had everything you would need to enjoy your stay - wonderful outdoor areas with fire pit and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We found that the kitchen had everything you needed to eat in if you preferred which we did for breakfast and a few lunches. We did dinner out in Boyne City and the surrounding areas as there are many great restaurants - we tried Red Mesa Grill for Mexican and a local pizza joint. The grocery store is just past the lakefront and has everything you need - including a Starbucks! The location is very close to downtown Boyne City and Boyne Mountain Resort. We went to Deer Lake (5 minutes away) for kayaking and paddleboarding. Boyne Mountain has lots of activities even if you aren't a guest of the resort, which we did the chair lift ride and went for ice cream. The surrounding areas of Charlevoix and Petoskey were short drives away and we spent time exploring it all. Definitely try the Ironton car ferry which takes you across Lake Charlevoix. We also enjoyed a dinner on the patio at The Landing near the ferry. Our evenings were spent in the game room playing pool or out by the firepit. It was a plus that firewood was provided which was a nice touch. The only feedback that we would provide would maybe to add a ceiling fan in the game room. Nights can be cooler in the area but the game room wasn't air conditioned and could be a little stuffy during the summer. The hosts were very accommodating and answered all our questions leading up to our visit and while at the property. The house was very clean and little details were definitely thought of. Really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Great place

We loved our visit to Boyne City. Carol is a great host and always very responsive. The house was very clean and well appointed. We loved the antique furniture throughout the house. The game room was the kids’ favorite part of the house! We spent most mornings on the outside patio and a few evenings we made s’mores on the fire pit. Overall, it was a great stay and we would visit again. Thanks for having us!

Spacious house in great location

Perfect for our long weekend

This house was perfect for our long weekend. The home was very clean with all the necessities that make getting away easy. Great location too! We were there for a ski weekend, only 10 mins to Boyne Mountain and about 40 to Highlands. Communication with the owners was easy.

Great times!

The property owners were amazing and checked in on us all the time. They allowed us to have privacy but wanted us to know they were right there if needed. Boyne is a wonderful place and had a great time skiing with my kids. We will be back!

Nice Christmas Family Ski Vacation

Our family of 5 stayed at this property and rang in the New Year. We enjoyed that the house was very clean, had plenty of space, and the owner was very responsive. We were on a ski trip and were less than 10 minutes from the base of the hill and only a few blocks from restaurants and shopping in Boyne City. Our only complaints were that there is no basic cable or any local channels on the TVs, so if you’re looking to spend your evening watching some Bowl games or playoff football or like to start your day with the morning local news this might no be the place for you. Also, if you have young children this older home has wood floors that are VERY loud and don’t lend themselves to quiet adult time when the kids are sleeping.....

Clean, updated, and wonderful location!

We had a wonderful stay in Boyne City. The house was meticulously clean and even the cooking utensils were new and in great condition. The house is more updated and spacious than in the pictures and we felt comfortable immediately as a family of 5. Our kids had a great time in the game room that is in the renovated garage and the fire pit was a great added bonus! The location is great too- walking distance into Boyne City which is charming and has everything you need- bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. It’s also an easy distance to everything in the area- Mackinac Island, Petoskey, etc. We will certainly stay here for years to come!

Was very clean and welcoming. Great kitchen for cooking our meals. Walking distance to downtown. Also a great hiking trail near by. Would definitely recommend the home for a family.

Dan and Carol Huntsbarger are restauranteurs by profession but love to restore older homes.
Our ancestral home is located next door, built by Carol's great Grandparents back in the 1800's. They have shared the history of Boyne City and how diverse It was over the decades. Grandmas home was our first renovation, and now we are hooked. We love to take homes in need of some TLC, and bring them back for people to enjoy and be comfortable.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The Knapp house had been neighbor of our Grandmother's since Carol was a child. Eventually it became a rental home, we bought it in 2016 and spent 3 years (in our spare time) bringing the home back to it's original glory plus a few touches of our own. We now make this home available for visitors to Boyne to be our guests.
